That’s why I’m so happy askeladd was in S tier, sure he’s a normal human but so is everyone else in the verse and he’s an amazingly written character with one of the best send off scenes I’ve seen, completing him and thorfinn’s character arcs in one perfect scene.

yohan is in F tier because he was the biggest deception ever, i think the only reason people think he's a good vilain is because people are very suggestible and they hyped him the whole manga, but when you finally see him, he doesn't even come close to the hype, and the whole story, who was really great so far, feel like a waste of time chasing after a lie. The myth of Johan was great, the character was horrible.

It takes a deep dive into the complexity of Johans character and everything that I learned about the character there was kind of a finalizer why Johan is my favorite Anime Antagonist. It’s a 2 hour watch but I highly recommend it.

I wouldn't really say SATISFYING ending... Bro was cool and all but he ended up dying useless on a deathbed. I'm not saying all villains have to do egregious things(I believe Garou is an S-tier villain and his ending in the manga isn't evil) but it felt like his death wasn't as impactful. Also, I don't think comparing a villain to its episode count should be a reason to put it higher because Aizen was an S-tier villain for a short time and then dawg died to plot armor in 3 minutes.... same thing with Yhwach and he's only an arc long.

@@aryanb5749 Actually, I think the one who died useless is Pouf. He even drops dead like the fly that he is. At least Meruem died with dignity like the giga chad king that he was always meant to be. Also, I read somewhere Meruem's death is supposed to be symbolic. Like most kings in history, he died from poison and with a woman by his side. To me, his death is imapctful because of his great character development. In the beginning, he was arrogant and believed himself to be superior to all life forms and mercilessly killed anyone, even his own kind. But after meeting Komugi (another well written character), he began to be more humble and merciful. There's a reason why the Chimera Ant arc is most people's favorite arc (next to York New) and I think it's mainly because of Meruem's character arc. And the overall story arc & fight scenes, of course. TL;DR: Imho, Meruem deserves to be in S Tier because his character arc is too unique/different compared to other shounen villans (that I know of at least). Btw, what do you think is a good reason to put an anime villain in S Tier, if you don't mind me asking?

Askeladd, Johan did it as well who I both think are better than Meruem even if Meruem has more development. If I where to rank the top 6 on this list based on writting it would look something like this: 1. Johan 2. Gilgamesh 3/4. Griffith 3/4. Aizen 5. Askeladd 6. Meruem

When I am bored and searching for maga or manwha to read online its even worse. I am literally typing in: Best manwha with (adjective of your choice) mc, and no matter what, all the sites I find go like: Top 10 most powerful MC! I even found a Site where it compares the storytelling, charachters, and MC overpowerdness and you could immidiately tell, that the former two were just adjusted to whatever the latter was. Semes like Powerrating is all that matters to readers. Where are my well written protags that actually have to fight to gain power instead of being op all the time? Where are those that aren't powerful and have to win against the odds? The Most popular unfortunately are not those well written but incomparably overpowered :(

and tbh vinland saga is overrated asf i watched the first season i was like ok this is looking like a top 5 then the second season came and it went downhill. The second season was terrible the main character stayed in one location the entire season,didn't fight and acted like a bitch the entire season. We didn't even get the satisfying ending of seeing Thornfinn reach vinland which was the main purpose of the show.

Yea hes well written i even consider him better than a couple on this list but considering this is main a villain tier list im fine with him being down cause hes not a villain per se he was more of an antagonist he mostly just wanted to die and not hurt anybody.Acnologia would had been a better fit here

"Griffith" is nowhere near S tier. All of his goals were completely gone, and he completely betrayed his own people, all for no reason at all. Completely going against his own values and virtues; other than wanting to be the strongest. This character development would have been fine, *if* , he wasn't the leader of the group he betrayed. In other words, that's not good writing.

This, most of the tierlists are just popularity rated or fandoms hating vs loving the characters, on top of recent bias of who recently picked(but that part cant be helped). You can be the best villain of all time but if you did something someone didnt like, you can go to F tier lol. Its just how these things go without stricter guidelines.
