This is a compilation of tremendously powerful explosions and bottle rocket launches powered by hydroxy (HHO) gas made by a little generator I whipped up over the weekend. The water bottles seemed to make OK rockets, but I couldn't get them to explode. Quite a shame, since I wanted shrapnel for the video. Ah well.
The large bubble packaging bags, however, exploded with an exciting boom and an astonishing echo. I'd compare them to a shotgun blast or greater.
I was using The King of Random's electric matches for lighting these, although I think a simple barbecue spark igniter might be more reliable.
The generator just uses a plus-minus-plus-minus, etc. configuration of steel appliance scrap sheet metal. If I build another generator, it will definitely be stainless steel. Also, in powering the generator, pay attention to the current draw. I killed my power supply by overloading it with the generator's impressive current draw, so I'll have to dilute the electrolyte and try again.
