I am the vine; you are the branches. Homily for the 5th Sunday of Easter, Year B. 

In today’s gospel Jesus uses the image of the vine and the branches. Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. As part of the vine we are expected to bear abundant fruit; but cut off from the vine we wither and die.
