In its first ever Targa Tasmania, Brendan Reeves pedalled a Hyundai i30N with co-driver Rhianon Gelsomino to 6th place in GT2 (2WD) class and 15th outright from a field of over 100 cars.
This surprising result placed the humble i30 ahead of a long list of expensive sports cars, including more than one Dodge Viper ACR, Nissan R35 GTR, Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Porsche GT3 RS, Cayman GT4, Audi TT RS, and BMW M2, to name just a few.
We followed the group in a Hyundai Fastback N as part of the Targa "Tour" class, which gave us a first hand view of the roads, which include 2000kms of transit and 500km of closed public roads.
Here's the run down of the week-long event that zig-zags across the Australian state of Tasmania.
