mad respect for charlie keeping his shit with so many bosses being so hard. I don't have the mindset for doing anything 20 times or more and need to cool down, especially when you have a long tedious walk like dragonlord. On the other hand its amusing to see how he seems to vent when chat is being stupid lmao
Yeah I wish I had his tolerance and patience. I get fuming angry by the time I've spent more than an hour on a boss, but won't be able to get over it if I put it down 🤧 Radagon is currently wrecking my shit since I can't read him anywhere near as well as I could Malenia 🤧🤧
@@ryuman757 dude im literally on my 3rd day of trying to beat maliketh, i dont rage, because every time i get another extra hit i can feel the improvement, and know ill beat it eventually.
Ive beaten all the souls game and he is the second boss I’ve struggled the most on, beaten only by Demon of Hatred; running an ultra gs build definitely significantly increased the challenge against phase 1, but I will admit phase 2 is well balanced for heavy weapons which is something I can’t say for some other bosses *cough Morgott cough*. But yeah in all he took me around 4 and a half hours to finally fell
I mean I do the same as a coping mechanism when I’m getting my ass kicked in these games. In retrospect, after you beat the boss, it’s usually you just sucked and hadn’t learned the move set yet or were making dumb split second decisions.
@@ExtraordinaryFate yeah godskin duo. They are literally two bosses just thrown together, they weren’t really designed to be together. It’s what makes them so tough.
@@OnlyJustCrazy godskin duo is the only boss in the entire game that I felt like was bullshit, I struggled for hours on some other bosses but none of them felt like bs except godskin
Fun Fact about the Elden Beast's Ring Attack where it soars into the Sky: It always goes opposite of where it started, so if you run away from it it'll land right next to you and you can get some free hits in. (as opposed to it being half the planet from you)
@@ryuman757 Oh that's not what I meant, the Ring always spawns directly on top of you. The Elden Beast always moves opposite of where it started. I've seen a lot of Content Creators continuously run straight towards it and then get frustrated when it runs away. If you just run away from it, it'll end up right next to you.
@@redyoshicraft Word that makes sense. Maybe if the boss was a singular being, and not a 2nd phase, I probably would've gotten those attacks down 🤣 I was just desperate and would run any direction out of the rings as quick as I could, and never even knew what would happen until I saw it used on my mimic, lol.
@@ryuman757 Ah, yeah, fair enough. Phase 1 (to me at least) is sort of a weird balance of, "This doesn't feel challenging enough to be the Final Boss, but I really don't want a Phase 2." xD
@@redyoshicraft I personally had major RNG issues with Radagon. Dude would whip out whatever attack he wanted at any given moment, and would always confuse me if it was gonna be quick, or delayed. I had his attacks down, but his combos were extremely unpredictable at times (those moments where he spammed the lightning were always busted). Probably took me 15+ hours to beat them together 🤧🫣 I had way less issues with Elden Beast.
watching these fights makes me realize how insanely OP my 2H greatsword build was, because it just staggered this fight from 100 to 0. Never even saw any of these attacks.
so does Gideon spy on your progress thru the game? I remember hearing something like that, and in my first playthru I went and did malenia before Gideon, so Gideon had some of her scarlet rot spells. But I hadn't went and done mohg so he never used any of those spells, but Charlie did mogh first and you can see Gideon using the spells, but none of Malenias spells. Kinda interesting
Its how u talk to him after beating the boss, but i might be wrong as charlie didn't talk to him after leyndell, or it's how the game tracks which bosses you completed, and applies it to gideon
As someone with sensitive eyes, I truly can't stand that insanely bright screen every time you enter Radagon's room. I literally have to close my eyes every time I attempt it and it makes me not really want to bother with the fight. I bailed after a couple attempts and will probably come back when I'm slightly overleveled so I don't have to spend a bunch of attempts to beat him. I wish they would at least skip that crap after the first time you see the intro.
