592 is .5 lb lighter and is 7.6 hp vs 7.2 for Stihl. It's also a little cheaper. But then you have to consider the features and dependability. So really it's up to you.
Both saw are nice but the stihl got a muffler mod and you can clearly feel that improvement in power if you ever tried it on a saw which was stock before. So it's not really fair. Put them both in stock and the husky will overcome the stihl.
I own both of these saws STIHL 661 & Husqvarna 592 I do like switching around for different jobs The power is different Stihl 661 has better down low torque where the Husqvarna has more power up top at higher Rpm. They do have their good and bad points about them as you guys mentioned. I found the air filter isn’t any better than the Stihl small sawdust particles are getting through filter on 592 . I managed solve that problem with a bit of grease around the base of the filter. I am very happy to own both of these saws Stihl and Husqvarna 2 of best saws available.
You can tell you don’t have much experience with stihl caps. Ain’t nobody that’s used them that would take them over the husky caps. They’re leaky, they break, expensive when they do, and more picky about how you put them back in.
Nice video. I think both saws are monsters !! Right very few people will ever get a 3120 or an 880. Plus I’m sure it’s get old carrying a 125 cc saw after about 10 minutes.
I love the power in my mcculloch 125 and believe I'm going to be lost if it gose, power sure makes a big difference when cutting hardwood or anything big.
I picked up a 661c from a Guy who bought it for a job, before ge got the job. Have cut with the 32 bar but jut recently purchased a 25 light bar. Great comparison Guys!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
I have both saws and they're both top notch but if I had to pick one over the other I'd have to go with the 592 XP. Why? I Can't really put it into words except for the way it handles/feels when cutting.
I own some of both husky and stihl, one thing I really noticed is husky has better air filtration as you said, husky doesn't need cleaning as often as the stihl filters. My 500i has a similar air filter cover setup as the 661c and gets dirty quick. However the 462c platform I find is much better keeping the filter clean.
Good video. I actually like the chain adjuster more on my Husky than my 661. I think the Husky design puts less stress on the adjuster than Stihl. And I do pick my bars up when tensioning.
Looked at a new 592 today the only thing i noticed is the inner dog spike top bolt mount looks like it could snap off easily, but im planning on buying one tomorrow and hope it lasts
😂 I don’t think there is a clear winner, and I didn’t know which one would have the edge prior. I think it’s all in what feels best in your hand and the features the saw offers.
Until you start cutting 30"+ oak then the 661 shows the husky who daddy is plus the Stihl will always start better and they just keep getting better and better until they blow up unlike husky they get better until they get broke in and slowly lose power until they blow up.
@@redlinemotorcars2184 nowadays emissions kills everythink in europe and both theese saws are engineered in EU so its kinda sad like i would never imagined having restricted emissions on chainsaws . Anyway have a great day.
Your comparation miss some details, what about price (brand new), maintenance cost during one year explotation or something like that, break down or malfunction during one year, price for spare parts it would all interested me if buy new one. Sorry for my English I am from Croatia. Thanks otherwise enjoying video.By the way I own Husqvarna 372 XP for 19 years and now considering a purchase of 592Xp
Those are some good point we can add in future videos. Definitely get yourself a 592xp! You won’t regret it, it’s an awesome saw. Thanks for watching and giving us your input. Your English is actually pretty good for being from Croatia!
Great info and thanks ! I have 10 ash trees with 36 inch ++ trunks and probably will get the Husky 592XP. Any recomendations on a good setup - chain, oil etc. ? Thank you.
Use minimum 90 octane fuel mixed with a good synthetic oil. I personally don't use rec fuel because it costs a lot more and has additives that I just don't need. Just make sure your gas has no ethanol in it. If you can't find any premium or mid grade gas without ethanol, then go with rec fuel. Three musts for a long chainsaw life: proper fuel mixture; clean air filter; sharp, properly adjusted chain.
Thanks for nothing guys, I’m still stuck on which one I “need” to buy. All kidding aside, appreciate you doing the review. The question is if you took the bark box off how would it cut and compare to the Husky, in other words stock out of the box on both says. Appreciate your hard work or play, whatever you call it 👍TCT
I don’t think the bark box really helps much. West coast saw claims up to a 5% power increase. 5% on 7.2 hp would be 1/3 hp more than stock. For us it’s more for sound that anything. Can’t go wrong with either one!
Looking at purchasing a 661, the specs do not mention a bar over 30inches. I have seen one with a 36 inch on, and it still must run alright. Actually running a max bar on them, might be the difference, might be a good tell. When you are looking to buy one of them, Damn it is a hard decision, both pro's and con's..
Just because it’s a new saw does that mean it’s supposed to be night and day better than the 661? 661 is a really good saw, I don’t think it’s possible to combine less weight and a ton more power into a saw that’s going to blow the 661 out of the water.
I can't stand Stihl caps . And considering that Husqvarna tends to have a better or equal saw for the price compared to Stihl im sticking with huskies for now.
Hi guys! Stihl is a German conservative company that creates tuff saws even for older people or beginners without sharpening experience. Husqvarna is a Swedish progressive company only for experienced users. Here in Greece we say Husqvarnas broke only cause of the wrong sharpener.
Stihl makes up to date saw. Then they leave the 80's air filter on it. I bought a 661 yrs. Ago. 5 th. Tank of fuel shut off . Stihl tells me to take to dealer. Dealer charges $20 to hook up to laptop. (WTF)!!!!! FOUND OUT stihl had a whole lot of bad mtronic systems. Local dealer knew. THEY KEEP QUIET about it!!!!! 592 ALL THE WAY.
Get a ripsaw 592xp they make the best saws hands down. They port it do a custom exhaust advance the timing ect better clutch it is so high reving it slings wood like mad. The husky from ripsaw is just whicked. I love mine it tears ass.
How is this really a fare comparison the stihl has a bark box on it and anyone that noes anything about saws no the bark box is good for 1/2 hp or more that’s a big deal
We didn’t notice any power difference when we put the bark box on, we just like the sound. west coast saw says up to %5 power increase. But if a 70$ bark box is the deciding factor on why you buy a saw because it will make a lot more power than sounds like the stihl is the best bet for you. They both make a ton of power and even with the bark box I’d give the power edge to the Husqvarna.
