i’m 29 and i live alone off grid *unfiltered vlog* 

At 29 I was starting my 16 year relationship with the Dallas, TX legal/probation/jail system. I'm 51 now and have all my privileges back, and am beyond grateful. I started solo tent camping the states about 2 years ago. On and off being back home with my family. My ultimate goal is to spend some straight years on the road. I still have much cleaning of my soul to do. It seems my soul gets healthy, then I'm home for a bit. Demons come back yes not as much as they use to but they do. I've now upgraded to a little teardrop which is going to be a game changer in my soul feeding adventures. Then find me some land in the woods and live the very best of my life. Looking forward to watching the rest of your journey, past and future. This is my 2nd video and I have the feeling I'm going to be here for a bit. Cheers!

You are telling the truth here. I have the opposite in my life. Now that I have COPD and emphysema. And I war with oxygen hunger. I have less and less family and friends coming around me. You are young and have your whole life ahead of you and you have your health. You have what I pray for. I wish you all the happiness in life. And you will always be in my prayers the rest of my life.

When I was young, I lived alone in a cabin in the mountains. One of the best periods of my life. So, I can relate.

As a van-lifer you’re really lucky to live on a continent with such a diverse geography. I’m based in the UK, but all told I’ve travelled from S. America, across some of Europe, some of the Middle East, South East Asia where I lived for a short while and the Far East. I think I’d like to have done all that travel as a van lifer. The attraction is the novelty experience and you’re learning all the time from that experience. I liked the steam engine shots, reminded me of my childhood.

Great video! I think that locomotive is a 2-8-2 built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1902.It was originally built as a 2-8-0 for the Denver & Rio Grande and was rebuilt in 1928 as a 2-8-2 for the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. Very cool old steam locomotive with a lot of history. Awesome you enjoyed seeing it!! The DRGW #463 was also built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1903! So cool to see those old locomotives!!! It is such a breath of fresh air to watch you and your channel! I appreciate the book/poem quotes too I love frost also! Coming from someone who also has struggled with anxiety on and off over the years in relation to where I’m going and decision making; I think you are doing such an amazing job with yourself! Look how far you’ve come!And of course you have good and bad days that your fans don’t see because that happens no matter if you’re rich or poor, on the grid or off it, and with someone or single. That is what I’ve struggled to keep telling myself when I get down. We all have skeletons in the closet and it can be hard to let go. Thank you for sharing pieces of your life it really has helped keep my mind right at times!

I understand what's it's like to be lonely going through a simple life. I started off with no family and lived on the streets most of my life. With nothing but a backpack, sleeping bag my grandfather left me and will to survive. To then have upgraded to a campervan and a rv that I rebuilt from the ground up. I also invested in property's that I plan to build on soon. The goals of finding a companion that contributes to this lifestyle and compliments it, is hard to come by. To live a basic life is to enjoy life beauty at the fullest. Stop and smell the Rose's on a daily. Keep up the good work.

Beautiful beautiful just beautiful! At 29 I had a 4 yr old, married for 10 yrs and just bought our house. You are living the dream I had at 17! So nice to see how happy you are. I ended up having 3 kids of whom I homeschooled living on a farm that we rented. All are wonderful people. Love watching you and many other nomads.

Deep down we are all searching and the life we choose are the puzzle pieces. Imagine putting a puzzle together without having seen the picture on the box the pieces came in. Thanks for letting us watch while you put the pieces together. Blessings.

People can be so salty, you contribute so much to society bc you are not tied down to the thoughts and ideologies that so many people become accustomed to. I love your content and I enjoy as a mom feeling motivated that it is still possible to live all of my dreams after 18. Many become trapped at the idea that you can do whatever you set your heart to do but only in your twenties and living to die is your only choice after thirty. I say bull crap! I’m planning my first thru hike this December at 35 and I couldn’t be happier. Don’t let anyone bring you down you are an inspiration and while I adored my life before I’m excited for my adventurous side ❤ and you helped set her wild and free. 🎉

I'm 31 and lived like this in my mobile traveler off grid for years now I bought land in Colorado and I'm currently building my home. I never too planted roots but as I traveled I was able to travel with my horses! And now it's time to retire my old horses and so I'm planting roots this year building my cabin. I truly feel the same about loving to solo life but limiting ppl in your life such as store or coffee shops is more than enough human reactions. I love living off grid in Colorado mountains and the bonus of having my horses to trail ride all over in beautiful seasons Colorado has to offer. My dream is to have my cabin and thats what I'm currently working towards I'm searching for my home with unstable life growing up I found truly myself and get pure join being in nature. What a great journey you have been through. I knew I had a twin somewhere out there I felt I was the only one out here doing this.

I can feel the freedom and the joy in your being your soul I was there too not too far into the future you'll be asking yourself why do people live in these boxes on the streets in towns saying where is the life in that where is the adventure have a good time girl enjoy

Alyssa, I looked up that train and that was interesting, I didn't realize that company runs two different train routes then, the one where you were at as well as the one I am more familiar with which is the one from Durango to Silverton. My dad went on that one quite a few years back as well as a friend who is from Colorado that took the Durango train a few falls ago. Most of those cars are totally open window wise and she said it was cold being in the fall but the leaves had turned color and she said it was well worth going on as there are views that one just doesn't see from the highway which I have been on a couple of times ( that 550 highway is quite something near Ouray and you may have been on that yourself in your travels )

what a beautiful soul you are, im in awe of you making the call to live the way you live, as someone who has been dealing with heavy anxiety for my entire life and starting to break out of that shell for the past years I can only attest to this statement - the downfall of an anxious person is to stop making decisions, you will feel awful for seemingly no reason while relieve is just one "yes" or "no" away. Im 27 and at the same point you described, super anxious about my future, not rly having found my little niche where I excell, carreerwise and myself-wise. Having to deal with financial dread for the first time too as I moved from home, 1000kms away into a new city to finally become more self sufficient - its been a tough adventure but I think you only ever know how much youve learned about yourself in retrospect, so I am excited to take on new challenges and explore who I really am! Oh I would have loved to see that old train. That would have been the highlight of my day. You are truly an inspiration I myself have suffered from anxiety for most of my adult life. It’s a struggle only few will know.

Did you know that brushing your hair while wet causes split ends and can pull the hair from the roots? Also using a plastic bristle brush is a big no, no because the plastic bristles aren't smooth and can tear the hair when used. A beard brush, steel or wooden brush is better because during the manufacturing process the edges are smoothed down, whereas the plastic ones are made from molds that leave imperfections in the bristle. I like the swing out door on your bus but unless that window is bullet or shatter-proof then it's a huge liability as a large rock will make short work of it and someone can just reach thru the smashed window and unlock the door from the inside.

I'm almost 77 & in 6th grade everyone in the class had to memorize & recite word for word "The Road Less Traveled" in front of the rest of the class, I think it took about 2 or 3 days & we were in the auditorium. I can still say some of it, ha! Over 40 years ago I moved from a suburb of Chicago to Northern Idaho to find my dream. Maybe that poem had something to do with it?
