We have a US version of the Ioniq. Just tested DC fast charging the other night (we're in Florida, so cold is not a problem), and it worked perfectly. Also, I think you mentioned that you can't do one-peddle driving by using the paddles next to the steering wheel? That's not correct, at least in the US version. The paddle on the left words as a regen brake and can actually bring the car to a complete stop without using the friction brake peddle. And, going that way, the car does remain motion-less until you use the accelerator to start again. Otherwise, loved your review. And, even more so, we LOVE our Ioniq. Here in the States, it's only $3000 more than the Leaf, is more efficient (mpge) and has longer range. In the end, I love them all -- electric is the way to go!

It's possible that the low charging speed I experienced is related to "coldgate" effect - too cold battery. Temperature certainly makes a difference. About using the paddle on the steering wheel to stop - I know it, but but to me it still seemed less intuitive than e-Pedal on the leaf, where you just release the acc pedal and no additional action with hands or feet. However I guess you can get used to pulling the paddle and then it will also feel intuitive :)

The Ioniq in the premium version has lane following function so so that it follows the lane very nicely - you are talking about the regular lane keeping assist, which it also has. When the lane following assist is eganged, it will follow the middle of the lane. Pretty simular to Tesla’s. Also, if you hold the left paddle, it will come to a complete halt - this can be used in stead of using the hold button between the front seats. And it does start by itself, when engaged in ‘autopilot’. Regarding the fast charging, the speed throttles down just around 65 % capacity, so that was an unfortunate starting point for your fast charging session. And not a very realistic real life scenario to fastcharge at that point...

I love the lane keeping assist. I’ve driven 12k kilometres by now, most of them without touching the steering wheel. It starts beeping after 30 seconds or so, a little touch to the steering wheel is enough to reset it. Didn’t know about holding the left pedal to make a full stop, will try it out! Rarely use the breaks anyway with the regenerative break system at level 3.

The Style has it too. But he didn't know how to activate it😉

Good choice. Otherwise, I really liked the Kona, just not big enough for my family.

Rear charging is great at home. Front charging looks really ugly. Dont like heptic touch in center console. Buttons are better. And also dont like standard lights inside the car ... LED will be better.

Great review. I would still rather get Kia Niro EV or Hyundai Kona Electric 64kWh, with more range (almost 500km for both cars if you drive efficiently)... currently I have Nissan LEAF 2017 with about 140km range...

Unfortunately, Kia Niro EV is not available in Estonia for some strange reasons :( It's a little bit more expensive, but also roomier. If it's big enough for you, then Kona EV is a good choice. Check out my Kona EV review also :)

Great review. I'm considering one of these to replace my 24kw Leaf. Does the stronger regen also use the friction brake like one pedal driving on the Leaf? One thing I don't like on the Leaf is when you press the Start button it takes a time before you can drive off. The Renault Zoe can be driven straight away. What's the Ioniq like? I look forward to more of your videos.

I can put it in drive/reverse in less than 10 seconds easy, the start up is only maybe 4-5 seconds really. One pedal is done via the regen paddle on the steering wheel, quite nice I use it quite often once I learned to do it and barely use my brakes now.

Two issues, one you only went to one charging station to try DC it could have been the charger. Two you had it in Eco mode to see speed, in Sport mode it is much faster.

You should watch Bjørn Nyland's reviews of this car. It can certainly fast charge :)

Bjørn Nyland is one of my idol car reviewers :) He did manage to charge it faster, but not over 50 kW and I remember that during some test he also experienced "coldgate" (restricted charging speed due to cold battery) - probably the same problem that happened to me. It might not be a dealbraker for all buyers, but just sad to have reduced charging speed on the new Ioniq compared to the previous model.

Range still to low for me. Give it 64kw battery job done.

Sorry, but cannot say for sure. Spec sheet of that demo car doesn't mention the color.
