Yes mine has 175k only replaced alternator, battery, brakes and routine oil changes. A real champ! Only worth 1k says KBB so def keeping till she dies.
Why do people crap on hyundai and kia? Most of the time they break down cause of lack of maintenance. Theyre affordable and cheap to repair. Whats with the toyota bias
I just inherited this year and model from my fathers passing. He never went anywhere so the car has 23,000 miles on it in 12 years. I will be adding to that substantially because I will use it as my daily long distance commuter.
I live in Quebec province, Canada. In my "city" we are less than 2000 peoples and the nearest "big" (30000)city is 100km away. I've one as a second car, anti-rust oil treatment every years since new. The paint still look as new. It's the same color as yours. Always done oil changing as recommended by the dealer, done all recalls (one involving changing head gasket and machining the head) the only thing I've ever replaced is a front suspension link. And the usual break, tires, filters. 650 000 kms and 13 years after buying it new, it's still going strong and no problem with cold weather starts. Were I live, -30 C in winter is the normal. A week ago, 01/20/2022, it goes down to - 45 C. It always started. Of course, I've replaced the battery 4 years ago and I must say that all the features are still working well. Ac, power windows, power mirrors. It's recommended to replace the a.c. air filter each time you do a oil change, every 7000kms or 6 months intervals. The only thing that caused me problems is that the transmission shifter stay locked sometimes in park position. You have to release it manually by inserting a small flat screwdriver in a hole, in front of the shifter underneath a small cap that you can remove easily with the said screwdriver. I need to do that sometime, maybe twice a year. I don't use the economic mode as I live in a mountainous area and I need more power sometimes. My other car is a 2018 b250 Mercedes. I intend to keep both of them till they fall apart. I had many car since I drive. 28 in total, from land yacht (1973 ninety nine Oldsmobile) to small French car ( Renault 5 and Renault 12) and Eastern- European car and 6 Russian ( USSR at the time) my first car ever was a 1983 lada 1300. Maybe one day I will do a channel about cars.. Edit: I don't understand why they put a line on a part of my comment. I didn't do that on purpose.
Wow, such a comment! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. 650k km proves the project is solid. Korean cars are currently in the high quality built models hall of fame 😄👏👏
I have the exact same model as yours! Only got 179k on mine and the front main seal gave out. Picking it up tomorrow from the shop hopefully to throw on a bunch of miles with it
Hello, I Got The Same 2010 Elantra, Which its issue is once I drive for about 2 hours, the OIL symbol in the dashboard starts blinking slowly once am deaccelerating the car, but once when accelerating again it disappears..
Hello. I have an 09 Elantra. Make sure your car has been thru the recall. In 2015 the company recalled 500’000 cars for a bad EPS computer that make steering lock up.
Es correcto lleve a la hyundai y Costaba $1500 el arreglo. Lleve a otro. Maestro especializado en hyundai y lo arreglo por 350$ sin problemas hasta ahora
@@calgary2800 I'd argue its superior to the 2011+ models. although I've been looking at the 2016+ models with a familiar body style. not near as ugly as the 2011 refresh.
@@justinkaufman495 there is a 2010 Elantra with 32k. Dealer is asking 10,750 for it. Blue GLS with tan two tone interior. Only thing holding me back is the timing belt change costs. Its almost 1k in my area. Its on craiglist Seattle if you search for it. My other choice is Nissan Versa Note.
@@calgary2800 definitely wouldnt recommend a versa but 10k is alot for a 2010 even with 32k miles on it. that's really close to how much it was brand new.
@@justinkaufman495 yeah. I remember back than Hyundai was selling them for thousands off msrp. The owner of that car lot is firm. 10,750 or the hwy. If it was 9999 I would get it. In Seattle are nothing is cheap.
@@DaBossk hi yes I did. The serpentine belt was broken is what my mechanic said. And I had bad wheels very bad. I got new ones . And I also needed an alignment.
I got the same car but it’s a 2008 and it’s a manual it has 206k miles you think that’s super high? There’s been a lot of money out into it new brakes new shocks and suspension new battery tires good and all the regular maintenance what’s most likely to go out on these motors once there high mileage ?
Mejor!
@@carmaniaoficial8584 Hello, mine is the Limited model. I tried to check online but haven’t seen much about it. It doesn’t have buttons on the steering wheel & also doesn’t have buttons for the mirror on the driver’s door handle. I’m just trying to be sure that the person that sold it to me didn’t play a fast one. Thank you for your response
I have an elderly mother looking at buying a 2010 with 128000 miles on it.... we don't have a lot of money, so reliability is a must. Are there any trouble spots that you think we should be aware of, in your opinion? Thanks, Bill.
Well, no engine leaks is a very good start. These cars automatic windows are not the best, either. Besides that, with the proper maintenance (mainly oil changes) , it is a reliable, decent and honest vehicle. I would also take care and replace the transmission oil, if I was planning to stick a long time with it.
I have the same Elantra. Korean Name Is "avante" My car is 2006 Model, And it has 228,000Km! Korean say this Model "zombie" haha. Many elantra came to road, And This version have too nice Quality. Korean version's Elantra has 1.6L petrol, and someone has 1.6L diesel
I gotta be honest with you: I don’t know the Canadian Market, but 70k km is way under the average for a 12-years old car. So, you could expect a price at least a little above the avg.
@@pankajjoshi2032 wow... I bought my elantra 2009 in 2020 for $2500 cad. It had 90k km on it. Now it has 115k km on it. Good to know I can sell it more than I bought it if I want to
Hey there, I'm interested in this 2010 Hyundai Elantra (101K miles) to commute to school, my mechanic gave it a fair rating but the only major issue is that the transmission fluid is starting to get dark, I've been told it has a good amount of life left on it so my question is do you think changing the transmission fluid will give it more durability and longevity. Keep in mind the shift still works good and there are no problems driving it.
Lol. This blue name was definetely not the best choice from Hyundai. Well, I definitely would recommend the fluid change. Once you are getting the car now, it will help to keep the transmission in good shape, improving its durability and longevity along your period with the car.
@@carmaniaoficial8584 way wrong most modern cars have lifetime fluid in them the fluid is not to be changed unless the transmission is being replaced it needs exactly the right type of fluid exactly the right amount and the fluid has to be flushed through removing any air bubbles in the system changing the fluid now only opens the door for opportunities to get it wrong and cause failure people who don't know what they're talking about shouldn't be giving advice
@@jimmypatterson3565 well I can see you’ve read quite well all the manuals…However that’s not how it works in real life. Or do you really believe in a “lifetime fluid” in a system that works hard on daily-basis? If you do, you’re nothing but innocent. My advices come from what I’ve learned owning cars for the last 17 years. I guarantee the dealerships will be happy with people that blindly believe on their recommendation, that’s one of the easiest ways to keep them wealthy 😉👏
@@jonathans4503 hey man do you remember where you bought that system from ? I’m looking into one for mine but I’m not sure where to get one that works well
