April and I talk about the new Lamborghini Huracan replacement, and slept in the most haunted hotel in America: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F9dLgQx1F1s.html --Give it a watch on my NEW CHANNEL and let me know what you think! The car content is never going to stop, but after 8 years, I wanted to try something new, and I'm really enjoying it so far! I'll answer as many comments on the other video as I can.
For only $1300 more (plus labor), I’d just go with the new shocks and not have to worry about how hard the used set was driven. Or shop around for aftermarket.
It would be about $2k more. That $4,000 number Wizard said was just for parts. and the $2750 used number included install. But I agree. I wouldnt do used either way
Hey Hoovie, i recently picked up an 04 Viper a few months ago and have been loving it. The stock shocks are known to leak and cause the poor ride. I switched to a set pf BC Racing coilovers for $1400 and the car rides perfectly now. Absolutely love these cars!
This is exactly what I was thinking..... Instead of used shocks and struts..... But then he would complain the ride is harsh..... Some people can accept aftermarket parts are sometimes a trade-off, while others aren't willing to compromise,(or just want to whine about it on the internet)....and they aren't Giving up ride quality for performance handling. I still remember trying to sell a EF hatch Honda with a b18, but it has polyurethane front end, link style strut rod, and tein coilovers. Everyone who test drove it said, "it rides like shit" Until one guy showed up and said, "this thing is so responsive, like a gocart....." It just depends on what you want to do.
@loomspace he bought it at an auction. There's an element of gambling in his defence. Plus his main defence is that he's getting rich by making videos of his 'errors'
Former owner of a 2003 and 2013 Viper heres. Nice purchase, needs a little TLC. That oil seepage is most likely the oil cooler line - an issue from the Gen 3 onward. Both of mine did it, as they all do sooner or later. If you replace them with OEM lines, will do it again. There are aftermarket alternative which won't.
Yupp going to to replace the lines on my gen v this winter. Other wise this car hasn’t skipped a beat in the 20k miles of abuse I’ve given it. Oh and the stupid crappy window regulators
Always love when people change out factory parts that eat shit with factory parts..... "I use only factory parts on my car!", you didn't learn the first time it failed at 20k miles? lol
I do love the Wizards dry humor. "Yeah the shocks are 1k each, see were closing in on the snake" LOL 10K. You guys are great together. Never stop, just keep on keeping on, I do love these repaire quote segments.
Yeah or in one of the previous videos about his farm hoovie asked "what should i plant here" and wizard was like "i would tell you but its illegal" or something among those lines😂😂😂
You can get a set of BC coil overs for it for under $1.500.00 and really improve the suspension so you can have adjustable height and compression/rebound. Once the Wizzard has the new cats on I'd have someone re-tune it.
That exhaust is supposed to crossover in the rear. Left side engine exits on the right and vice/versa. There is also a small crossover pipe to equalize the sound (like an H pipe). Just doing that alone will make the existing exhaust sound better!
self employed so its just what he declares as earnings, so if he keeps it all in the business it doesn't count. A farm is a business property...he's not that silly.@@definitelyannpc2038
Depends also on the owner. I see 2020-2021 vehicles that are already rusting out cause every road in my state gets salted once the snow hits and maybe said former owner said screw it and drove it in winter.
@@thesovietvorona1007 Yeah I know. It's amazing. They can start rusting while still sitting on the dealer lots. Somebody told me it's because Chrysler paint sucks. The person who told me that works at Chrysler's paint shop.
@@Xplasma1 that’s not the only reason. Worked at an oil shop for a year. I’ve seen winter dailies that are forty with no frame rust (Volvo mostly) and new barely off the lot vehicles like F-150s already getting rust started. Every company outside of mainly Volvo uses somewhat subpar steel and it rusts quickly so that you have to get a new car sooner. If they still made things how they did before the idea of monopolizing an entire market existed we’d have cars that lasted for more than a decade. Let alone a few decades or more.
@@Xplasma1I can vouch for that, I've never been overly impressed with my new chrystler's paint jobs but for some reason I keep buying them.. thankfully I don't live in a salt state so I don't have to worry about that. Sadly finding my "dream truck" is going to be difficult to find not rusted/250k miles/completely thrashed, and yes it's another chrystler.. I will say atleast it's better then the paint from the 90s which had a habit of just falling off
Well, if you want more horsepower, you can make it. How much do you want to spend? It's 512 cubic inches, so almost 1 hp/cubic inch - and reliable all day long. If you want to turbocharge your wimpy 4-cylinder and feel superior, go right ahead.
