A toggle continues to be offered for the Genesis equivalent for picking your cabin temperature (very tactile toggle in the gv60). .

Ionic 5 needs a better route planning and manual preconditioning. Over the air updates are minimal compared to Tesla. Nice podcast Francie. Your great!

Added buttons (home button for the infotainment, rear folding seats, seat cool and heated), wireless mirroring and extra range with updated cooling. The N-Line bumpers are nice but possibly over extended. Will have to wait and see in person. N-Line garnish nose lights are sweet and hopefully animated. Hoped the N-Line got adapted dampers. 🤞🏼Waiting for 18 minute charging on J3400.🎯2023 IONIQ 5 Limited AWD owner. 12:12

I am seriously considering a 24 Kona electric as they have brought some of the tech and styling from Ioniq line down to the Kona. It’s a solid daily driver.

I'm interested in the rumoured 2025 XRT trim for the Ioniq 5. A little more ground clearance and underbody/battery protection would be useful where I live. I like the idea of having access to a local dealer should there be any issues (when compared to Tesla or Rivian). I also like the more traditional controls in the Hyundai products (buttons, knobs, etc.); I refuse to get a car where you have to go through the infotainment screen to adjust the fan's blowing direction (stupidly conplicated). V2H to back up my home plus access to Superchargers using native NACS sounds good too!

This is a great refresh and it addresses all of my main hopes and concerns (probably) and more. More buttons, rear wiper, removal of the low conductivity coolant (probably), an NACS connector (it better) and a bigger battery. I'm very happy (probably). A new infotainment system is appreciated too.

Will this refresh be the dividing line between NACS and CCS Ioniq 5s? Or will the built in NACS connector happen separately from this refresh?

Great to see a refresh for this very compelling vehicle. I hope they bring the Kia EV5 to the US, maybe as an Ioniq 7? (Since the 3-row is now going to be called the Ioniq 9)

I'd like to see a proper 240v V2L. If the govt needs to make all these rules concerning EVs, make a law requiring all electric cars to have V2L! Power storage is a perfect role for an EV to have. An ioniq 5 battery has more kwh than 5 Tesla Powerwalls. When my power goes out, i use my Ioniq 5 to power essential loads. With LED bulbs and modern appliances in houses, it's amazing how much you can power in your house on just a 15 amp circuit. 240v would give me double the capability.

MY23 owner. On the whole it's a solid refresh. Remains to be seen if it will be worth it price wise. With the R2 coming this week Hyundai will have to lower prices to compete if leaks about its price are accurate.
@Molishious
@Molishious 3 месяца назад
Nissan just lowered the price on the Ariya, so I'm hoping by there will be enough price pressure to keep the price of the I5 down. The MY is so much less expensive than the I5 but it is also very limited on luxury so I think it keeps the door open for competitors.

Love my 2024 Ioniq 5. I wish I knew all the updates were coming in 2025. 😂. The car is fun to drive and very spacious. Once Hyundai gets on Tesla infrastructure charging stations that will be the game changer.

Gosh people need to stop whining about the Tesla chargers, they are the most outdated and slowest DC fast charging network on the entire planet. Just because they have many of them doesn't make them good or a viable choice, especially not for 800+V EVs. You are so eagerly waiting to charge with 90-100kW or what? Even 50kW roadside/shopping mall chargers make more sense because you ain't actively waiting to charge up your car. Other manufacturers build future-proof, solid and really "fast" charging networks nowadays, support those and forget about Tesla.

The Ioniq 5 is a terrific car, had a 2023 Long Range Limited equivalent here in Canada model, other than my biggest problem of no fast DC charging (mine was a one of with this issue which did eventually was repaired 6 service visits and 7 months later and then sold for Tesla Model Y long range AWD) it is truly a great car. Time to reconsider (especially with NACS charge port which will be native) as the drive and quiet cabin were class leading and with this improved range, rear wiper, better in-route routing (populated charging stops (you can select the DC charge level) with % range arrival and time to charge before moving on), and better headlights (mine were fair but not like this next level with potential active matrix adaptive high beams) and the biggest update is OTA (over the air updates likely the same as the EV9) will make this class leading desirable EV, thanks Hyundai!!! Can you bring more to Canada were are not really represented with Hyundai EV accessibility even in BC Canada where we are leading Canada in EV adoption but you just cannot get Hyundai's Ioniq 5 without very long order lead times! Only thing Hyundai please put the DC charger port in the back of the Drivers side to make it much more Tesla charger friendly!!!

The tesla cubertruck is also an 800V architecture. So all new Tesla chargers will be able to charge the ionic 5 at full speed.

Well the upcoming 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLA will have 400miles of EPA range. The next generation Mercedes C-Class, and maybe also the 3-series "Neue Klasse" by BMW, both coming to the markets in 2026, have an estimated 450miles EPA. SUV versions will of course be available, as well. Since the new EPA test cycle is more realistic those numbers can easily be achieved in the real world, too. Is that enough for a upper-mid sized and priced car?

Other EV makers need to make a list of the things Tesla customers ask for but Tesla refuses to do. Then offer all of them. That’s how you compete.

Hopefully Hyundai will finally get their shit together with their software/UI/UX design, because their hardware design seems really on point for the most part. I love the retrofuturistic design-the first thing that caught my eye and got me excited to get one last year. Also, their regen paddles with the ability to coast is the best treatment of regen I've experienced in any EV I've driven (I've owned or daily driven Teslas, a Rivian, a Leaf, and a Kona-and tried many others). I think all EVs should have the ability to coast at the tip of your fingers (though you should be able to default to 1-pedal, which I hope the facelift fixes). The suspension tuning is comfortable but performs well, and is mostly pretty well balanced (a little porpoise-y, but not the worst by any means). The rear seat space/comfort is fantastic (though storage suffers a bit). I'd personally love a slightly lifted/rally spec version for the VT back roads I daily drive on, and I may consider buying a depreciated facelift one in a couple years to lift 2" and throw on 18" AT tires of some sort. I leased an Ioniq 5 Limited starting last March. After about 4 months of irritating/disorganized back-and-forth-Hyundai finally agreed to buy back the car because it has spent over 55 cumulative days in the shop for several things: the trunk has made an irritating squeaking sound from just over 500 miles on the odometer. The dealer initially denied the existence of the sound, then tried to fix it 1.5 months after my first reporting it, then received a recall bulletin about it with specific repair procedures (which still didn't fix the problem). After three attempts to repair, they basically threw their hands up and told me I should "take it to a body shop." I also had an ICCU failure, and the vehicle wouldn't AC charge. I wanted to be excited about the car, and while the issues could easily be pegged up to me receiving a Lemon, the real reason I decided to proceed with a buyback was twofold: 1. the car has depreciated like a rock, and the buyback allows me to consider some other options as things shift to NACS without paying such a dear price come lease-end (I leased the car at the very tail end of covid-scarcity-fueled car pricing insanity). 2. Perhaps more relevant to the news of this facelift: this car has so many small refinement quirks/issues: no dog/pet mode, or any way to keep the HVAC running with the doors locked (past the 10 minutes you can trigger with the app 🙄). No PAAK for iPhone users. Sluggish and irritatingly convoluted UI/UX, with little hope of improvement/updates in any meaningful way. HORRRIBLE route planning/navigation that looks like it came from 2010, and requires me to use all the EV route planning apps when traveling.
