Yes it is as a combine operator its your job to double check. Everything hydraulic oil engine oil def fluid fuel I been running combines 29 years on the farm so it's vital that the operator pre checks ✔️ like we did when I was in the u.s.air force when I was F-15C eagle fighter flight mechanic
That's one thing I hated about John deere hoppers was how much bracing and other junk that traps grain in the hopper.. my 9600 is a bitch to clean out...the TRs on the other hand are so neat and tidy...
Give you an A+ for keeping that many combines rolling and from the combine seat not only combine but carts trucks and unloading although that later processing not quite as technical with short crops.
This is probably the first year ive seen mike not look shattered during harvest i understand its early but you can tell that the issues of the last 2 years have gone.
@@kaisersion7003 if ya can't see the BOWLING BALLS from the WELKERS, cuz the canipy is like 5 feet tall (OVEREXXAGERATION THERE FOR DRAMA EFFECT) but if the CANIPY IS WAY TALL, you gotta worry more about the CLUNKS and CLANKS that ya can't see COMMING.... (right??) seems that alone COULD actually HELP RELEIVE SOME OF THE ANXIOUS STRESS OF ''what was THAT??? did you hear that NOISE????'' game! at least in my head it seems so ;) HAVE A GREAT DAY! (or mabbie its cuz he has a FAMILY NOW, so running WAY OTHER SIDE OF RAGGED LINE AT GO TIME ALL THE TIME, can be shifted from HIGH GEAR down a could downshifts AND STILL GET'ER DONE??? just a possible from just an observer making assumption from EDITED VIDEOWz lol but it is tru HE SEEMS MORE CALMER and mello about it this time, nothing we can do about it but DO IT!!! so :) no use gettin all worked up about what you can only DO SOMETHIHNG ABOUT ...just need to make sure WE DO THE BEST WE CAN WITH THAT SOME THING.... or words to that effect ;)
Love the content Mike and appreciate all the work you do so we can view your videos that is outside of farming. Loved seeing all the combines together with the grain carts as well. Would really like to see what you travel with for support vehicles as well. Not just fuel trucks, but how many pro tills, water trucks and sources do you have in hand in the event of a worst case scenario if a fire?
Mike, you're forgetting the most important function of the combine, how loud is the X9 horn, give it a blast please? ...and yes that did hurt when you dropped us!
@@quadg5296Lol... yeah I know I’m just sayin that 2.8 bushel is hard to comprehend coming from a corn and bean farmer that is disappointed in 180 corn and 50 bushel beans.
You look a lot less stressed now that the ideals are gone, I would love to see a video on what finally made you switch and the whole situation. Thanks for sharing as always!
Fuel use is lower than I would have thought 0.4 gallons per acre that’s pretty good. Loved to view of 8 combines travelling down the highway with 50 ft headers on. So wide open where you are amazing. You combine 40 acres an hour most guys in the uk think they have a good day if they did 40 acres. Though they would have done like 160 ton of wheat so no comparison really.
When Honeybee split, 'center hinge' their heads and with the heads in full smile, 60 footer head, 'wing' tips will be up in the clouds. When Honeybee & MacDon in Canada and Midwest in Auz land go into production with their new triple hinged 70 and 80 footer heads, those crops will be a shakin in their stalks.
@@symbologee Beef up the root end of the unload auger and extend the auger. - Nothing wrong with a mid span brace for support that would swing with a long unload auger Or Make the unload auger and its pipe to scope out instead of having to fold a long auger along the back of the combine. (figuring out how to scope out to screwed flighting could be a tricky one) - heck just blow the kernels out the pipe and not have an auger. Or Like the Auzzies do, have an extension on the side of the grain cart when they are running 60 foot heads.
