My well has this type of connection, I'd never seen it before and your video gave me the confidence to remove it. I don't take electrical lightly and sweated a little bit when I opened my control panel and saw that type of breaker.
Wowww.. thank you so much. Saved me probably hours of frustration and troubleshooting. Can't figure out who the heck did it as I didn't have any maintenance or work being done but ac stopped working yesterday and it turns out that disconnect was inserted the wrong way (off position). Flipped it and of course it turns on..!!! Thank you again.
Can I put a lever type disconnect box or single breaker box instead of that pull tab type disconnect. Im not a fan of the pull tab design. Thanks for your reply.
Omg I was so scared to touch it my house is newly renovated and I saw that the hvac wasn’t spinning it’s so hot in my house and the air will not work but the heat do so I watch your video and saw that it was a quick fix but before I watched your video I called someone to fix it because it’s brutally hot maybe 95 degrees they wanted $349 to fix it. Thanks so much because it took me 2 minutes to turn it on I just had it installed durning the winter as the house was almost finished and I guess they forgot to turn it on. Thanks so much this helped a lot. It’s now working
Dose the disconnect only break continuity or does it have a fuse component? My AC condenser quit running, and am wondering if this could be the issue? My fan threw a blade, and it wedged in the coil and stalled the motor. It did not trip the main breaker. I replaced the fan, and it ran for a few days then died. The fact that the motor was getting power, and not allowed to spin, tells me something got stressed (my electric bill) and it could just be the motor itself. This disconnect would be an easy fix if that is what it could be.
I am unable to pull out the pullout. Can I turn off the main circuit breaker for the AC unit and proceed with replacing the run capacitor? I’m look for suggestions how to do this safely.
Mine unit stopped working last year. Had two techs come out to give me a quote. Had someone I k ow that has been doing this for 30 years take a look at it and noticed there was no breaker at the outside unit. 😡 he said that could be the problem and will he putting one in and then we can test it again

Nice vid, thanks for the info,,,, but I've tried to pull mine straight out but it won't come out,,,, it's like it is stuck or something, any ideas ???? thank you....
@@waterhill Interesting as it was, I wasn't able to pull it out as I mentioned in my comment, but I rent the house I live and maybe was a bit timid pertaining to the "pulling" process if you will. The person who they sent over to fix it was really, really cool and great at his job, but none the less, he gripped it and yanked it right out. But only after agreeing it was very hard to pull out. So, he just grabbed it and ripped it out, and it worked. He said to me, if I break it, then it's on me, but if you break it then it's on you, which is not cheap to replace from what I understand. Hope this helps, but I'm not sure it will. But good luck anyway. but if you do just grip and rip; be very careful. I AM NOT AN ELECTRICIAN, but make sure all of your electric is off to the unit you're working on... GOD BLESS and take care....
