Why do we need to begin recycling nutrients from human waste?
The use of chemical fertilizers is at an unsustainable level and their
production is both environmentally destructive and expensive.
To secure food production and to make it more sustainable we need
new sanitation technologies which enable the recycling of nutrients
also from human waste. And we need to understand that our
waste is not waste.
The video is part of The Dry Collective's exhibition 'Huussi - Imagining the future history of sanitation', commissioned and produced by Archinfo for the Pavilion of Finland at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia.
