I found these electric vehicle batteries at our local recycle place. In this video I take a battery apart to see what cells are in there, and whether I might be able to use them in my upcoming projects.

cool analysis. anything that can help more people recycle and reuse these things is good for us and the environment. Also, i wish more manufacturers would make it easy to have direct taps to each cell!!! Many of them do, but it is frustrating when the connector they use is some part that is only made for that auto manufacturer or something like that other than something common.

Hey what are the dimensions of one cell?

Chris, do you happen to have part numbers for the connectors used to get to the individual cell voltages? tia

I'm not sure if I said it in a later video, but they cost me $150 each. I ended up buying 32 of them!

Fantastic video thank you. Is each side 6 in series (block each side of the cooling fins identical?) looking for an affordable 24/48v battery setup thanks

Yes they are identical. So they can be connected in series (48V) or parallel (24V). Watch the voltages though, as they are not the same as lead-acid. Voltage for a 48V system would range from about 36V empty to 48V full. So make sure your charger and appliances (or inverter) can handle that voltage range.
