I also enjoyed the 3rd episode a lot more than the last two. It just felt better. I thought the new characters introduced were fun and I liked the montage music. If the rest of Wild Manes keeps up this kind of quality, then I'll actually look foward to seeing more. I don't need it to be like Tell Your Tale, I just want this show to be fun in its own right.
The animation was better than I expected - I'm impressed they animated unique poses for several scenes. By contrast, the first season of FiM suffered from reusing a limited set of poses. Also each character has unique clothing, while FiM had some obvious copy-paste re-colors. The plot is a bit basic, but how we forget, the plot of many FiM episodes were equally basic, with the first season story arc being simply going to a gala. It's easy to think of FiM as much better because 1) nostelgia, and 2) we remember the best episodes and forget the worst. But I think WM holds its own against an "average" early-season FiM episode.
I'm not expecting this show to get crazy or do anything amazing, personally, especially because they're only around 5 minutes each. But I do hope it keeps improving on itself with story telling and characters!
I really enjoyed this episode The training montage scene was definitely one of the best parts That music piece goes hard 🔥 Cocoa once again was adorable Bailey’s lines were pretty funny And Coach Tilly is a great new character I’ll be Waiting for episode 4
Yeah, Wild Manes is certainly a safe show, with narratives that are cute and chill, but not exactly coherent. I mean, what does Sports training have to do with being a barista? Admittedly, I was one of the folks who was sharing the announcements of Wild Manes with friends, and as a belated reply, my reasoning was that I was hoping this would be better than Tell Your Tale, but I wouldn't say that I was hyping WM out of spite for TYT. I was just wanting more good MLP-like shows.
I honestly liked the 3rd episode. It reminded me of the training montage in Call of the Cutie. Also i loved Tillie. I low-key ship her and Bailey together, first ship in the series so far to me lol.
Exactly. This is how the show is meant to be seen. As a comfort show. Not something action-packed and profound with deep lore like G4 was, and it shouldn't be compared as such. It's more along the lines of G3 and Strawberry Shortcake, which have an audience of an entirely different set of people that Bronies often don't accept exist. We do also love profound shows like G4, but the kinds of people who exclusively like G4-type shows have a hard time accepting different genres if they're not exactly the same... and tend to shame the people who have different tastes as if everything else is objectively "bad". This show would fit right in alongside shows that were out in 2005, and I for one love that. It's nostalgic even though it's brand new, and I've been wishing so hard to see shows appear that make that happen. It's like that feeling we all wish we could have again of watching our favorite shows for the first time.
My only complaint is that the world feels empty. The only ponies we see are the characters that have been introduced as main characters so far, theres no background ponies and the scenes feel quite empty. Otherwise great show
I'm really liking what we've seen so far, and Cocoa is definitely my favorite character with her Sunny Starscout vibes. I, like many others have stated, just wish the episodes were longer
Just like the last review, I do agree with your statements. I think this was an improvement, Tilly was a great character, and it nice to see more of Cocoa’s personality. I would end this with another motorsports joke here, but that would feel forced.
I don't why, but the horses design kind of reminds me of the horse from Strawberry Shortcake (who's name escape me for some reason.), and I really like it.
Especially since the series each time takes a piece of sequence at the very beginning of the seconds given by the character Cocoa, afterward it remains pleasant and delicate to follow Especially since it leads to some really fun and adorable personality development. COACH TILLY Is very Funny Like Rainbow Dash
That makes this show a breath of fresh air compared to contemporary offerings; at least it isn’t an animated mockbuster or content farm. It's only a matter of time before we see fan crossovers. Your assessment of this being a show to watch after a hard day reminds me of how I view a lot of shows these days. Recently, I discovered LEGO's first foray into animation for its Fabuland line in the late 1980s, Edward and Friends. It's a very Brittish claymation show that I view the same way as you view Wild Manes. Here's a sample: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-keJua4D2Ymg.htmlsi=PSMTb9gd5FbRcSzQ
I’m glad to see you back in a good mood Nightwing. While I still haven’t seen wild manes yet now I just might consider checking it out thanks to you. Keep it up and hope you feel better.😊
Always great to see you in a good mood, Hawk. I personally think Wild Manes is a comfort show you turn to after a rough day (or even a good day) though TYT is technically this to some too. Anyways, good to see you back, Hawk. Hoof to heart🐴😎🐴😎🐴
Tilly is an absolute enigma to me, I feel like we know nothing about her. She fashions herself as sporty, but doesn't seem to be good at sports. She acts like a coach here, but that doesn't seem to be her profession. Every single thing the says sounds like it was made up on the spot. The training that has nothing to do with Cocoa's goals, the total refusal to answer any of Cocoa's questions... The way she tells Cocoa she passed the training the moment Cocoa actually gives up, and then when she claims Cocoa broke every record in the book, including her own (WHAT?)... Everything about her seems fake, like she showed up pretending she can help and then just trolled Cocoa the whole episode. Very notably, we don't see the competition Cocoa is entering, and the characters don't even know what the events will be!
@@Fungo4 Tilly is probably not a professional coach. It’s not really confirmed either way, but she comes off to me more as a well-meaning friend who does have a deep passion for coaching and athletics, sort of like Rainbow Dash. She loves to coach others, but I don’t think that’s her actual job. This is just something she loves doing, and she was willing to help Cocoa train for the competition because they are friends.
@@SmokeTheHorsehog That’s because I isolated the music for the Wild Manes trailer and used it as background music here. It’s a pretty clean rip, all things considered, but unfortunately, the sound effects still remain.
My favorite episode was episode 2 butunlike the G4 purists who are quick to hate on G5 I gave this show as chance and I am starting to like Wild Manes more I think this and Enchantimals are pretty interesting shows I hate to say this but I think Cocoa is kind of prettier and cuter than Sunny Starscout I am really liking Cocoa she is adorable! I really like her color too I think than the pony designs are better than Tell Your Tale they look like real ponies not skinny legs or big head and big chin! The thing about this episode I thought Cocoa was going to compete in a race like she said what did running and lifting heavy stuff have to do with just making cocoa? In my opinion Wild Manes is still better than G4! G4 was worse! Like G5 the ponies also have better designs and personalities than the Mane 6 of G4! The Mane 6 where rude to each other in G4!
This show is good at being fine. I'm already seeing signs of the formula it's set up (standard kids show plot gets recapped and solved in the blink of an eye) growing stale, but I'm cool with watching it when I'm bored. Doesn't hold a candle to TYT though.
@@CloudMistDragon Oh yeah, absolutely no disagreements about that. Tell Your Tale is objectively the superior show for a multitude of reasons. But you know…this ain’t bad itself. I enjoy it for what it wants to be, and I think having a more chill and laidback series in contrast to TYT’s more song-heavy and dynamic storytelling is a nice balance. It helps create multiple avenues for kids to get something out of horse/pony shows. :)
