Finally got a brewery floor that's designed for the job.

Fantastic floor, Colour is less important than you bank balance. God, I wished I lived closer, I'd love to get up there for one of your open days.

Awesome job on the floor🤩 As expected I think, removing the kit, some more adjustments to be made, more footage for us I hope🤗 Understand the taproom struggle but it needs time, I'm confident you'll find the balance. Just saw lots of joy those first openings👌

The floor looks good, Andy. Just tell folks it's a blue brick colour that is more brick than blue. Actually it's a similar colour to the quarry tiled floor in my kitchen brewery.

Great listening to your thoughts regarding the tap room. Amazing no profits were made from Folk n Boat weekend but it makes sense..Good news is though profits can be made from a normal weekend..the floor looks like a really neat job...glad things are coming to for you Andy...worked hard mate🍺👍

The floor looks fantastic Andy I really like the colour 👍before you put all your equipment back would it be beneficial to put some kingspan or something similar on that back wall to help keep the brewery warmer during the winter? Cheers Andy

The wall is the easy part, it's the roof that's the big problem with heat retention

Floor looks great Andy. I'm a retired graphic designer so I might have had an issue with branding but completely understand the financial considerations. Really enjoy seeing your steady growth and passion for producing great beer and your local community.

Great update Andy and loving the epoxy floor as well, bit outside my equipment/skillset but who knew about the blown screed on there, that surface should be good for many years to come 🔥

Does Middlewich not have a train station, looked at coming in July and it is over 2hrs from Wigan by public transport. Google is saying I get the train to Crewe then a number 37 bus to Middlewich getting off at Cats Bar. Can you move the brewery somewhere near a train station please?

Used to have one. The line’s still there jist there’s no station. Went in the 60’s I think, now it’s freight and diversions only. There’s a campaign to re-open it. Winsford and Sandbach stations are nearest then an Uber. Wigan-Crewe-Sandbach/Winsford.

Also, you can drive and stay over at the Newton Brewery/White Bear/Boars Head/Kinderton. I can’t really recommend as I’ve never stayed!

Slight worrying to see none of the workers were wearing masks when grinding the floor. Concrete dust contains harmful silica particles.

There were definitely masks in other parts of the process, during mixing particularly. Good point though! The grinding was almost dustless to be honest - I was fascinated by that. The vacuum attached to the grinder was massive.
