Stock for stock, the i30 is better than a Golf GTI. It has more power and drives better overall. The stock exhaust sounds so much better than a stick GTI exhaust. Great review 🙌🔥💯.
True, that said, from a performance point of view, all the hot hatches in this section are better than a mk8 gti 😂. Civic type R, renault megane RS, Toyota corolla GR
This is definitely my next car... Yes, I had to replace two of my 18" tyres after 2 months because I hit potholes, but I'm not done yet until I get myself an i30N. I'll only consider a bakkie or a mid-SUV right after I've lived with the i30N. I am not prepared to listen to anyone, it's the i30N or nothing.
The i30N is a really good daily, and the Facelift has forged wheels, which are not only lighter, but stronger than regular alloy wheels, so you can worry a little less about potholes mullering the wheel itself (though potholes suck regardless). It's a great daily, my friend has one that he bought new-ish (was Ex Demo car) and he's slowly modified over the past 2.5yrs so he can experience it fully along the way. The DCT is incredibly nice in traffic, and really shifts well when you want to drive it hard, manual shifts are also really good (he's done track days in his and I've borrowed it from him for a few weeks here and there in his ownership). Despite it having the DCT, it still feels really engaging to drive and full of character, unlike a Golf R which I felt was a bit cabbagey to drive. You'll love it! 😁
Nice vid. I have the same car and love it so much. I made a YT channel to share my experience with the N and talk about few mods I made. I never used launch control but your explanation is very helpful. Cheers from Italy
A serious question: does the i30N have a soft ride suspension in order to cruise in the shitty roads of Greece ? I have seen autobahn videos of the i30N bouncing all the way in the N mode 😢😢😢
It's got customisable dampening, kinda like Type R's and all that. So you have the regular N mode, which just goes hard on suspension, gear shifts, , steering, power delivery and disables Traction Control, but you can set them individually in N Custom mode. So you can go hard/noisy on everything but have soft suspension. My friend's Facelift version is absolutely fine on UK roads and honestly feels decently comfortable and smooth (but still can corner like a madman in it) with this setting as a daily, and the roads here are utter dog poop. Hope this helps! 🙂
Ugarte won't play line breaking passes but he's good at carrying the ball and pinging a long accurate ball and it's good at retaining the ball so the whole "he's but good on the ball" angle doesn't make sense to me. He's not meant to be like Bruno. If he's not losing the ball and keeps it well then he's as good as can get in possession. He could bring back the Pogba to Rashford long ball 07
