Lee have the irons swing weighted, but end weighting will help, and graphite shafts will aid the speed. Good to see you back in the groove, you know where the happy balance is, with life, family, job and golf now. Enjoy yourself Lee. The irons remind me of Mizuno JPX's.

I want to try them out but not sure I can use a mid sized iron. All over the face lately. May need the regular Dynapowers but prefer a softer feel 😢 Not sure what I will go with this year yet. Current iron is the PXG Gen3 xf iron.

I like the Wilson forged irons. Nearly bought them myself. As for your swing issues, watching you is like a mirror image of my swing. Right down to the locking out of the right leg on the backswing. That's what I'm working on and that's what's helping my contact. Trying to keep a tiny bit more flex in the trail knee and a little bit less leg action.
Nice vlog, love Whitsand Bay and find your content really interesting as it really is relatable! Using clubs that may golf 'easier' is the way to go and really improves your enjoyment. Keep up the great work and looking forward to more vlogs!

I have a full set of Haig Ultra forged blades from the late 1960s, and i love them, but i am interested in trying the new Wilson irons to see what i can get out of them. We shall see…

Lee I am 53 and played to scratch/1 for most of my days until recent times. I had to leave my ego in the locker room by getting myself lighter shafts. I just bought myself a set of the previous Wilson D9 Forged with the S300 105g shaft which seems to work well for me. Those 130x KBS must be like swinging an axe ! I have also packed in carrying the golf bag and now stick it on a trolley and it makes the world of as difference to my energy levels, especially when it comes to the back 9 or last 6 holes. Food for thought pal. Keeping your energy levels up will improve your golf and motivation for more content. I started my golfing life with Wilson irons cut down for me as a kid and now I am pleased to be back using their irons as I move into my twilight years.
That's kind of what I was thinking. When he said he was weak with these I was like yeah I could see that. The 130X is a beast of a shaft and I could see when he goes to look at lightening the shafts, maybe moving to a S or S+ might be helpful with losing some of those shots right.
I’m 64 and have just started using an electric trolley. Been a bit of a pain in the appalling weather we have had, I have carried / pulled a trolley in summer so it will be interesting to see if the electric helps me more this season
I use graphite shafts, not because I’m weak just because they are less taxing on a 50 year old body. I use recoil dart 75 and find them easy on the body.
16 handicap and play wilson staff cbs and love them,yes lack consistency but lofe them and nowhere near as good as you are. Youre just back and your feel will come back. The dynapower are beauties. Great video and looking forward to the next.

Such an honest story Lee. I have only recently seen your videos as I am a returning golfer from a 15 year break. I played of 12 then and went out yesterday for my first 18 in 15 years. My brand new clubs were purchased back in December after a fitting. I came out of the fitting with the Wilson Dpower and really like them. They were such a good fit for me. Shout out Wilson. Great Vid... I love wilson irons.. Played the Di7's, then D200, C300, D7 forged and now on the Dyno forged. They look great, long hitting and forgiving 😊. They might not have the shelf appeal of the p790's for e.g, but that doesn't matter when signing a winning score card 😉.
Yes, the heads of the DynaPower forged are heavier. I've noticed this too. Perhaps if you dropped downed 8-10 grams in shaft weight, it would help you get the club through a little better?

I don't know why anyone would be obsessed with hitting blades. You can have someone come out with a set of super game improvement irons and beat you 9 out of 10 times. I even think a lot of the pros would do well hitting something more forgiving.
I love the wilson stuff, im still playing the D7 forged with the fujikura pro tour spec(s) graphite took the steel out and i havent found any other club to match them
I remember when you played Srixon and Cleveland equipment and would have thought that range of equipment would cover most levels of handicaps. I know what you are going through as I was a decent golfer and now find it difficult to hit a decent ball, never know whats going to happen. Good luck.
Lee, no shame in leaving the blades behind. I’m a 3 handicap and don’t play blades. I want to have fun on the course and not struggle. Golf is hard enough, so why would I make it more difficult with blades. Forget the ego and use whatever clubs work best for you and your game. Cheers.
I have played the d9 forged for 2 seasons and love them. I decided to get the cb’s this year to work on my ball striking. I love the cb’s! Great feel and surprising forgiveness!
I love the Wilson brand. I'm surprised you've not got a combo set of the forged Dynapower and CBs. I am a high handicapper and use the CBs and I do that so I concentrate instead of switching off like you said. I think that is good way to get better. I enjoyed the video and it does make think I should try the new irons but I really like the ones I have lol
I’m getting convinced more and more that ‘game improvement’ Irons keep high handicappers from getting better. It’s like you said, you’ll focus less, or get lazy… resulting in worse strikes.
Great irons. Make golf easier. Sounds like you def need a shaft fitting as they play completely different to what you were used to. Good luck with them
Have played Hogan blades since I was a kid. Great if you can hit the range and play 3 times a week. Last year I switched to D9 Forged. You obviously still need to swing them properly, they aren’t THAT forgiving, but I find I can still score well on one round a week with them.
I went from Nike Vapor Fly Pro irons to Caley 01T - didn’t notice a massive difference in distance or dispersion, still playing decent golf, but recommend the Caley Iron Set for any golfer!
I have been thru it with all kinds of clubs. I can't get away from my Wilson D100s... The only clubs I want are newer ones. The new Dynapower set looks great.
HI lee if you are losing the ball to the right it could be that your golf shaft is to strong or if the lie angle is wrong as 2 things will hinder your direction

