I Added A New Radio To My Collection 

Thanks Gerald , this is my second Heathkit , and probably my favorite HF radio . Tube radios are definitely my favorite radios to talk on . And like you said , they are far more superior to any of these newer radios . It's not that I dislike the newer equipment , because I don't . I have some newer stuff too . I just prefer tube equipment over anything else . I also prefer Solid State over Surface Mount . So in my opinion , when it comes to performance I think that Surface Mount comes in 3rd , Solid State comes in 2nd , and Tube comes in 1st .

It's a great radio Rick . I'm definitely impressed with it . I've had quite a few tube radios over the years , and I know they receive better than transistorized radios do . But I'm hearing way better with this radio than I was expecting to .

I love the " glow in the dark " radios . I also had an SB102 , and a SB 200 and 220 Heathkit amplifiers. My main likes were the Swan radios . My favorite was a Swan 700 cx ,425 watts output from the radio.

Thanks Luke ... the receive audio sounds great , and it's receive is really strong . I know it hears better than my other radios .

Nice ... sounds like that radio had quite bit of work done to it ... and even though it did ... it was still well cared for .

Harper , the Identifier is the SB-630 . It has 4 features to it . It has a rotary clock , and a built in SWR meter . It also has the Phone Patch feature in it ... and it lights up , or buzzes (depending on which you choose) every 10 minutes to remind you to identify when you're talking .
