The f-35b is the plane that they use in Battlefield 4 for the American fighter jet. Most people don't know that you can actually hover and shoot people or buildings like a helicopter, and then turn max throttle and fly like a jet.

Why don't they use those versions on aircraft carriers instead? Seems simpler, no need for a runway to launch or land, just launch & land like a helicopter?

@@bekeneelthe navy has different needs than the marines, and they still need the full runway to launch E-2s, C-2s, and whatever else comes later

At the 3:23 mark in the video, USS Wasp LHD 1 was shown; my last ship upon retirement. Served on Wasp from 2000-03.

I was on it's maiden voyage as a Marine attached to a Harrier sqdn during Desert Storm in 1991. Small world, eh? Anchors Aweigh, Sailor! Navy/MC Team!!!

@@RetiredSailor60 That was directly after my '91 deployment on her. In fact, it was her next sail. Sad that it happened and the CO and XO got relieved - I met them as they assumed command during my deployment - they seemed very enthused at their assignment on the Wasp. The Navy/Marine Corps team is #1, IMO. Again, anchors aweigh, Sailor - and Semper Fi.....
