@@groovyman1330 well I’m pretty sure 90% of the country wasn’t satisfied with the USSR especially the satellite states, where both of my parents come from (Hungary), and who doesn’t want to live in a country where the government is a joke, you get in-prisoned for stating your mind, where they brainwashed by the media, etc... western people can joke around with how great “communism” was, for a lot of people, it was bad... and it wasn’t even communism... in a true communism everyone is the same so there wouldn’t be a leader, so the whole ideology of the USSR was far from the truth
So I'm in Choir and I just came up with an idea. Instead of me singing the USA anthem before a basketball game I'll sing this and get terrorized by everyone in the community... But aye, I'll go down in my countys history book if I sing it well enough
So, I did it. I forgot that I wrote this so this is an update. I sang it and as I predicted, the community was not happy. I live in a small community so everybody knows each other. Their faces of shock were worth it tho.
I'm American, not one bit of Russian Blood in me, but this anthem is ALOT better than our anthem. It is much more easy to remember, I can hardly remember any of the lyrics to our own anthem.
I memorized the U.S anthem the first few times I actually listened to it. (Also try learning this song in true Russian, and not the english alphabet ones, that's cheating.)

I find that many people confuse this song with the country. The anthem is incredible. The country was horrible. It's very important to keep a work of art seperated from it's creator in some cases. This is one of those cases.

What do you mean "Ignoring the hsitory". For the entire history of the USSR it was secluded and boycotted by the west, and destroyed by Germany. It it wasn't for them Germany and Japan would border. It was riducled and steriotyped for it's entire history and still industrealised in 15 years, and had effectively NO unenployment or homelessness. I do agree this song is fire, but it's really sad they never grew. Communist contries are semingly unintresting governmets but then you realised EVERYONE is homed and employed. If you say "What about Freedom of Speech??" and I say not to prevent extremists from rising up. That is the USSR's worst fear after WW2.
