Can you offer a "special edition" 25 and 50 dollar stickers or coffee mugs? I don't need more hats and t-shirts. A 50 dollar tiny hardhat sticker? I'd rock a GOT sticker on my lid. Might help with the saw reviews for those of us trying not to accumulate more junk.

Earlier this year I went to a dealer to get a new saw for logging. My company pays for whatever I want, so I could pick up anything from any shelf. The dealer, who is one of the largest in Denmark, was lucky enough to have 592's in stock, and I really like husky. It came down between the 592 and the Stihl 500i. Their prices was almost identical. Tried them both, and went with the 592. I can see why a ported version of the 500i is hard to compare with stock saws, but I'm currently logging large oak and beech together with a colleague, who runs a stock 500i, and compared with that, my 592 is just on another level. (Stock). It weighs a bit more, but I don't have to refuel as often as him. And often I can hear his saw really running heavy and working hard, while my saw, in the same size wood, just rips and almost can't be pushed hard enough. I just can't slow it down. But thats just my opinion, tried em both, went with the 592, loving every moment of work.

That’s the biggest difference for me between Stihl and Husqvarna is the filtration. I absolutely hate the Stihl filtration because they get dirty constantly. I have to clean the Stihl filter often and the Husky almost never. Husky has figured out how to spin the dirt out of the air charge before the filter sees it.
@TheWanderingWrench
@TheWanderingWrench 2 года назад
That’s why you run Max Flows or velocity stacks
@jdatwood7086
@jdatwood7086 2 года назад
@@TheWanderingWrench Right that improves filtration for sure but to my point the Husky spins the dirt out through its intake design BEFORE it gets to the filter. This is what I like about the husky filters, they don’t even get dirty. I’m speaking from east coast perspective, I know the barks on the west coast can be very dusty or fire damaged.

@owtlawglock
@owtlawglock 2 года назад
Buy a Stihl and you have to buy an aftermarket air filter which will still plug all the time. the Stihl caps allow more debris in than the Husky's. Having the tensioner on the cover is also a better idea as it would be more accessible to replace if needed. The cases are a bit heavier duty on the Husky as well.

I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle ru-vid.comUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

Appreciate the review! Having a 3120, 395, 288 in the fleet I’d be curious to try the 592. Being a husky guy myself and recently picking up a Stihl i can say they’re both decent. The biggest thing I hate about Stihl is the deep inset fuel and oil cap. I find when fueling so much dirt and dust gets flushed into the tanks where as the husky’s don’t with the shallow caps. Just my 2 cents

We have pretty much all the 500 series Husqvarna at work and most the newer stihl saws 500, 462, 400 etc. My personal saws include the 288 I got brand new from overseas and a 395 and honestly I wouldn't give up my 395 for any of the newer ones. The 592 is a sweet saw it makes good torque and revs crazy high but it never feels like it's running in the power band to me either your in softwood or medium stuff and it just wants to 4 stroke like crazy or sit at 10k rpm which is fine I guess in that kinda stuff it's gonna rip still obviously is a huge saw and then in big wood it wants to drop super low out of the power band which is around 7-8k rpm. You can work with the chain and get it doing decent but next to my 395 there isn't much comparison running a 42 on my 395 I can pretty much lay on the saw and it just pulls harder in small stuff or softwood it might be a little behind the 592 but I don't really use a saw as big as a 395/592 unless I'm in some crazy stuff and in those times just seems better to have a saw you can load super heavy without losing most the torque. Also the 592 don't seem to oil anywhere near as well as the 395 we put new bars on the work saws and i put one on my 395 at the same time and the 592 had just smoked the bar within the first month. I mean it was a stihl light bar so it's still fine just knock off the lip made on rails due to heat but my 395 hasn't overheated the bar once even in nasty stumps. Overall I do think the 592 is still a great saw and for the most part you aren't gonna have anything one saw can do the other can't but the 395 just seems to do it all a little better while being cheaper and easier to fix.

Ford vs Chevy is a great comment on saws. I've talked to fellers and arborists up and down the east coast and in AZ, UT who are diehard Stihl guys, Husky, Jonsered and even a few that would run nothing but Sachs Dolmar. People can get very specific about their equipment. I did clearing in AZ on a national forest one summer and the company had Stihls. After a bit I ended up using an old Mcculloch that just cut better. All metal and much heavier but I was young and in college so didn't mind the weight.

Owning a 572xp and more recently a 395xp, using both relentlessly. Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but I'd rather have the manual adjust carbs and then transition right to fuel injected. The autotune can be frustrating sometimes in varied weather environments. My friend with a 661c-m had his saw shut off mid way through milling a board because the computer thought the saw was in jeopardy due to lack of air. Yet the filter was not very dirty at all. He had to take it to the shop for them to reset it before it would turn on again.

