Remember the scene of "Terminator" (1984), Kyle and Sarah sitting in the car after escaping from "technoir". Sarah: "The cannot make things like that yet!" Kyle: "Not yet. Not for about 40 years!"
@@therealpepsicat Electric drive is more compact, more precise, and more easily adaptable. Quieter too. It's obvious this new form could lead to a ground combat man drone. The early supply carrying four legged combat mule being tested for the Marine Corps was hydraulic powered. The hydraulic pump was loud as hell.
This robot is an evolution of a Korean design that won a DARPA sponsored robotics contest about ten years ago. Korean Hyundai and American Boston Dynamics marries advanced hardware with advanced software. Parkour running on a versatile electrical chassis is the new benchmark.
Hyundai bought Boston Dynamics. Hydraulic power is smooth, powerful, but heavy. The electric drive is smooth, powerful, and very precise. It's the way to go going forward. The new Atlas is better articulated and compact. Easily adaptable.
@@gabsmellow6750I'm going to play devil's advocate and say this: I believe he's right to not trust the authenticity of Boston Dynamics' bipedal robots, remember the debacles involving people in costumes pretending to be robots?
The mountains in the background are clearly computer animated. Look at the way the light reflects on certain parts also clearly animated. It's possible this is a concept for a real android but this is obviously an animation.
@@jarrensmith1060bruh, that dark part in the windows that make the out doors like that is a tipe of plastic that filters the light, thats why it looks weird, and dont say someting like "ThERe iS noT sUhC pLasTiC LikE THAt"cuz they exist and the use it for every window, even from buses, and your wondering that why the out door is unfocused, its due to the camera is mostly focusing on the bot and i have seen this vid 20 times and i havent detected any anomaly or awkward movement on the footage, i have seen alot of AI images and videos trough the past 3 years and i can tell you :this is not ai generated
@@jarrensmith1060and btw they're not "montains" they are trees, have you ever heard about trees? and if you ask why only the top of the trees can be seen is to evident that they are in a 2nd floor
