WOW! Man, that opening was awesome! I hope this is something you stick with in future videos. This video makes me really miss being out there. :-( Again, excellent work!
Did I not ever respond to this comment of yours? lol. I guess too many comments for me to keep count of now. Anyway, glad you enjoyed, dude! I'm trying to tinker with different types of opening scenes, depending on what type of footage is being displayed. This video also makes me really miss being in LA...word.
Nice! Very cool opening, the music begged you to do that, lol. Drove eastbound to 110 but only in the dark, that video was sooooo LA, and that's a good thing!
I still love the opening...and it's been a day since I released it, lol. Glad you enjoyed. Yeah man; you need to do the drive the day...preferably on a Sunday morning, when you're almost guaranteed a congestion-free ride.
Sorry I'm responding over 2 weeks later; things got busy for me! Hey, glad the video really piqued your interest. Truth be told, it took me 1 1/2 hours, just to sync the music and pictures together in that opening scene. Glad a lot of people enjoyed the end result!
Very good! Be worth little time! Was watching, with all these 'overpasses' in Los A ngeles, hardly sees a 'pixado' (Grafit), if it were in a underdeveloped country, like mine, these bridges would be filled with grafit's! ('Pixar', is a destructive version of the Grafit!)...
Thanks, Zachary! I had sooooo much fun putting this video together. Especially the opening scene with the photos...spent a good 90 minutes, synchronizing the photos and music together. I was pretty happy with the way this turned out. Check back in soon for more videos. :-)
Did I not ever respond to your comment? Whoops, lol. I'm still trying to respond to everyone who dropped by to comment. Thanks for watching! The only thing that I wasn't too satisfied about this video was the inability to showcase more of the LA skyline toward the end...but, I didn't want to have to use a different song or speed up the footage any faster than I already had. So, ending the video with a "taste" of the LA skyline was the end result. Glad you enjoyed!
You could use that song for all your videos without a complaint from me. Great video and song. Is there a continuation of the video into the LA Downtown on the way?
Right on! Truth be told...I had been waiting a couple of years to hear a song that "fit" with the footage, and when I finally heard this song earlier in 2014, I decided it would be a good fit. As for a continuation of the footage, I might eventually do something like a downtown LA freeway tour, which would include the extra footage that continues along I-10 East.
Thanks for sharing! I remember Santa Monica Fwy clearly because we would take the Harbor Fwy to the Santa Monica Fwy and get off at La Brea Ave and, occasionally, we would ride the Santa Monica Fwy to the beach. I remember the Santa Monica and San Bernadino Fwy clearly.
Lovegainers5 : You're very welcome! I had so much fun putting this video together, even though I'll admit that it was time-consuming and perhaps a bit mentally draining at times, trying to synchronize the opening scene (pictures and music) together, lol. I'm glad the final product ended up with a lot of people enjoying this video. Did you ever check out my Interstate 405 video over Sepulveda Pass that I released last year? If not, I'll link you directly below. Thanks for dropping by! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zR0wp-0h1ec.html
Haha...maybe! I wanted to feature more in this video, but the song was just too "perfect" to let go, in favor of more footage. So...I decided to leave a taste of the downtown LA skyline...for those quick enough to glance at it for a second :-)
And you STRIKE again my friend !! L.A. is probably one of my favourite city in the world. I don't know why, but there is something really appealing to me there ! It has the perfect weather, beaches, mountains, lots of Expressways.... hence in the other hand, major earthquakes and probably one of the worst urban sprawl. This summer, I'll try to be back on the road. I plan to make a trip in Maritimes aswell as some Québec & Ontario roads. Let's cross fingers. Now I just need a new powerful computer to make my HD videos ! Keep up the good work dude! Btw, two questions : How long is it to work on a video like this one ? And how can you be sure, that the songs you put in your video, will not be muted by RU-vid? Cheers.
Wow. Amazing ride. Might not be as wide or as impressive infrastructure-wise as I-5 through Orange County, but there's nothing else quite like the Santa Monica Freeway. Loved the way the music and the video came together.
Thanks for dropping by again! You're right...the 5 in OC is a lot more impressive...still hard to beat those downtown views of LA though, like what the Santa Monica Freeway offers.
Enjoyed the setup with the song, that opening and timing was pretty unique! The view of Downtown L.A. at the end was great, but only wished for a few more seconds!
TW3EK69 : Nice! Thanks for dropping by and watching. Happy to be moving to the San Fernando Valley? I lived in Sherman Oaks for almost a year, back in 2011. Did you get a chance to watch my I-405 video, heading north over Sepulveda Pass? If not, I'll link you directly below to the video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zR0wp-0h1ec.html
After Sherman Oaks, I lived in Altadena for more than a year, before finally relocating back to the Bay Area in January of 2013. I'm still in LA for about a combined 50 - 60 days a year, due to work and to visit friends as well.
I have a question for Brent, or anyone else familiar with LA traffic. When you talk about the various freeways in LA do you say the name or the number? For instance; do you say Harbor Freeway or the 110?
We actually say either/or...for example, for the San Diego Freeway, we'll say either "the 405" or "The San Diego Freeway." That's leftover verbiage from the days when few people ever referred to the freeways by their numerical designation.
