As a Celtic fan I hate how old firm focused the Scottish league is, why the hearts v hibs rivalry wasn't televised is beyond me, more love and attention needs to be brought to other aspects of the Scottish game, it's not the Celtic rangers show at the end of the day

I'm a Spurs fan, and there's something about Scottish football that I love, especially the lower leagues. Since the 70s, I've been following Ayr Utd and Hamilton Acc. I've noticed that Sky Sports loves to show live games involving Celtic or Rangers

Sky Sports never showed Arsenal Spurs in the 2002 run in. It was basically the game that was gonna decide the title (manu knew beating Arsenal wouldn't be enough, and had won the fixture 6-1 the previous season).

Well I live in England and would prefer to watch this than Chelsea vs Arsenal or whatever! More passionate fans here. I used to go to a night out in Edinburgh called PURE. It was up there with the most ‘mental’ atmospheres I ever encountered and I suspect was indicative of the sheer fervour of the Edinburgh pubic!

Refreshments at matches these days are hard to take ,at my club blackpool fc i have three grandkids and a daughter comes ,and i let them use my bank card its 40 to 50 quid for a soft drink and hot dog for us. this 10 quid for drink and pie taking the piss lol.

Very much an 'underated 'Derby' To be fair both could have done with looking at a bigger capacity when they both re-developed around the time of the millenium as THIS FIXTURE would sell-out a 25-30 thousand capacity stadium.Unfortunately Tynecastle & Easter Road are suffocated by Tenements which was probably the reason why the late Wallace Mercer (loved by some ..hated by others) had visions of a 'one edinburgh club' which im glad to say didnt come to 'fruition'.Both clubs have 'great support' & deserve more success but are constantly 'overshadowed' by the 'Ugly Sisters from across the M8.

Massive game Blair, worked for a Steeplejack firm in Edinburgh, wow they were great lads and fiercely into their teams. I want to swear about SKY , we are Leeds and they mess us about. No disrespect to the Old Firm, but the Edinburgh derby goes back way further. Heart of Midlothian formed in 1874, and Hibernian formed in 1875, and they played each other that year. The game ended in violence as the Hibernian fans chased the Hearts captain and founder Tom Purdie. Hearts were from the Canongate area, and Hibs from the Cowgate area, they formed the team exclusively for Irish Catholics, the first sectarian football club in Scotland. Celtic were formed in 1888 by Hibernian fans from Glasgow who wanted a team closer to home. Rangers had been formed in 1872, but the rivalry with Celtic didn't even start for a while, with the two clubs being fairly friendly, and they became known as 'the old firm' because they planned draws to get more money for rematches. Anyway for celtic fans who say hearts are just 'huns withoot the busfare' it's ironic because celtic fans are literally Hibernian fans who didn't want to travel all the way to Edinburgh.
