Very good advice for the beginners Scott. This is a wonderful hobby that many people enjoy. Geo’s channel and Mantic59 are classics. Have a great day! -Josh
Nick Shaves has a great series of videos for beginners. Great video Scott. Just found your channel and subscribed. I started my channel in January but have been DE shaving for approx 7 years now.👍
Another good way to start is to go local, first. Find as much of the items possible at retail shops in your neighborhood. Usually it goes like this: Target, CVS -- Double Edge Razor, double edge razor blades, shaving cream (not likely to find firm soap), lathering brush, post shave balm, maybe styptic pencil Thrift shop, or maybe already have at home -- bowl, to use for making lather if choosing bowl-lathering Now, learn to shave, and shave according to your schedule. Soon the time comes to look for and check the many online merchants of wet-shaving products.
I started on Amazon 10 years ago, I have since fallen in the Rabbit Hole and I spend my day on eBay looking for a vintage razors (fat boy) and buying soap from Artisans soap makers. Lol. Good Advice here folks.
Before I bought ANYTHING I watched video, after video, after video. Endgame a wide variety of now it’s before I even started to put a razor to my face. I knew what razors were popular and what soap artisans to try out.