Nice! I always did like LA freeways! Nice ride! I have been on the 10 freeway but it was a long time ago and I was impressed with it back then too! Nice ride!
Forever and ever, lol. In all seriousness, if it's anytime after 3 PM and before 7 PM, you're probably looking at 2 to 2 1/2 hours of travel time, sticking to the freeways. You'll have more luck, taking one of several major boulevards/city streets from Santa Monica to downtown LA, and then taking the 110 north to Pasadena. You can probably cut the travel time down to about 75 to 90 minutes, taking city streets to the 110.
This stretch is one of the first videos I've watched on your channel, a few years ago! Glad to watch it again remastered! I hope that more LA freeways will be again remasterised!
Cool! Yeah...I'm slowly but surely going to upload new videos and remastered ones of the freeways around LA. Just a matter of taking the delicate time necessary to do it.
Hey, thank you! It took awhile to put this together...glad people are enjoying the end result. Are you a new subscriber? Don't recall seeing you comment on any previous videos.
Franks Qc Haha, not yet...I was responding to Jasmurf's comment. So many people left comments on this video already, that I probably won't get around to answering them all for another week or two. I'm actually at a restaurant at the moment, in transit from Los Angeles, back to San Francisco. I'll respond to your comment later on. :-)
Haha...it's probably not going to be a permanent new sequence...just something different. I may switch it up from video to video...I'm still waiting to finish up a new logo, before I proceed with a more permanent introduction scene to my videos.
Nice video and nice music! I do wonder whether you're gonna get trouble for using that music. I hope not, but I wouldn't be surprised. martin Solveig makes very good music :)
Haha, no, I'm in the clear. Truth be told, I have a secret account on RU-vid. The very first thing I do is to upload a "bare" video with nothing but the music to my secret account, to see if it passes the copyright restrictions without any issues. While this song did get tagged for copyright purposes, the music label still allowed the music to be playable, so that's when I proceeded with editing the video. And hey, glad you enjoyed watching!
***** : Wow. How did I miss your comment, this entire time? I'm usually fairly good at getting back to people who leave comments on my videos within a few days or a week, but I failed big time here, lol. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed watching! I've released all sorts of other videos in the past 1 1/2 years...feel free to check them out, if you like. My most recent video, released last Sunday, coincidentally also features Interstate 10, but 800 miles to the east in El Paso, Texas.
I'm trying, lol. I have so much going on in my personal life (all positive things), that it's difficult to sometimes to sit down and spend the time needed to put these videos together...with the way I want them to turn out, that is. But yeah, I do plan on releasing more videos from LA. I love it, every time I go back to visit (although don't put it past me to move back down once again). Glad you enjoyed watching; thanks for dropping by!
Thanks! This is the song that finally got me to put this video together...it sorta hit me when I heard it a month ago, that I could pull off the opening scene to the whole thing. Loved the way it turned out; thanks for watching!
Cool, glad you enjoyed the ride! The introduction I did here gives me some ideas of where my future videos may be heading toward. Time to reinvent myself, perhaps?
+Molly Brennan : Thanks for dropping by and commenting! I've been busy working on Australia freeway videos in 2016..feel free to watch my featured video in Sydney, if you need to kill some time.
Killah_Ghost909 : lol. Sounds like you enjoyed watching! Did you see one of my other more recent LA freeway videos? Showcasing Interstate 405 over Sepulveda Pass? I think you might enjoy that one too. Different music, but still a catchy beat. Link provided below. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zR0wp-0h1ec.html
Killah_Ghost909 : Hey man, I'm really glad you've enjoyed the 2 videos. It's probably a good thing you don't have to deal with the 405 anyway, lol. That freeway is usually one of the toughest commutes in the nation. Anyway, I'll link you to one last So Cal-area video, and then let you browse through my other recent releases, at your own leisure. I think you'll like this one a lot...Interstate 5 over the Grapevine in both directions. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pvUj2M-wRHQ.html
Thanks, dude! Did you happen to also watch my I-405 video over Sepulveda Pass? I released that a few months ago. I'll provide you the link below. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zR0wp-0h1ec.html
Thanks, man! Sorry I didn't respond earlier...been busy, and have been responding to a few comments, here and there...whenever the time allows me to get around to them. I'll probably be releasing a new video in about 2 weeks from now, so check back in soon.
Wow, thanks! It's nice to see when people really appreciate the hard work I put into these videos (I spent about 16 total hours of editing time, spread over 5 days, to put this together). Drop by again; I should have a new video up in about a week from now. Maybe by Sunday, if the timing works out okay.
Sounds awesome, I will check out more of your videos, I do not access to a computer, for fb I'm on my phone but when I get a chance I'll be checking your vids out. Peace!!
Ahhh, okay, I see. I'll link you to a couple of pretty cool ones (in my opinion, anyway, lol). I-5 North (CA), Climbing Up Five Mile Grade & The Tehachapi Mountains, Miles 177-198 North America's Busiest Freeway: Eastbound Ontario Highway 401 thru Toronto, KM 344 To Km 375
