This uses both hypnosis and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to allow for the whole brain to engage and let go of negative thinking and anxiety as you fall asleep. This works not just on the conscious part of the brain (which is smaller and also less powerful) but also the subconscious (80 to 90% of your total brain!). Using both will deepen and amplify the positive effects as hypnosis engages the subconscious part of the brain which both stores and generates those habitual thought patterns.

More on this: I start with an explanation of how the human brain works and why it can and does get stuck in negative thought patterns, then transition into conversational hypnosis utilizing Ericksonian hypnosis and body relaxation.
With each round of relaxation, focusing on physical relaxation, we interrupt the focus on thoughts and reconnect to the body.
Using Ericksonian hypnosis means the listener never feels forced or coerced into letting go of their thoughts and beliefs and is gently relaxed.
And using guided imagery allows the whole brain, the parts that are verbal and non-verbal, which is crucial to transform emotional responses which are non-verbal by default. I start with a simple hypnotic image of rain pattering on a windowpane and we go from there to examine:
what we personalize
catastrophic “end of the world” thinking
negative predictions of the future
all or nothing thinking / black and white thinking
rigid beliefs
critical self-beliefs
This session is purposefully a little longer in the intro and gentle throughout because our thoughts are important and I want the listener to feel respected and accepted exactly as you are. It is only in acceptance that we can then move on to change and only if we wish to do so.