I can't stand the xtorq autotune BS either. They think we are too stupid to tune a carb. I don't like environmental regulations on saws either because it messes with the performance. It is the fault of California and the United Nations. By 2024, gas saws will be illegal in CA. CA gas will be 20% ethanol by 2025. Insane! Old saws are better.

@AnonbinArymouse-nm4ud It really all depends on the kind of cutting that you will be doing. The 7310 is kind of like the Toyota of that bunch. It’s reliable but not a hot rod especially out of the box. The 572 and 592 are good but heavy as is the Echo. The reliability on the Husqvarna products is spotty. Have you considered a 462? The only real gripe with the Stihls is the air filter but there are solutions for that.

Thought it was interesting they bragged on the 500 but stock might be the worst air filter set up! Glad you gave some unbiased review of husky. Price is always cheaper for a real comparable stihl saw.

I run both 592 and the 661 love them both. The 592 has a better sound and little more power. both have the 3ft bar and if need 42inch. Both terrible on on dino juice.

Best 3 saw line up includes a 592xp. In the middle, I pick the 400cm. And for the 50cc, take your pick, either 550xp MarkII or 545 MarkII. I like the 545 because it runs cooler (probably last longer too).

I've run Stihl and Husky both and both are good saws but I'll stick with my Huskies. I don't have a big need for a saw that size. I do get into some timber where a 90+ cc saw would be nice but my 372's always get the job done.

Husky is another level, Stihl is no bad saw, but has its downs, less rams, plasticy, coils attached to plastics. And blind of slower than husky!!

I was wondering if something had changed on your channel and lo and behold you decided to go out on your own! Congratulations and like many others have said it has made your channel very interesting. As I watch this video with you and Gord I couldn’t think of a better way to sit back enjoy a hot coffee and watch two great guys doing what they love doing. Got a kick out the logger explaining how to add that cut so the wood doesn’t tear. Looking forward to watching your journey. Happy New Year

Be humble learning the ability to fall timber with professionals. It's a dying breed and a very unique skill to obtain. Used to cut timber on the west coast in WA, before my boss got killed. RIP Mitch Jones. Sorry to hear about your friend, seems like a good buddy Gordie you got!

Great cameo appearance from the kids! Plus a good fair evaluation of the saw. I have both brands of saws and each has their strong points. One thing you didn’t bring up is the 592 is a epa saw and has non adjustable carb, and I believe auto tune . They run lean and hotter than adjustable carb saw’s like the 395 xp. Just have to let them cool down longer like my 661 mag.

Oh, wow, that was quite interesting. Put an extra cut beside the cut that will go all the way to the bottom of a downed tree. A person should never stop learning more subjects. Thank you for showing that to us viewers.

Tha is for the post. One thing I wish stihl had done is make all the pro saws have the option of the full wrap handles. I’m left handed so it sure makes a huge difference having the full wrap handle. Really enjoy watching your videos learn so much

Goes with oil and gas too. I’m American but I’ve worked for mostly Canadian companies and we were hi-vis fr coveralls. Went to an American company and they gave us non hi-vis fr clothing. Was kind of strange after years of the hi-vis. Makes more sense to me

I have ran still chainsaws because they’ve had a better motor mount system than the Husqvarna. I am very impressed with the new Husqvarna that you were using. I’d like to power I am used to 660 still which I like it’s real heavy and of course set a new MSI 500 which is a great saw feel injected, but I am very impressed with the new Husqvarna’s. Thank you for showing it be safe. My friend is very dangerous I know from experience.

I have a 500i that would make an excellent boat anchor. A stock 572xp will smoke a 500i. I used Stihl for years but Husqvarna left them in the dust about ten years ago. And anyone that wants to argue with me can dig in to my videos and see my proof. Not saying Stihls are bad, just saying they are not the best.

But you did notice that almost every good STIHL saw they brag about has at least $500 of mods done to them, big dawgs, ported cylinders, and so on, bone stock they just may be husky guys, stay strong
@jamiebrooks5597
@jamiebrooks5597 2 года назад
Timberslasher come on buddy, the 500i is about 10cc's more than the 572xp its not fair to compare. The 572xp is a nice saw like the 462ms however both those saws need more bottom end - torque. I would buy a 462ms over a 500i because the 462ms is better built. The 462ms powerhead is 13.2lbs and the 572xp powerhead is 14.5lbs I'm a Husky guy, however I would buy the 462ms that is a GREAT SAW however like the 572xp these 2 saw could use some work done to them to give them more torque. I have a 550xp and 592xp so I love my Huskies! In my humble opinion anyone who says the 500i is better than the 592xp is crazy! The 500i is better than the 592xp in this way only in my opinion - 500i powerhead is 13.9lbs and the 592xp is 16.2lbs. If the 592xp proves to be like the 395xp in performance and longevity then the 592xp would be one of the best saws to buy ever! Both Husky and Stihl make some great saw and both have made some not so good saws.