These irons are getting great reviews 👍 ... but since the strongest iron I use these days is a 7-iron, these Wilsons might not offer much more than my Titliest cm-735s.
When I retired in 2007 I bought Wilson's di7 fat shaft irons and they were not pretty. Those were about the most forgiving irons available at the time and I played some of my best golf with them. I was probably a 9 hc at the time. I now play TM's Sim2 irons which are forgiving irons too but as a full fledged geezer I need the forgiveness. They actually look good to my eye at address. I also carry 3 hybrids in the bag. Golf is still fun but I don't play as much as I did when I first retired.
I've been a bit off for ages lee just getting it back a bit now was off 3 past year now up to 7 but at least it gives me a chance when we play you in this year's pal 😂👍 keep going mate
Good video Lee. I currently play the Wilson D7 forged but I'm keen to upgrade to the Dynapower Forged to treat myself. It looks like the back of the club sticks out at address from some of the photo's I've seen online. Is this the case?
Lee who fit you into C-Taper 130X? I can't recall ever fitting anyone into that shaft and KBS has a minimum 7 iron swing speed recommendation for that shaft at 95mph and I'd be shocked if your speed is north of that. I'd be willing to bet someone was trying to correct a spin or launch issue with those and that's a mistake. I'd also suggest your right miss is not being helped by a shaft that has virtually no lead deflection. Please go and get fit for iron shafts again and I think you'll see some immediate improvement.
My normal shaft is or was the Nippon Modus 120 x which I had in previous 2 sets. Wilson fitted me into the 130x as they don’t do the Nippon. I’ll be honest I’ve never been 100% comfortable in this shaft.
@@LWG I think the 120X is a fairly soft x flex. As someone who play that for a while and went to KBS, I found the $taper 120 to be nice. Good weight at 120 grams and feels firm but not overly stiff. I might even consider taking your old 120X shafts out of your old clubs and having them put into these.
To give you some perspective your C-Taper 130x plays stiffer than the Project X 7.0 shafts Rory plays. The closest C-Taper equivalent to your old Modus 120x shafts would be the C-Taper Lite 110S. Someone at Wilson made a mistake. Everyone does now and then but luckily you can fix it and you'll be very glad you did.
I was fitted for c-taper lites in 2020 and things went downhill from there. Got to a point where I have been stuck for years. Weak right shots and sometimes bouts with the shanks so bad I wanted to quit. C-Taper Lites are heavy in the bottom end and at 52 I’m trying to break the habits I developed with them. Keep moving forward. Really enjoy the channel and your open and honest take on things. Take care!
If you can play more, and practice, there's nothing wrong with blades. I had 620MB, and broke 80 for the first time in my life a few weeks ago, then the next week shot 74. I then started to feel a bit rotten and had low energy and in the opening scramble, I couldn't hit for toffee, so it got me worried, so I swapped them out for the same shafts, and grips, but the older T100 head, and they just don't feel the same. I know they'll help, but it's going to take months to get used to them. Probably should have just kept the blades.
@@LWG I’m a 6 hcp golfer & your swing is so much better than mine to be honest. You’ll see some videos of my swing on my account. My short game is my strength though. 100 yards in im on it.
Hi Lee, good to see you back again, on your recommendation earlier this year you did a vlog on the Wilson Dynapower irons and the added loft and carry you got with them so booked a fitting session and traded my old Ping G irons for the Wilson Dynapower six to gap wedge in graphite, not only did I gain the extra yards but the dispertion is so much tighter now with every club through the bag, thanks for the tip, you've made a senior golfer happy and hopefully competitive again.🏌️♂️😃
15 handicap I play new Wilson forged dynapower with Dynamic Gold MID 115gr regular: excellent contact and more elevation. I played P790 before powerful but low trajectory and dry contact for me ❤ this new shaft from Dynamic Golf is very interesting stability, weight and elevation more easy as the classic🦾