@@symbologee Ive seen grain carts used in Australia that have a conveyor that swings out to reach the auger. With an 80 ft you could swing the auger back slightly and drive the cart behind the header
@@lynwessel2471 Great minds think alike as I was also thinking about that. Self propelled grain carts with the drivers elevating cab at the back of the cart would work well, otherwise with a tractor, the unload auger would have to be angled back too far impeding the combine operators view of the spout end of the auger and the dust storm coming out of the back of the combine may contaminate the grain in the cart. Synthetic vision like that used in some aircraft could be used or a camera in the combines cab to see the spout end could eliminate the need to see the real thing.
What you should try is a RavPower 32,000 mah battery power bank charger. Using a high speed cord, it works pretty good and is designed to recharge your phone for almost a week before it needs to be charged up again. I got it off Amazon. Some of my best charging cords have come from the truckstops. 10 foot long braided cords
What a massive fleet! You Guys are blessed! You couldn't move any of that stuff around here with the header on! Lol Thats a great thing that yall can! Great review! I pray the yields pick up! And Man you violently departed from us!😅
Awesome Videos, Mike. The shot from the top of the combine moving down the road looked like a John Deere Commercial. I wish the Ideal Combines would have been better. I worked at an AGCO dealer in the 1990’s, always liked Gleaner Combines. But it really depends on what you have for dealer support in your area. Thanks for sharing your time and videos.
hello from Denmark.. it really is a big farm you have with so many combine harvesters. here in Denmark, most farmers have a maximum of 2 maize lovers. ha ha .. why is the grain so small with you? here in Denmark the grain is high, there is plenty of straw when it is harvested?
Still can’t figure out why you’re getting on the roof. Obviously they don’t think we should be up there or they would have put access steps on the machines
What brand of auger extensions did you buy to put on the s series to clear the 50ft heads? I believe the largest Deere offers on them is 28.5ft from the factory
With your phone charger try unplugging from your phone and flip the plug 180 degrees and see if that helps. I don't know why but on some chargers one way is slow charge and the other is a quicker charge. Can't hurt to try.
man thats unfortunate when you only get 2 bushel crops lol.. running a john deere that means you are losing half your crop out the back.. at least you don't need to seed in spring this way.. really need to run claas.. all the benefits of a ideal and john deere
Great video Mike…… love seeing all this machinery and hearing all your info 👌🏻😀 we in 🇮🇪 have a outfit that run 6 combines but not always in the one field!!! Just wondering Mike did ye not choose JDs with tracks because of driving comfort or price maybe??
I know nothing about these types of crops - are you breaking even on seed planted vs harvested? Appx how many bushels of seed/acre does it take to plant these types of crops?
Last year his harvest was worse than this. I believe he sayed it was very hard for him to get the seeds for this year. I also think he mentioned that he wasn't able to sell much of it because he needed it. Now its a little bit better. So I would suggest it is close. But these are only my guesses. Hope that helps. Have a nice day :)
if you have anything but an apple you can charge them with a usbc laptop charger if you have 110 in there. it doesn't explode I swear, its the phone that chooses how mutch power it takes with the charge controller not whatever brick or in this case power supply can throw out. charges as fast as the phone will go and itl last forever.
I like to be a positive person and look at the good side bur I must note this negative comment. Running around with 8 combines after a few kernels off, ove, of, off, off😊😊😊😊😉stunted crops is just not profitable and not sustainable.
Love you videos. From all your testing of all the machinery you have looked at, if you had to purchase just one manufacture for all applications which one would you select?
Morning Mike, are you going to be concerned with residual carryover next spring? Could make seeding decisions difficult again. Guess the worst thing at this point is the moisture situation. We’ve had 10-11 inches this yr and need a good rain this fall. Lots of cracks in the ground. Maybe the grasshoppers will fall into them. Take care, have a good rest of the harvest. We are 35% done, got greened out last Thurs night. Hope to start yellow mustard end of this wk.
It's a "pea auger" like the Honeybee drapers also have. Helps viney bushy crops like peas, canola, mustard move along and not start rolling on the belt like tumbleweeds.
Tracks on combines are over rated, and not needed in this part of the world. Also they come with sweet 100k premium, so that money has to come back to you and I simply cannot make that investment back.