@@ianmurphy4435 It's called "accessibility"-- literally one of the most important factors for game developers, and lots of gamers have sensitive eyes. That's why most major websites have a dark mode, because a lot of people have issues when it comes to looking at a completely bright white screen. I also never claimed in my original comment that it was their problem; I'm saying it sucks for some people and it's a pretty unnecessary part of the game, especially since every other boss encounter skips the opening cutscene after your first attempt.
For those having trouble with radagon i recommend playing aggressive, after his big AOE's he's vulnerable for about a second and a half around there so that's free damage. On the goldbreaker skill, where he jumps into the air and begins channeling, unless you need to heal, don't roll backwards, the timing is scuffed asf cuz the wave needs to travel. For free damage, I roll in when he's halfway done travelling down,. Also always always get the free hits in when you spawn in. When he's turning around and walking, rush towards him and get as many hits as you can. On my dual katana build, i can get about 6 or 8 hits in before he attacks, and that's huge. And for that huge three strike aoe, same as the goldbreaker, going in is a lot easier than dodging back, standing right next to him, u can land one light, dodge, one light, and maybe around 3/4 light attacks before dodging the last one, before he's vulnerable again. And for his grab, he takes about 2 seconds to wind up, so don't panic, you can get a couple hits in, then dodge inwards, because his recovery time is really long on that. I played this fight really similar to godfrey's, being very aggressive. i was using a STR/DEX build, with bloodhound step on the katana. Playing on NG++, Level 255 (which may have made it a lot easier than it should have been), with about 90 of both STR and DEX Found it a lot easier to just equip a starlight shard and put all but one of my flasks to Crimson. For the physick it helped my aggressive playstyle by putting in increased stamina and stamina recovery. For those who use colossal weapons and jump attacks, like i said wait for those moments after his AOE's, and try not to get greedy due to how slow colossal weapons can be. Best of luck!
is it weird to root against charlie for the first few tries of a boss? i think i just enjoy the fights too much, like i want it to take him a lot of tries so i can keep seeing the insane design and moves
One thing I really appreciate about Charlie and how he condones himself on his channel is he teaches Stoicism. Notice he never loses his shit. He never freaks out. I love and appreciate this about Charlie, it's a great example especially for youth.
Watching heam beat godfrey and horah loux in like 5 tries was truly demoralizing. It took me like 80 tries(its my first souls game) it actually pissed me off a little. I see him and asmingold use the same approach. Run around a whole and heal way back .
Interesting thing I noticed, is just how many aliases there are in this game. You have Morgott whos alias is Margitt, Godfrey is initially introduced as Hoarah Loux in the opening cutscene, Radagon is actually queen Marika, Ranni introduces herself as Renna the first time she hands you the spirit summoning bell and I wouldnt be surprised if there were more. I wonder what the meaning behind this is. Something like power of ones name?
Radagon seems to have his own personal thoughts and ambitions though and he was his own body, for example Marika with the breaking of the ring where as Radagon actually tried to fix it, but the greater will decide they should share sentence forcing them into the same body, it basically seems like Radagon paid for every choice Marika made just like her waging war against the fire giants and its implied his hair is red because of a curse from them, though he is just the male alter ego of Marika.
I think Morgott and Margit are actually different Omens as there's another "Margit type" omen you can encounter outside the capital. Margit isn't unique.
@@MINTY_FN No. They are just literally the same dude coming to pester you. It's pretty obvious from the way he speaks and how he addresses you with familiarity.
@@ExtraordinaryFate someone’s butt hurt lol he’s not planning on like insta phasing her he’s been saving her for her own livestream because he knows he’s gonna take hours on her. Man’s jokes around but he doesn’t summon and all that because he thinks he’s too good he does it for more challenge so when he over comes that challenge it’s more satisfying.
@@cronkus nah he’s definitely saving her last just so he can make ah video about her that says something like easiest “I beat the hardest boss first try” that’s why he hasn’t tried to kill her yet he’s clearly trying to become op just for he can say it’s not even that hard
Malenia is easy just dont get hit by her. Easy boss. Took her out on second try in level 21 with my bare hands. Shes not that hard, as long as u kill her:) little tip for u bois
Running a small un-upgraded dagger with Royal Knight's Resolve in your left hand, and a strong weapon in your right hand is OP, it literally doubles your damage for a few seconds if you two hand the RKR weapon, apply the buff, then switch back to your damage weapon.
