This is a channel of outdoor variety! We are not professionals and things we do reflect that! Firewood, tractors, trucks, off roading, and anything close to that! Lots of cool tools get used!

Hey Genin , that is a sweet machine . Very happy for you man. My wood yard is very small and if I was going to get something , it would be a mini . 👍🏻🇺🇸🪵
@@WilleysFirewood I really think if you’re using it for soley firewood it may be the best and most convenient loader to use. Good idea on renting first and figuring out which one you like best. Always cheaper to rent than make a mistake and buy the wrong tool. Thanks for watching!
Glad for ya Genin!! I figured this was coming 😉 I like that idea of being able to deliver totes of wood and place it where the customer wants. That’ll give you an advantage over some of your competition. I love tractors, but I find myself looking at these mini skid steers all the time😂😂 Enjoyed it!
Congratulations on the purchase of the new toy, I mean tool 😅. I believe that is an ideal woodyard machine. Bonus, when you load that, the Ultra, and the mini ex, you'll still have space on the trailer. Take care my friend.
Look at you go Genin!!! Sorry to lose you as a member of the Kioti family, but I think I can understand your reasoning as to getting rid of that for the mini ex and mini skid. I just hope that they both serve you well for a lot of years Bud!
@@outdoorsinthe608 I’m loving it so far! their online diagrams and parts schematics are great, can’t say that about all brands. But owning a used piece of equipment I find that to be very valuable in being able to find what you need and repair it without the help of a dealer.
@@obiorah1 I’ve seen them on dude ranch and rock hill farms, looks really great! I still have my log splitter I used on my tractor so I’ll be using that for big wood for now, until it breaks lol. This bobcat has a lot my hydraulic power than my tractor did.
Congrats! I gotta admit I may have wept a little during this video! I loved that Kioti tractor you had. I see the benefits of you having this Bobcat over your tractor though! Kind of the same reason I don’t own a tractor. My woodyard is small and there’s really not a lot that I could do with it other than lift logs and maybe push a little snow that doesn’t happen that often. I’m sure you’re gonna be happy with that machine. I wish you good luck with it, brother.👊🏻
@@everettthompson8301 it definitely suits me well. I didn’t want one bad enough that I was going to make a bad deal on my tractor to make this happen, but all went well and the deal got done. Tractor was great but excited to try this one!
Sweet, I’ve always been interested in the mini skid steers. Bummer you had to sell your Kioti but you still have your excavator so you should have most work options covered. Look forward to future videos to see if the mini is all you thought it was. Have fun👍TCT
Hi from Australia. I agree with you when it comes to working a bit harder for your firewood. I don't mind the extra work and it is great exercise. And being out in the woods/forest/bush what ever you call it, is like meditation.
Man, that's a lot of saw. TOO MUCH saw for me to carry. Those D-ring handles are the same kind I have on my sleds for crying out loud! But, I suppose, with that many c.c.'s and that much compression, you probably need that type of pull start!
It’s funny all my years logging 32” sometimes had 42” bar . Went we use 42” bar were on 12 to 15 Foot fir , cedar and hemlock timber. Old days run husqvarna 98 with old 2 digits # for years . Like see you boys now working on the side of mountain ⛰ for a 10 to 12 hrs day for 6 days . Might make 1/2 day , different them a wood 🪵 yard . Carry your solar power pack and electric sharper along the mountain 🏔 side . 😅😅
In 1990 I fell some 9 feet Douglas Fir near Tiller, Oregon, using a Sachs Dolmar with a 60” bar. That was the only time we ever worked in pairs, because you really want one person just hammering the wedges. You really don’t want to give trees that size even the slightest chance to set back on you.
As someone who doesn't know anything about chainsaws, is a saw that long more or less dangerous re it kicking up? I imagine it might be more likely to get pinched....but I have no idea.
IMHO shorter bar is more dangerous for kickback as the shorter bar creates a shorter arc, the most prone area for kickback is the tip and both bars have basically the same tip just further from the operator. Longer bar may be more prone to pinching as there is more bar to pinch.
@@tylerj6589 mine blew out within 2 minutes of running the saw. I emailed them and let them know about the problem. Not a big deal to me but they did offer to send me a new screen.
Interesting review ..@johngardener 3020 below is right on the money ...my 2cents...I have an old 460 that's a screamer ..with a barker box and max flow running square ground chain its my favourite bucking / limbing saw and close to my 500i ..however a 28" bar on my 500i and its chain speed with square ground is impressive. My advice if you're buying a new saw get the 500i ( unless you are very short don't get the 20" bar ..go the 25" or better if you're above 6ft tall the 28" or a very good second hand 460 /461/462 ...don't get an ex logger saw ..get 1 from someones who's been doing their firewood every year ... maybe 3-4 cord. ..that saw will go to your grandkids
It’s too small, and poorly braced for your tractor. My dealer sold me the same one for my B2301, and when I found out that the 54” is designed for BX ONLY…I insisted they take it back, and they gave me the 60” for a slight increase in price. Btw… what were you doing to bend the tines so badly?
Nice vid Genin! I'd like to stop by Chris' place and do some cutting with him too. I'm guessing you stopped in there either before or after going to the Wolfe Ridge show?
