I-10 Los Angeles, CA The San Bernardino Frwy (Exits 58-36) 

I love watching your interstate videos and I especially love LA. I visited CA in OCT2011 and I loved driving around LA but especially on the Interstate. LA is one of the greatest cities in the world and often is unfairly maligned as a huge urban sprawl. But it has one of the best road systems in the world which enables the city to be so physically large. Also LA is the most spacious city I have visited where one never feels cramped unlike most other megacities. The weather is great also!

Great video once again. I would also recommend the CA 71. It's a short freeway only 16 miles stretching from I-10 to CA 91. But it's worth the drive. Very little traffic, and lots of green hills.

this freeway used to be a major nightmare to drive before the 210 freeway was extended to san bernardino, but nowdriving on the i-10 through the IE has improved dramatically

2:21 - 2:30 I love how you can see the traffic waving over the overpass in the opposite direction. It's like a river, never ending...

HA! i live in El Monte Ca and go to school at Mt. San Antonio College. I see a good stretch of this road every day! The speed limit may be 65, but you could easily do 80 without any real trouble from the police. I do 80 mph every day :) If you keep going just a bit more, you'll come across the 605 and 10 interchange which is today being reengineered as a stack interchange. A bridge will now link the 605 south to the 10 east.

Great video. I really can't think of another interchange like the Kellogg, anywhere else in the country. It's not too rare to see 3 major freeways converge together in a single interchange, but the physical geography of the Kellogg is certainly unique. I would imagine that it'll be even more utilized, when CA 71 thru Pomona is converted to a freeway in the next year or so.

Actually, downtown Los Angeles has somewhat of a small city feel. Compared flying over New York City with her massive skyscraper clusters or the closest city being Chicago. NY and Chicago are very different cities. NYC is much more compact because of it being comprised of islands mostly. NY is more condensed due to it being settled earlier as the country grew West. Los Angeles freeway network is much more than those in NYC and surrounding metro.

@bmbsage - No, Los Angeles is 464 sq mi. Not as big as Houston in sq mi, but not 200 sq mi either

The Kellogg Interchange puts the Civic Center Interchange to shame, lol.

"LA" stretches from Malibu in the NW to San Bernadino. no break from ugly buildings L&R. 8 or 10! lane hiways. the area of Germany you describe is not nearly as large, or densely built up. far fewer super highways. it is ugly, i agree, & if you're in 2 hour stau, seems endless, but there r always some breaks between the larger, densely populated areas. i've driven all around there for years. Berdu to Malibu for a few years. You can't imagine the unending horror that is the greater L.A. basin.

Southern CALIFORNIA, they try to compare but nothing like it.

Jacksonville has about 750,000 and Miami about 400K approx city population. Miami is more happening, much better skyline and looks and body centered. The Miami metro probably has about 5-6 million Miami, Fort Lauderdale up to Palm Beach entire metro area. Ocean to Everglades about 30 miles inland and about eighty miles up the metro corridor from Miami to Stuart, Florida approx.

stop at montclair, turn around and go back 2 san bernardino and stay put!

Jackson Hole

Houston in no way has the population density that Los Angeles does. Houston is spread out but large areas are suburban like with sparse areas. Jacksonville is the largest city in Florida only because the city includes Duval County which consists on large unpopulated areas. It is large only in paper. When Americans or foreigners think of large metropolititan cities, do you honestly think Jacksonville comes to mind? LA pop density and sprawl is MUCH more expansive than Houston.
