This is a list of all possible issues. This is general and does not mean this will happen, they are just stating what "could" go wrong. Each car has these possible scenarios depending on their parts and counterparts
I have a 2015 1.7 CDI. Done 120,000 miles in it. A bearing went in the gearbox at 70,000 and the gearbox was replaced under warranty. A rear wheel bearing was replaced under warranty at 35,000. Apart from normal brake disc and pad replacement that’s all the work that’s been done. It’s the most reliable car I have ever owned. The worst car I ever owned was a 320 BMW replaced just about every moving part on it. The engine burst into flames in the middle of a three point turn. I wouldn’t have another BMW even as a gift. Absolute crap.
My brother had a rather expensive BMW convertible and had major issues with it. Had to cause a scene in the showroom just to get them to take responsibility for an item that should never have failed when it did.
My wife has a manual 2015 plate 1.7 diesel, 85k miles on it. Only had it a year and the gear selector has just gone on it, so I've replace it but I can also hear a slight noise in 1st gear is this the bearing you mentioned in your comment?
My 2013 developed a knock at idle speed, that went away on acceleration. Searched hi and low without success, feared the dreaded piston knock. 2 mechanics had no luck, so I kept at it. I pinned it down to the idler bearing, belt tensioner. One mechanic did the job, never put new parts in, so it never went away. Yes he ripped me off $700. Next mechanic bought the parts and I assisted him fit them. Perfect now, I still love the car. Just hate rip off mechanics..
2011 model. 2 Air compressor replacements for air conditioning, cruise control unit buggy, skylight no longer opens, rear camera buggy, replaced rear parking sensors. All mostly electrical issues, otherwise pretty great mechanically.
Parents are lending me their model from the same year at the moment. They also had an absolute nightmare with AC unit. Taking it to the garage tomorrow for a knock thats developed when braking/accelerating, but other than that I think its been a pretty reliable car
I have a 1.7 tdi now at 360,000 kms only replacements so far air con radiator became corroded at 6 years (180 euros) new clutch at 320,000 kms (about 300 euros). Every service as recommended carried out - no further issues! Usage 80% long motorway journeys min 100/200kms Weekly - max 2,000 kms. annually once or twice. Seems good value to me, I don't intend to replace it.
2012 air con replacement at 200,000kms. Now at 353000kms knocking noises louder around wheels in car, just been told FRONT SHOCK ABSORBERS AND STRUT TOPS REQUIRED $970 FRONT SWAY BAR LINKS AND MOUNTING BUSHES $325 RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BEARING SLIGHTLY NOISEY $475 AFTERMARKET AIR FILTER FITTED, REQUIRES CLEAN OUT AND OILING $65… $3,350…. Trying to decide to buy or get another suv. 450kms to a tank every few days or less fill up no cheap, bad fuel efficiency. Inside scratches so easy, had window switches replaced when car was 2 years old and steering wheel. Brakes and rotors again changed and again noisey. Security code for radio wont work and turns radio off after putting in. Paint now scratching easy and peeling. Window tint peeling. Mud flaps wore in the first 2yrs from the front tyres. Cruise control doesnt also turn on. And it doesn’t maintain speed up and down hills it’s terrible.
Diesel ix35 ," 63 "uk plate 4wd 1.6l . Owned car from Dec 2022. 140k miles Rear transmission soft whirring noise start 3 month ago .did not affect driving so left it . glow plug replaced at 149k.due to Fault codes and misfiring now egr ans dpf engine fault .need replacing
I've had a premium 1x35, 2010 for over a year & it's been a joy to drive except for 1 thing. The intermittent wiper doesn't work as it should, it's too slow between sweeps no matter whether the rain is a shower or more? Anyone know how to fix please? The rest of the wiper operations are as normal.
My car ix35 is didn’t start due to check engine light not showing on dashboard technician had tried fixing it but couldn’t fix it cos the check engine light is low so could not start how do I fix it
My gearboxe whent on my ix35 only 90-000 miles and not under warranty cost me €1200 also clutch. Not great on the road bounces over bumps. Year is 2015. 🤮
Hold up an entire gearbox just cost you 1.200€ that's not that much. A clutch on the other hand at 90.000miles is not uncommon also depends heavily on where you drive and how. Anyway you'll find a brand that suits you better then. As I tend to say everyone experiences a brand or carmodel different so you might be happy with a Volkswagen, Renault, Toyota or Fiat who knows ^^
@@chriskonte1909 Sorry for the question does the automatic gear version has any reported or common problems? No planning on taking a ix35 outside the city so...does it hold well?
@@pelepoporo5251 Actually no. I havn't heard of any 6-speed automatic transmission problems yet. I don't think that's a problematic part. Just be careful and change the transmission oil religiously. Maybe if it's low mileage I'd go for a transmission oil flush instead of a change yes it's more expensive but then you'll have a waaaay cleaner system.
