Demonstration of the AWD System in Snow Mode. The new Hyundai Palisade allows the driver to select the best transmission mode based on the terrain. If it's snowy out or if you're driving in mud or if you just want to squeeze out a few more drops of fuel there's a driving mode for you. Simply select which mode you would like to be in from the knob on the center console.

I have a question for anyone, the 2023 that I owned FWD the drive mode dial does not illuminate on mine, it is working but doesn't light up, how to turn on? Thank you

So I agree. And I have relevant first hand knowledge. I have owned two Subarus and recently bought a Palisade. Living in Canada I am fairly comfortable and familiar with driving on snowy roads. Last weekend was my first long drive (about 3 hrs) on snowy roads in the Palisade. I tried snow mode and switched the display to show me the power distribution. It only applied any power to rear tires on initial acceleration, otherwise it was like any FWD vehicle on snow. Anyhow... both my old Forester and Outbacks were more sure-footed on the snow. And it didn't feel close. Still love the look and drive of the Palisade, but it is not as good on snow as the Subarus.

I will also add... road terrains I took were a decent mix. From a logging road, side road, country highway to multi-lane expressway as I was driving from my cabin to our house in the city. Snow depth varied from about 15 cm to a thin skim coat. All conditions the Subaru nailed.

@@andrewm753 We also have a Palisade and an Outback. After the recent snow, we took the Palisade on a drive around the neighborhood to test it out. It definitely slipped a little more than the Outback but it went up snowy/icy hills well enough. While it is not as good as the Outback, it didn't feel like it was ever in a situation where it would get stuck.

Modes won't do ANYTHING without correct tires. It's like Nike inventing shoes for heel strike running so people think you run with a mattress under your foot or fracture your legs. You don't need any of this. It won't make you a more capable of safer driver.

You see moron drivers in 4 by 4s with sow tires in the ditch quite often. It is your driving ability and true defensive driving that will save you.

@@edbarnard7157 Doesn't matter what tire one put in, not even snow tires will save moronic drivers. For that matter, no car will save them either. In fact they get more dangerous as they get cocky with more capable cars/tires.
