This is part one of me making a 3d printed intake for my Nissan 350z. I 3D scanned the engine bay using my Einscan - Einstar 3d scanner and then used that data to design an intake within fusion 360.

I'm liking your process a lot. I have a very similar workflow but I'm a bit new to Fusion 360 (I know other CAD packages) so watching you work is like a tutorial for me, lol. Also, my Mole 3D scanner is good for small parts, but it isn't quite up to the task of these bigger jobs, so the Einstar is definitely on my wish list. Great video... thanks.

Thank you so much! Honestly, my workflow is a little chaotic...but I guess it gets the job done.

Don't happen to have a scan of the center dash do ya? lol. Awesome process. I have been doing a bunch with my Z as well. Great work man.

I do not, I will try to get one....my scanner has not been cooperating lately.

@@EndMotive no worries. That would be awesome though. I am still working to get a good scanner. All I have is my phone and it’s only good for certain things. Working on custom Tesla style screen for my z. Screen is all done. That’s the last part I’m on. I was trying to design it from scratch but having a hard time with the curve of the dash.

@@wrathovtyr5579 I can imagine! Compound curves absolutely suck to try and get right!

I printed one for my 350z last year. I used PETG and wrapped it in the gold heat tape. it still ended up getting too hot, got too soft and collapsed. 😢 Please keep us posted on your results

Yeah not great for long term, but could work in a pinch!

Just curious what material you printed with? PetG or ABS?

Does it matter what type of scanner you use? Im looking at a couple, but undecided.

Not really, you definitely get what you pay for and better the scan data is easier it is make parts fit first try
