Thank you for such a clear, concise and succinct video. It was doing my head in trying to figure that out and I never would've thought of turning the wah on, or off like that.
This was perfection! I have been trying to figure out how to use my exp as an optical wah so I do t have to use a snapshot. Now I just push down on ky doot and the way kicks on and I'm off to tue races ! I back ot off and it shuts off! You ARE A GENIUS!
Dude you rock and I am ever so grateful to you for your patience with me to help you with this. As bad as I feel that I could not assist you with this, I am thrilled to see you figured it out. You rock on countless levels!
This is very helpful, currently planning to buy a DVP4 mainly as an exp pedal for the stomp and I was worried how I would switch the block on/off and this really clarified things for me. Thanks!
This is just amazing Brad! Thanks so much for taking the time to share this vital piece of information- using the Fassel wah now with my Dunlop Vol (x) pedal :)
So you can however because volume pedals use 250k or 500k pots and most expression pedals use 10k. sometimes using a volume pedal it can be more sensitive and audio tapper not as smooth but it will still work.
@@brad-guitar-miller813 thanks will try tommorow and see the results .. basically I'll need just for whammy and wah ..let's see I'll post here how it goes
It has every effect you could ever need (as well as amp models) since that Marshall you have has an effects loop you can route in and out from the HX stomp and by using just the return into the amp you could turn that Marshall into a 5150 or Fender. You got my number if you have questions.
Thanks for watching. Looks like that should work, but I really don't know for sure. The specs on the pedal says 100K which is not a typical volume pedal so it may be very sensitive to changes. If you try it let me know how it works.
Hi there...great tutorial but I have a question. How can I do to disconnect the effect once the pedal is down...I mean when the pedal is down to toe not at the heel , right unlike you did in the video.....thanks in adavnce
yep...I´ve tried it but the reaction is different. Once I set up the milliseconds to disconnect the effect when the toe gets the end it does not work propely....the HX does not recognize the time (I´ve try it even with one second of wait) ...I mean: the pedal disconnect the FX once it gets the end (toe) but with NO WAIT...this way is impossible to control the fx
I´m used to a cry baby dunlop wha...so I want to start the wha sweeping from the toe zone instead of having the expression pedal always angled/open...this way it´s dangerous to me because I can touch the expression pedal interacting with the other pedals and engage the assigned fx to the E.P....thanks for your answer
i'm not sure. i looked but there are no documents for that pedal. Looks like it has a stereo plug (TRS) on it if so you will have to make a cable so that only the sleeve/gnd and most likely the tip are connected. You will need a meter to check to see which one goes from 0 ohms at the heal to most likely 10K at the toe.
Some have a resistor on the wiper arm. If you look for expression pedal schematic you will see various versions. The HX uses 0-10K input. If you get stuck you can open the pedal and take a picture i may be able to help. Or you may be able to email M-audio for a schematic.
Regarding the wah effect: can I use any of Dunlop wah's or my vox 847 for an expression pedal without influencing the HX Stomp output? Or what would you recommend?
