*Note! Just updating some comments made in the video. Easy mode is for in built Arcade titles only. Won't work with Arcade Carts. I believe. Also Rainbow Islands, Chase Hq are Taito. The comment related to them not being included is related to the Taito version of Super Pocket.
Good overview. I appreciate seeing games from other carts running ! I've pre-ordered the Taito one myself. This will be my first Evercade device. Can't wait to get it and other carts as well.
I want one. Just have to decide which. I love the look with the blue and yellow. But I prefer the games on the Taito. Or do I wait and see what comes next? Dare I hope for a Neo Geo version?
Lol yeah funny that, I prefer the blue smd yellow but the Taito games are more up my street. Get that one. Might be a while before we get anymore. Next could be Neogeo.. Sega.. Konami..
Too bad about the compatibility issues… I guess I’ll just grab an EXP then to ensure full compatibility. Cancelled my capcom edition and will get the EXP this week… thanks for clarifying.
Thank you for showing the control 'menu.' Most early reviews brush past this, which is unfortunate. I really hope Blaze comes around and provides a button reassignment update later. That's almost a dealbreaker for me.
I know, would be so good to get carts.. such a Shame. I guess that's the point of these Super Pockets. I reckon if they were released as carts.. it would be split into 2 collections.
Glad the rear buttons are not micro switched. And yeah the sound sounds good. My Toaplan 2 cart is a bit like your Codemasters cart, cotton bud wiped across the pins of the cart can help, if it's tight squash the bud, and as long as Super Skidmarks works on your EXP or VS you don't have an early faulty copy. I guess it would of made more sense to have the Megadrive version of Mercs but then people would of moaned it's not the arcade version, you can't win... Maybe next year we will see a Pro version with TV out, would be cool. Have fun and cheers! 👍
Cheers for the advice! Sadly Skidmarks works lol All the buttons are soft so guessing they are not microswitched. The shoulder buttons mightve been better stacked. I dunno, tricky however you do it.
Cool video, I'm very excited to get mine. I did notice you removed your cartridge mid game without closing down first.. also removing and inserting these carts in succession too quickly would be a good way to corrupt the data, as these are pretty weak SD card style chips. I've never tested it myself but I certainly wouldnt risk it XD Side note, I might be most excited for the dummy cart it comes with.. swap out the chips for a fancy new shell hehe
If the console struggles to read the cart, despite there being no software reasons for it, I recommend checking the contacts on the cartridge. I have two cartridges (Codemaster collection and Technos Arcade collection), where I had to put a piece of paper under the contacts to increase pressure and ensure better connection. Btw. I cannot wait to see Duke Nukem games on this tiny handheld. It could be fun. Duke Nukem Advance would feel right at home on such a small device.
dragon breed was never ported aside from fan projects, its one of my favorites i think the evercade is the perfect device for something like this; but maybe reigning in the licensing might be harder than im thinking it is
Not bad but for the limited amount of licenced games, rather overpriced. The Evercade compatibility is where the money spinner should be, not in the handheld.
I have the Taito version pre-ordered as I already have the EXP with all these Capcom games included, bit disappointing that the units only support single player especially as Bubble Bobble is only able to be completed in two player mode (bit of an oversight there!) but even so for £50 it’s a steal! Looking forward to taking mine on holiday with me as it’ll be perfect for the flight.
@@rasterico 😆 lol you can never have enough. Sounds like me when I went on holiday earlier this year. Steam Deck, EXP, Playdate and PSVita in my carry on luggage.
@@CrazyBurger yes I ordered the Funstock limited edition Taito and Capcom edition of the Super pocket. Sadly In Canada, it's very slow. I will most likely get my order by the end of November
Scan lines.... WHY?! Unless you stuck your face ten inches from the screen you never even noticed scan lines back in the day. So, for all those kids that were legally blind I guess they can relive their youth. 😳
@@CrazyBurger Did you ever notice scan lines? ... you may be a bit younger than I and also in the UK where the TVs might have been different but honestly I recall the screen looking solid. Scan lines just weren't a thing.
@@Savitor Yes I remember scanlines, especially in Arcades. PC monitors had them too. Though not sure why anyone would want to turn them on. As I said it's really a personal choice.
Hogwash! You can get a much better and new-ish technologied handheld for $50. It holds more and better games and newer. Nothing against these games, love them my childhood but people do your homework. There are better options!
This looks really fun. Capcom edition is my choice because it has a couple of good beat 'em ups in Final Fight and Captain Commando that I would particularly like to have on the go. Excellent overview. 👍
@@CrazyBurger 😂 Thanks. I am a Transformers collector and the name is a reference to the toy shown in my profile pic. People in the fan community just refer to me as Dave Nipples.
