Philippines Asiga River small-scale hydroelectric plant - Japanese manufacturer to procure water turbine generators
The Japanese manufacturer Voith Fuji Hydro K. K. (“Voith Fuji”) is to procure water turbine generators for the 8 MW Asiga River small-scale hydroelectric plant in the province of Agusan del Norte on Mindanao Island. The project is now being implemented by the special-purpose company (SPC) Asiga Green Energy Corporation (“AGEC”), which was establised by Chodai Co., Ltd. and Equi-Parco Construction Company, the largest general contractor on Mindanao Island (headquartered in Butuan City on the island), as well as two other Filipino companies.
On December 6th, Mr. Akinori Ido, Senior Executive Director at Chodai, Mr. Ronnie Vicente Lagnada, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Equi-Parco and representative for AGEC, and Mr. Masayoshi Nakai, overseas sales manager at Voith Fuji, signed the procurement contract for water turbine generators for the 8 MW Asiga River small-scale hydroelectric plant. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), which has provided support for the project in fiscal year 2011 under the “Infrastructure System Acquisition Assistive Technology Cooperation” scheme, was also represented by Policy Planning Director Mr. Tadashi Sugawara.
The main specifications of the contracted water turbine generators are as follows:

ANECO, Inc and Asiga Green Energy Corporation sign agreement on 8MW Asiga Mini-hydro Power Project
On June 18, 2013 at ANECO Multi-Purpose Hall, Butuan City, the signing of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and Power Supply Interconnection Agreement (PSIA) for 8MW Asiga Mini Hydro Power Project was held.
During the program, GM Horacio T .Santos- General Manager of ANECO, Inc. delivered his opening message and the overview about the power project was presented then by Engr. Darwin Daymiel- TSD Manager of ANECO, Inc. After all the presentations, the event speakers delivered their respective messages and responses to the power project. Provincial Governor Erlpe John Amante strongly proffered the message of commitment towards development and inspired everyone to dare to think big. According to him, the new generation of people like the board of directors, management and staff of ANECO, Inc. are now thinking big because they venture for a bigger picture of development. He clearly emphasized that all the initiatives taken by ANECO,Inc and its stakeholders like entering into power contracts is a clear manifestation of advancing our thinking into a bigger picture for the development. The ANECO President- Dir. Dioscoro P. Boco and the Asiga Green Energy Corporation- Mr. Ronnie Vic C. Lagnada, also proffered their messages of unity and strong commitment towards energy sustainability. A closing note then was given then by the BOD Secretary- Dir. Gilberto Enriquez.
The highlight of the program was the signing of the Power Purchase Agreement and Power Supply Interconnection Agreement between the Asiga Green Energy Corporation by its President, Mr. Ronnie Vic C. Lagnada and ANECO, Inc. through its President, Dir. Dioscoro P. Boco and was witnessed then by Gov. Erlpe John Amante- Provincial Governor and GM Horacio T. Santos, General Manager of ANECO, Inc.
The referred Mini Hydro Power Project in the Agreement is situated in Brgy. Pangaylan, Santiago, Agusan del Norte. This power will be directly embedded to the ANECO power line.
The signing made is an enabler in advancing ANECO and partners of development towards energy sustainability. The realization of the said project will create more job opportunities and revenue generation to our local economy.
