I remember watching the documentary "Eternal Enemies" and couldn't help thinking that with lion VS hyena, it seemed to resemble aerial battles in the Pacific theater of WWII, with hyenas being similar in tactics to the Zero and the lion to an F6F. The hyena is much slower, but both have a very powerful bite. Lions can't easily defend themselves if flanked though, but can take a much greater beating than hyenas can.

Sad how you didn't mention how intelligent they are, most studies show that Hyenas are much more intelligent than canines.

I know it's nature and natural but part of me can't help but feel super sad watching them rip apart and start eating the animal before its dead. I wish they'd shoot the poor animal dead so it didn't suffer instead of watching the hyenas eat it to death. I know you can't intervene but I could never sit there and just watch :(