Have to say, you can hear both banks individual, and revving it sounds just like the volvo inline 5 without a muffler, which sound pretty good in my oppinion, although it needs some mufflers
You can buy BC coilovers for the car! They’re around $1400 or so for the gen 3 my car came with them from factory. Also for tires I highly suggest the kumho ecsta ACR tires. Hook up insanely well! Makes me extremely happy you got a gen 3! I got mine now 3 years ago and it’s such a dream (with its issues) Giving the gen 3 the love it deserves! Fun fact- without the GEN 3 there would be no SLS AMG. If you look at the test car for the SLS it’s basically a long viper, and that same design inspired the AMG GT! You have 2 of the best cars that came out with the Daimler Chrysler group haha
My 2004 Viper is such a treat (and tastefully modded). I think this is the best value sports car that has held value so well. Enjoy and it's cool to see a car I own on the channel 🐍
I want that gen viper. They’re crazy cool and reliable plus they’re cheaper than like a new mustang dark horse or any other new car with 500HP. Super underrated car
$800 for an oil change/fluids? 11 quarts of engine oil, gearbox oil, and differential oil. I get my full synthetic oil at Walmart for $21 per 5 quarts, so about $45 there. Trans and differential fluid plus friction modifier - maybe another $50 for those fluids. Where's the other $700 coming from? Buy the fluids and get your new chippy to do it for you; she seems up for it...
You're a tad light on your prices, but the bill does seem expensive. A local indy shop quoted me $200 to change the oil in my BMW Z4 a decade ago. Nope. I made some ramps out of 2x10s and I've been doing my own oil changes on everything, since. Between 4 vehicles, I've saved thousands.
@@richieduck67 Viper takes 4 quarts of synthetic ATF+4 is about $8/quart/$32. 1.5 quarts of gear oil plus friction modifier. Hoovie is getting beaten either way.
I love that he always makes it seem like he was screwed over by the person he bought it from. Like everyone's a professional mechanic and knows anything about how a car works, and purposefully leaves out info. I bet everyone he buys from watches these and is like, "how would I know that? I'm an accountant."
@@mirthenary I was making a funny because every Gen beat the previous out of the box! Also don't all the fast 2nd gens have 5th Gen engines? 😂 If you haven't caught on yet, I'm being am asshole..... However then again, I'm not wrong 🤔
The new channel is a great idea. I'm subscribed and have watched the first two episodes and like everything with one exception. April needs to meet my cat Thomas to change her opinion of cats
People forget the viper was Carroll Shelby's bonkers creation when Dodge finally took the leash off him & his team. It's going to feel raw and unrefined. It was 100% meant to be, just like the AC Cobra cars. Sledgehammer for the track. Total F.U. power on tap (keep in mind the era and how slow cars were then). We're spoiled by today's offerings in this modern golden age of horsepower and it takes away from the experience of older legend/hero cars. Enjoy the car for what it is, and not what you think it should be.... after fixing the prior owner's eff-ups, of course. lol
Good lord. Reading the complaints of these cars being loose. I have 30+ years driving dirt roundy round cars. 600 hp with 8" tires. Also had a 2800lb weight rule for some events . The tire rule was meant to be our equalizer. So in my eyes the viper handles and bites fantastic. Try throttle modulation. Drive the darn thing. Ok all, be safe and healthy.
Hoovie, can you enlighten us as to what pinball and racing games are in the back corner near the Trans Am? I can make out Outrun 2 but am at a loss as to the others. Thanks for the fun content!
Wow! great to see the Alfa Romeo Milano (75 here in the uk) in the shop. I had one of these back in the 90s a 3.0 V6 a fantastic car wish I still had it. But here in the UK they are so rare now you just don't see them.
20:50 you are not wrong about those ev part prices esp batteries but those are current prices I just took a short course on ev repair and the instructor mentioned that in the next few years your average shop should be able to preform bat swaps and your larger shops should be able to replace individual battery cells.
I'm not a fan of black sports cars. They get very hot in the sun. A Viper should be red or green. Glad to hear that the exhaust is a simple fix. Anyone else notice the beautiful Alfa at 9:50? I wonder who's Alfa Romeo 75/Milano is in the shop. It's one of my dream cars. Thanks.
I considered buying this gen Viper post-COVID when I was looking for a weekend toy. The torque is intoxicating. Got my 06 911 S instead. Living in Arizona at the time with the great mountain twisties was the tipping point.
Omg! Never thought Wizard would be on MorphMarket hahaha. I keep snakes so that was a funny unexpected surprised! GTPs are very beautiful for sure. Not easy to keep tho haha
Good friend of mine has a 3rd Gen Viper and I love that thing. It's so brash and savage, it's one of the most insane cars I've ever been in, though he also has the V8 Ariel Atom and I rode in that right after the Viper and it scrambled my brain.
good video, lost it in the middle a little with the lambo tractor stuff, but brought it back with the viper prices and the ending changeup was good too, cuts off abrutly though
It’s, by far, the goofiest-looking Viper. I imagine a 1932 Chev coupe hot rod is hell to drive but it’s iconic - as is the first gen viper. Let me tell you what I’m looking for in a viper… not “refined”.
I'd really like to see that Viper sorted. Those shocks are a rediculus price. Are there any after-market shocks that can do the job just as well or better for aa whole lot less money?
I've owned more than a dozen Corvettes. I got a wild hair years ago and test-drove a couple of Vipers. I couldn't believe those things were street-legal. The tires broke loose when given the slightest bit of gas. The car is so wide, it fully takes up half the road, leaving no room for error. As a bonus, the car is bare bones with no modern amenities. For all this, you get to pay a huge premium.
I'd spend $400. for the mini-cats, add 4 of the least expensive tires that fit and glue a "For Sale" sign on it with a break-even price......all while running for the door.