If you guys have never played PVP Dark Souls against a cheater, fight Gideon in this game then you'll get at least some feeling fighting a cheater with infinite FP/Mana.
I got lucky because I saw him, went up behind him incase I had to fight him, and as soon as I saw that healthbar appear I shoved the hand of melania up his ass and did a weapon art, and that guy was toasted. So i didnt experience that fight really lol
@@keith7261 yeah when I first fought him I have a pretty tough time but when I create a new character with pure strength build, I legit like 5 shot him with the Greatsword lol
lore even implies it with the festival, its sorta supposed to be this thing with all the champions of the realm banding together to release the legend they all admire
@@NANMANTheServoSkull Radhan was the by far strongest being until he got scarlet rot. You can definitely 1v1 him, but it is supposed to be hardcore difficult.
@@lexmortis5722 hardcore difficult is an overstatement it's certainly not easy but it's not that hard. Hell, this is my third souls game so i'm not even a veteran and i beat him in under 30 tries.
@@yourdeadman With summons or without summons, with or without magic boogaloo? You can make Radhan easy with magic on your weapon, using fire or incantations and magic. Without the things that make him easier, he is extremely difficult. The level counts too, over 130 he is a normal boss.
As someone who beat this game for the first time with a heavy great sword build, the last phase of the final boss was so painful. It was basically just a running simulator 😂
I killed him last night but that fight almost drove me mad. I am using a pure STR build with a colossal sword and it took forever to figure out when I could safely land a single hit in the first phase. The second phase is such a cluster fuck too; so many spell effects that it is hard to see what is happening.
Can you only fight Malenia after beating the game? Like I thought charlie was going to beat all the bosses before fighting the Elden Beast. So why beat the game first than fight Malenia...
i also got my 100% on ER a few months ago, it was my first game so after that i went and bought the souls series, i have finished (not 100% tho) ds1 and ds3, and im on ds2
The soundtrack was amazing, he was easy but he’s probably my favorite fight behind Astel in rannis quest, love that fight just because of the arena how it’s almost like your in space, and his design was sick
The difficulty difference between Radagon and Elden Beast compared to Gehrman and Moon Presence is insane. Bloodborne final bosses have literally nothing on Eldens, plus if you die to moon presence, you dont have to fight Gehrman again.
@@connoc5078 yeah Radagon is heavily telegraphed and has multiple long punishable windows. Like Beast Clergyman and Maliketh were a lot worse for me. And with Elden Beast, the only annoying move are the homing stars, if Fromsoft hadn't added that it'd be a lot better. But just because of that one or two moves, its fun factor just goes down the drain. Extremely weird that they have a boss that keeps running away, uses bullshit homing projectile spam and not allow for Torrent in the fight. They spent so much resources and focus on trying to make the fight so cinematic, yet Torrent would have made it much better. There could have been a lore reason why Torrent by default cannot be summoned within the tree or whatever, but they could be a side quest where you upgrade your steed whistle to make Torrent summon possible, that would have been a cool thing to give an option for.
@@Shtifunot really cus in lore he is the second elden lord of the age of the erdtree, placidusax was lord of the dragon age, so that places us at 4th no matter that radagon is marika
@@twistedfox9445 I’m closer to this guy as well, I didn’t use mimic cause it made it harder but I managed her in 8 tries. The Godskin Apostle in the divine tower of Caelid took me 2 days. Everyone’s hardest boss and experiences are different.
