I prefer the sound of the razer seiren mini but it’s nice to see a budget mic with a mute button even if it has a small click. They at least tried to do something to distinguish themselves from the competition with the mute button
Well, color me shocked! I was genuinely torn between investing in the Neumann U87 and settling for the HyperX. Your comparison has been a real eye-opener, and now I can happily bid adieu to my dreams of a "Hello, Neumann" world, and embrace the audacious charm of the HyperX Solo. / Love your videos, thank you. :-)
I've recommended this mic to a few friends in the past, it's a pretty inoffensive entry level mic. It's also usually a really good budget option when it's on sale. It's $42 right now but I've seen it in the 30's before. Considering that it's a recognizable "gamer" brand with a good warranty, it's an easy recommendation.
Neat review! Bandrew, i've recently adquired a 512 Audio Tempest, a USB mic by Warm Audio's sub brand 512 Audio (I think you've already covered one of their mics), and it's regarded as a "large diaphragm (34 mm) USB condenser mic, inspired by the WA47jr" (and claims they have a pretty similar sound as well). I think it sounds pretty good, it has gain dial and headphones dial It would be interesting to see it reviewed and compared against other USB mics and the WA47jr itself. I bought it at 80$ (it was at 150$ when it launched in 2022)
i just subscribe men you do good job when it come on mic reviews etc and believe me i have see most of the audio channels and find yours easy to get what you say because you provide examples keep the good work m8
Thanks for yet another good review...a nice sounding mic. However the lack of zero latency monitoring is a dealbreaker for me in USB land, especially if you are VO guy.
Is that Q2U an older version? The high frequencies sound a bit harsh. Wish there were more budget mics reviews. btw I'd also love to have the Neat Worker Bee 2 vs its older version
Wow, the Blue Snowball and Neumann U87Ai were both impressive. The sound quality of both was fantastic in the test, especially the Blue Snowball's sound pattern, which is very close to the Neumann U87Ai. On the other hand, the HyperX SoloCast is a bit pale and high-pitched.
I don't have any of the music published yet, but I set a goal to release something this year. Thank you so much for those kind words, it really means a lot.
its so funny hearing the drastic change in sound quality with all of the mics when it switches to the at2020 and im not even a fan of the 2020s sound and oh man I want to get a u87 so badly it sounds so nice
Hey podcastage, ive been looking into buying a new mic. I make youtube videos, occasionally stream and also occasionally record vocals for my songs. What mic would you recommend to me? My budget ends at $200, any advice/suggestion from you would be great. I have been watching your videos for the past week or so and cant decide what to choose. Could you please steer me in the right direction.
Sounds good and clear enough for voice for the price, though you could get a 20 dollar condenser one, put it on an arm and with a filter (such as the program sonar by steelseries) you're good to go.
I've got one. Sound's really good for a cheap usb microphone. Using asio4all with vb audio matrix/voicemeeter banana to hear myself without delay (128samples. Esi maya44e master clock)
I got this for the second half of the pandemic, for classes and gaming with my friends, at that time it was pretty much the only option, for my needs then and now (some online conferences, and gaming) I think is pretty solid, the first time I used it my friends were surprised.
It has some notable resonances that sounded decent inoffensive on vocals but pretty awful on electric guitar. Acoustic guitar didn’t sound half bad tho for some reason
i have razer seiren x and want to get a new mic because it got old and i'm sick of hearing breath / room sounds when i'm editing videos , all mics in this video also seem to take a lot of mouth noises :( any suggestions ?
I’d personally pick up the Go Mic. I like the sound of those and I want the headphone jack of the Go Mic for monitoring the mic. But if someone wants the mute button at the $40 tier there aren’t too many options that I can think of. Maybe a USB dynamic with an on/off switch ATR2005 or ATR2100.
You mean the Samson Go mic? I agree!! I was quite surprised at how good it sounds for the money and I love that it has a headphone jack as well!@@Podcastage
I got this during the amazon prime sale, but had to return. Unfortunately the mic has to be placed close to you so the others can hear you well, making it not comfortable to be used for streaming/ work calls.
