It does! I have that purple lighting right above my Hydrasynth in my studio! Maybe I should have had it on for the entire video, lol!

@@luciano.armani I have it set up pretty efficiently. The payment link is entirely automatic. The email response is semi-automatic, although yes, I'm personally hitting the 'send' button. But very little effort is required on my part. The occasional problems arise when people don't read the instructions and/or the customer fails to look in their junk-mail folders and I need to then get personally involved.

@@Demonstrations_SP Don't give secrets away, but I can't for the life of me get a decent string sound. Did you start with Saw or a mutated pulse?

@@stevejeffries5403 It's been awhile, and I can't remember for certain, but I think that it is most likely Saw waveform based. But that's far from the most crucial element. I don't mind giving away my "secret" as I want players to be getting maximum expression from their instruments. So here it is: What makes it convincing is the touch response programming. Specifically, it is setting the envelopes (mainly the amp envelope) a certain way, along with assigning velocity response to the attack portion. Assigning volume and a modicum of tone control to aftertouch is also helpful towards that end. However, it can take some time to dial in that response towards getting a convincing sound, so patience and perseverance is necessary. And then, it is all up to the player to play it convincingly. I hope that is helpful.

@@leonmatthias321 Thank you! I got the Hydrasynth in April, so a few months to make 64 patches of the quality in this video. I’ve been a pro sound designer (among other related things) for many years. I don’t always opt to sell my creations, but due to the response I’ve received on this video, I’m currently packaging a 64 patch bank to sell directly. It should be ready in a week or so, and I will post a notice here making the announcement! 😀

Thanks. Certainly you can connect an external MIDI keyboard, but as far as I know, almost none exist which generate polyphonic aftertouch, so a lot of the expressive type of things I’m doing in this demo would not really be possible. You can connect a ROLI Seaboard or other MPE compatible controller to achieve a high level of expression (see my latest video playing the Hydrasynth from a Seaboard Rise), but that’s a different sort of beast and is not for everyone. I am currently offering a bank of patches based on many the ones in this demo, but are optimized for MPE controllers like the Seaboard. Through April I’m offering that as a free bonus bank with purchase of the main collection.

Unfortunately, no. As the Ribbon controller has some unique characteristics, such as the ability to play notes, its functions would be difficult to replicate on a generic controller, and there are no other suitable controllers on the desktop version. Nevertheless, it should be possible to patch in an external MIDI controller assigned to the same MIDI CC or NRPN assigned to the Ribbon controller on the keyboard version in order to access some of those functions.
