it has been over 6.5 months since my last video. Life got really crazy and busy for me, I had more on my plate than I could manage, I know I'm not alone there.
It's been a hard year but things are looking up. I will be making content again, too soon to tell how often but I will not be disappearing again.
Many people reached out to me to see how I was and to make sure I was ok. I am grateful for that, it meant a lot to me during these busy and hard times.
I've missed interacting with you all and hope that the future is bright.

Welcome back! We’ve all went through a terrible time! But there is a light at the end of the tunnel! New year, new project, new friends, mixed with old friends, and even if friendship is per video only, we will thrive! Worms would say: yumm, new bedding, let’s get at it! ...I have an UWB since two weeks and my reds are doing well in it. Looking forward to your new videos, take care and stay healthy.

Hi welcome back. I have enjoyed your videos. My question to you is do you have problems with mites, springtails, or other invading your worm farm? How do you deal with it on the farm or when on a small scale? Thanks!
@westmountainorganic8084
@westmountainorganic8084 3 года назад
I dont have many problems with pests at the farm besides mice and centipedes. But they are managed naturally by the digs and cats and birds at the farm most of the time. I rarely have to set traps. My bins often get mites and other things in them though and often I will do nothing. At least not anything rash, slow changes and watching is all that it needed usually. Sometimes ill allow things to dry out more or watch out not to add too much acidic material. It also depends on the pest. Springtails are good and so are some mites. The issue is if there are so many that they start to out compete the worms.

Crazy times brother and it may get crazier. My wee worms are doing good. Got a few containers outside doing worm tea and I’ll be potting the debris in a couple of months. Last year I did it and got lots of mysterious starts which turned into some hobby food growing.

I have had mystery plants pop up from some vermicompost as well. Always fun trying to figure out what they are. I'm glad things are going well for you!
