This helped a lot, I don't live in Chicago I love in Baltimore,MD but I'm learning to drive and this makes it seem like it's easy to drive on an expressway
Dolton to Downtown via the Dan Ryan Expressway, Thank You! I drove this route in the morning on my way to work for 5 years 40 years ago, and have long since moved from the Chicago area to another state. Rush hours were TRULY an interesting and often frustrating experience.
Beautiful piece, Wanderluster! I've been a south-sider almost all my life and rides along I-57 and the up Dan Ryan has been a way of travel for as long as I can remember! Thanks for a beautiful video! :-)
@@thewanderluster470 I would watch it. Do it on a sunny week day. I don't think there is any recent morning rush hour on inbound Kennedy. Most are really old videos
Dan Ryan…expressway from hell. Grew up in Bridgeport, not far from Comisky….back in the 70’s and 80’s. Avoided the interstates at all costs. Moved a long time ago…they look improved some. Don’t get back like I used to so, I’m thanking for the share. Moved to Los Angeles and if you can believe it…the freeways there are even worse. LA isn’t a true grid city like Chicago….you have to have a car there, but not Chicago. Miss the city sometimes….it was nothing but fun in the 80’s 💯
wow i lived on sibley 50 yrs ago thats my exit 57 was still west for me lived on sibley east of halsted a few blockd between state and wabash red house across the street from the car wash red brick house wow dude thx for the drive
Ohh it seems so big city😮Tank you for sharing. I would like driving from Downtown Chicago to Hickory Hill, I Will be in vacation next Summer & I woul see how that's look. Hi from Morocco🎉
Welcome to the US! I have two videos of Hickory Hills. 95th street, which drives through Hickory Hills, and Archer Avenue which comes close. I hope you have a fun vacation!
You make the highway drive look like a breeze. We must have had the day where people drove over 20 miles+ above speed limit, large trucks casually switched lanes, bumper traffic, and accidents common. As noted by the morning news.
I'm probably going to drive from Boston to Minneapolis next year to visit family.... Chicago looks very cool with their skyline.... traffic and crime is something else, though the last time I drove through Chicago was in 2012...
Crime is actually not as bad as people make it to be…it’s bad, but there’s also 2 million and some change living here. I live in Lawndale on the SW side and I feel perfectly safe.
I've taken I-94 into the Chicago loop maybe 40-50 times and I'll tell you why this video must be fake: The driver was moving consistently more than 50% of the time and didn't experience a dozen near hits or dodge a single actual bullet. Driving into Chicago has never been anything short of a literal fucking nightmare.
I grew up in Chicago and learning how to drive is not that easy, but if you can drive on the interstate you can drive in other big cities such as Miami and Atlanta.
I live in CHICAGO IL but I'm not in town right now I'm in INDIANA with laboggie just out for a 80 minute drive to SAVANAH GA to drop brie off oh that sign said welcome to LOUISVILLE KENTUCKY oh its 12:00am on Monday 😯😯 it's tomorrow it's a Monday morning on a Sunday night
your camera is zoomed out too much and doesn't capture the actual human eye view of this approach. the visual effect is far more stunning and the skyline doesn't appear this far away. I'd zoom in a little.
I still have to shoot the skyway. I'm going to try a different zoom on that route. The second half of that route overlaps with the route in this video so we will get a good comparison of the different zooms
Depends on what you want. I'm currently in the burbs but you should expect to pay about 1,000 for something really basic in the city. Location matters though so its balance between, work/school commute, neighborhood living style and your wallet. Good luck!
Typical -- stuck in the left lane oblivious to everyone, forcing others to pass on the right. I drive this almost every day. Do us all a favor and MOVE OVER!
The left lane is cloest to center which gives the viewer the most proportional view of the road and views ahead as possible. I always drive with the flow of traffic which is demonstrated in multiple videos of mine. I can't control someone if they want to go 100mph and then pass me. Im not stuck, its on purpose. Also, the left lane doesnt have semis which would block the view and ruin the video. Perhaps think more before you comment