I use a strength build with greatswords and radagon legit took 20 tries without any summoning, than I realized there's a fucking phase 2 so I'm going full fucking mimic tear now lmao
Elden beast visually is stunning and the score is amazing but the fight itself is a disappointing track and field simulator. As melee 90% of the fight is just chasing him around the arena and as soon as you land a hit or two he goes bye bye. Genuinely tedious to fight
And once u get to new game plus it just becomes so much more annoying, cos all if theyre attacks halves ur health and its basically luck simulator for melee builds
Honestly, this james cordon-malenia showdown is got me hyped up more than anything at the moment. I was able to beat her but only with a mimic tear because her weapon art is just so damn lethal so I needed something to take aggro off me
I almost soloed her with moonbeil and just spamming my weapon and doing crits, I got her down to 25% second phase and she hot me with one combo so I'm gonna try her again tomorrow.
@@seorwhite3333 yeah, my go-to method anytime Im struggling with a boss is to get away from my controller, and then do something productive that doesn’t involve the game. Then when I come back I usually do better.
@@seorwhite3333 oh yeah me too, but I also have school to keep me busy, so its a bit easier. I also have bad patience so when I get tilted I am just way worse at the game, so I gotta collect myself a bit before I continue. I’ve almost beaten it, but am currently beating myself up with the mini-“boss” crucible knight in the last region of the main game. The crucible knight is damn near the hardest boss in the game for me and my playstyle lol
I went to NG+ to do patches quest and get the armor but I accidentally 1 shot him in the cave so I speedran my way through the game to get the next NG+ again to do it
You can burn through the game in NG+ so fast with a good build + mimic tear and just fighting the required bosses, I did it in no time to 100% it with all the endings.
Just if anyone is wondering I’m on patch V1.02 and +25 is NOT glitched. Tested it with the great star hammer, +24 did 636 damage and +25 did 661 damage
Yeah I’m watching this while I’m only getting up to volcano manor now I’ve finished the bottom limegrave, caelid and lurnia lakes and the carion manor and I have a plus 19 cold uchikatana with frost stomp and level 140..😂😂
even with mimic this Radagon /elden beast thingy was frustrating to da point dat i felt a strong urge to use online players summon to do da fkin job... until I got hang of Radagon to stay close and be aggro instead of staying away to make radagon stop using those bloody laser beams... but wat this guy went through is Salutable... btw killing elden beast with a Godslayer 's black flame attack was a pure Gold moment for me
No weapon art is as strong as 2 katanas with bleed and frost. Thats just absurdly strong. At least night and flame has a long prep time, but dps wise ^ this is way way way stronger.
@@SuperbChicken nope, they are not, because of the bleed and frost buildup. Deleting 30% of the bosses health in 4-6 hits is stronger than 10 % in the same amount of hits. Night and flame requires a build to do high damage, 2 katanas with frost does not (acrane just speeds up the buildup, making them even stronger).
Bruh wut, Faith builds are not OP, at least not mine, I never had a stupid easy time while running faith, but maybe I was just nerfing myself. Who knows.
as charlie says some repeat boss are unbearable to fight or even watch other ppl fight. usage of weapon art or magic are very justified on these bosses, imo they should ve given any duo repeat boss (gargoyles & godskin) a sync attack where both move as 1 and if successfully avoided both are open to be punished, instead of having both cover each other by spamming attack, making player run around waiting for a small chance to punish them.
They clearly made Godfrey/Hoarah Loux way harder afterwards. I played through the game this week after 1.10. Radahn took me three tries at level 60 with no actual build(first souls game after sekiro, I didn't how I make the build good so I just had two Uchigatana barely leveled, Samurai armour and put my points in vigor and dexterity). I beat all main bosses in less than 10 tries and also the optional ones that I thought. Except for Godfrey/Hoarah Loux. I was around level 130 with a dex/int build. Full Radahns armour, Moonveil +10, Meteor blade +9. I had 7 heal flask +6 and 2 FP Flasks. This man took me around 23 tries. It was insane. It was still the most fun fight. But Hoarah Loux jumped across the entire arena and never stopped attacking. I might have had the worst RNG possible but he literally did not stop. There wasn't even time to roll or heal. If I got hit once(mind that he jumped across the entire arena unlike in this video) he did a combo that killed me
