This is pure genius! I am a total newbie. I did my first warp with a peg and thought there has to be an easier way. I have watched so many videos, but this is the best method. Totally foolproof. Thank you!!!
You are my hero! I have thrown full tantrums over warping. You solved my dilemma! I have suffered!! Oh, what joy to find your three videos!!! My new guru, I am so glad to find you. Subscribed, and all notifications. My husband is going to make me a second warping board, because using the LeClerc while winding (it is upright) is all tears. And running across the house for a long warp is horrible. Now I don't have to go through the paroxysms, you have made it understandable and simple. Thank you!
I just warped my rigid heddle. Thanks for a great 3 parts series that gave me courage to try again. My mom is 92 and she cannot wait for me to bring the loom to her so she can weave . Thank you for giving us this activity to share and make memories.
You’re changing lives with this! Thank you for your videos, I’m teaching myself to weave and this is extremely helpful. Warping is so much easier with this method.
I'm one of those who move my loom to the front door and set my warping peg at the patio door so that I can weave a decent length of fabric. So THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amy thank you for the help! I have been dependent on my husband to help me warp my Ashford for years since I hurt my back nine years ago. I have been taking classes for years in weaving and it has never been suggested that I could use my warping board for anything other than 4 shaft weaving. Thank you for your help. I too can have my warping independence, Gwen .
I have to add, thank you for the paper idea so my wool won't lock together, and silks won't tangle. And the chain idea is brilliant--no more undoing and starting over because I dropped it or it fell out of the slots while I was loading the holes.
I have just bought my loom and so many of the warping videos made it look harder than it is. Your video is great. Takes up such a small space do do your warping. Thank you so much for your videos.
This is BRILLIANT. I've always had to weight down a chair because my table was not long enough for a single scarf warp and the clamped peg would always bend about halfway through the process. I am so using this technique the next time I warp my rigid heddle.
So excited to find your video. This is a great help and I can’t wait to get started with a longer warp. Now I must order the c-clamps. Thanks for posting!
Thank you! I've been trying to find a good video to learn how to use the warping board my husband made me. Your instruction was clear, concise and not at all confusing as the others I found were. Thank you! Be well - be safe.
For the clamps, visit your local hardware store and ask for adjustable clamps for woodworking. I swear by these and have even used them as a warping peg. I have also used bungee cords for holding my loom in place on the table while warping.
At my class, we use large (30+ oz) coffee cans (the aluminum/tin ones) to hold the yarn cones for warping and for when we wind bobbins. The plastic cans don't work as well.
Thank you!!!! I have watched many "how to" and this is by far the best video series on the web. You explain everything. You show how and why you're doing what you're doing. I am grateful that you've done these videos. My weaving life will be less stressful. *i ask why you don't secure and cut the left from right (top/bottom) at the last warp peg. If you secure the last warp peg, on both sides, it'll separate the down heddle threads from the top and it'll make it easier to thread the heddle.
Haven't watched this in a while ;-) But I'm guessing that I may change directions as I'm going and at some point go on one side and other times go a different direction ;-)
Why not? 😉 There are some other Kromski owners that have done it. And I had them in mind when I made the series 😃 what are you running into that would keep it from working?
