I had, once, mentioned Hyperion when I had watched the origin story of The Sentry. I first seen this character in Aventures Assemble but who knows what he would look like in the MCU.
I can see henry cavill joining the MCU as Hyperion, but throw in a bit of The Sentry in his id make up with the duel personality of good and evil, and that would a winning combo for me. This would lead up to a redemption arc for Hyperion becoming the hero that he was always meant to be.
You completely missed the darkest Hyperion timeline, along with each of the other characters own arcs. I believe this was done under a subsidiary brand, owned by Marvel, at least at the time, because they could afford to show the bloodshed that Marvel could not. It was the single best arc of these characters, along with the Squadron Supreme, and culminated with a crossover with Marvel characters duking it out. Incredibly satisfying and definitely adult in nature.
Hyperion has a load of potential as a human flawed peron who is completed and kept on the straight and narrow by a friend or two. Insanely powerful but flawed and emotionally developing person that is relate-able because of his need for development [that is key to Marvel characters in general]. Thought him duking it out with Gladiator or types like Juggernaut was always entertaining [kinda like the time Gladiator slammed the thing with a Battleship that was just kinda handy in the harbour next to where they squared off] lol
I always thought Hyperion was cool, but he needs more to separate him from Superman. A backstory that actually sticks, or maybe his powers being slightly different like Gladiators. I don’t think a design change would matter.
@@SinisterWarlock Hyperion, Blue Marvel, Superman, and Sentry all have different sources for their power, but roughly all have the same abilities. Just saying he’s evil and his source is radiation vs sunlight doesn’t distinguish him enough. I meant more like something that Gladiator has where his confidence affects his strength level. Something to distinguish him from the rest of the Superman copy cats. Kinda how Sentry has Void.
@@virtualrealityfitness283 That was my favorite origin for him. The Eternal one never made sense since no one ever specified if he was a celestial Eternal from another world, because that wouldn’t explain why he’s so strong. Then again, Eternal power levels are always fluctuating like everything else in comics.
I think you missed the true initial charm of the original Squadron Sinister who were obvious JLA copies. Then when the Squadron Supreme appeared, they had increased their roster with copies of yet more JLA members - there was even an Avengers cover that was a pastiche of the JLA/JSA annual crossover covers, which always showed headshots of both team's members down each side. I was there when they first came out and remember near wetting my teenage pants at Marvel's brazen cheek!
Hyperion is a universal threat in physical form. *Punched through Galactus skull, stopped juggernaut, KOed hulk+, and called a Sun God by Proxima Midnight in front of Thanos*
Why didn’t you include possibly the best version from the Marvel MAX imprint? The Hyperion of Supreme Power was one of the lost interesting versions of Hyperion.
Hard to give a fuck about hyperion when every single version eventually regresses into a generic ultraman rip because the old blood at marvel have long since ran out of ideas. The closest we ever got to a perfect hyperion was pre secret wars when he was bros with thor and genuinely felt like a lost soul from another dimension, not sure how to fit into his new home after he died and came back he became another generic vanilla superman knock off.
@@gawdtheblessedone4681 Hyperion was crated first I do agree that Gladiator is stronger but Hyperion was the first Superman of Marvel Gladiator is one of my favorite characters in Marvel and I think he’s cool but Hyperion is and will always be Marvel’s Superman
ill be honest. I think the version where he is raised by the American government would be a more realistic superman cause really your telling me a farmer could hide an alien? Lol the government would be all over that. It would fit in to with the whole we have our own guy we dont need the avenger anymore until he finds out he is being used to do some questionable stuff and becomes lone wolf. They could also use that arc to make him friends with Thor. I think henry cavill and chris hemsworth could have a bro thing it would be kool. Starting with him turning on the american government could be the reason for the Thunderbolts movie. They need a team to even attempt to bring him down.
Captain marvel deff not stronger than no Hyperion any of them how can you pick captain marvel over sentry too? 👀 That's crazy smh sentry deff up there if not maybe surpass Hyperion if we including the void
@@shaunarzu4558 base hyperion could tank 2 universes exploding and all the dimensions that come with those infinite universes and survived in the white void who only abtracts can survive that man is op
Hyperion gets his powers from the sun as well, and yeah Gladiator also qualifies I think but pretty sure Hyperion is seen as the most Superman out of them all
@@admirosmanovic1368 how do you know? Sentry strong enough to keep two universes collapsing on each other? I mean u could be right but I thought that feat might put him above sentry.
@@sethswint1396 plus he has the void which is another level but sentry alone is so powerful and had more feats then hyperion he had reality warping abilities hes just over powered like a motherfucka lol I'm not sayin hyperion is weak but hes not sentry level
@@admirosmanovic1368 that’s just a saying there is nowhere that says it’s an actual thing lol 😂 and a universe has more than a million suns. Keeping two universes from collapsing on each other to me would take more power to do.
Marvel doesn't have a Superman, because Marvel doesn't have True Hero's. Everyone is self motivated by their own personal agenda. No one does Good, simply because it is the right thing to do. I can hear the Marvel Boys clenching their butts up getting all mad at this comment, but tough titties. Best Marvel Characters: Sentry Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers) Moon Knight Best DC Characters: Superman Batman Wonder Woman Best, Greatest, Hero of ALL TIME?? Superman. The best of the best.
Marvel has a lot of Superman analogs in their comic book universe, their superhuman attributes, abilities, and powers are practically the same with some differences here and there to differentiate from one another. Some of these analogs are more powerful than others like the sentry and others are a lot less powerful like Ikaris of the Eternals Then there's Blue Marvel a living stable, antimatter generator and reactor, superhuman powerhouse being who's strong enough to hold his own against Hulk and Thor together and stalemated Sentry.
Henry caville would play an epic gladiator or Hyperion . So pissed in endgame Hyperion wasn't part of the team like the comics .. we need the shit and gladiator and Hyperion in the MCU already
Only one minor niggle. You completely forgot about the Hyperion from Earth 31916 (The Supreme Power storyline by Michael J. Straczynski) unless I missed it.
That was so well written and had a few really epic moments. Shooting himself int he eye. The letter to the military and the arctic strike. The duel with Redman. And then is Ultimate Power his response to being imprisoned by the Invisible Woman's force field.
