A scenic early afternoon drive down I-77 heading southbound down the Blue Ridge Mountains through Fancy Gap. While breathtakingly beautiful during the day, this section of highway can prove dangerous at times during the night due to low visibility and dense fog. On March 31, 2013, there was a nearly 100-car pileup on I-77 near Fancy Gap; as a result of that crash, electronic variable speed limit signs are now in place along that stretch of I-77. The speed limit can be adjusted according to driving conditions at a given time.
This video also includes the short concurrency with I-74 in North Carolina.

I've always loved the drive down I 77 through Virginia and the beautiful mountain views. We would always drive this way heading south from SW PA to Miami. Do you know or remember there's an exit on I 77 in Virginia heading South and if you get off to the right there was a little white church by itself.. And it was sort of open there and then mountains in the background. I always have that visual and i always loved driving past there just seeing that little white church I'll by itself. I think there was a gas station not too far away from it. Thank you for taking us along as always. 😁

Beautiful view of the mountains along interstate 77 Didn't know interstate 74 ends at the North Carolina/Virginia state line

My parents drove this way when we went on vacation to Myrtle Beach, coming from Ontario. So nice seeing these roads again, I always liked I-77 in Virginia because of the Appalachians, the tunnels, and finally this view when descending into NC.

The view from the driver's side of a semi-tractor trailer is even more spectacular! And I got to admit, a little scary! Still the best job I ever had!
