I Beat Every Elder Dragon in Monster Hunter Part 1: Generation 1 

I can tell this'll be a good "looking back" kind of series. I hope it'll blow up soon.

So about the MH1 Fatalis unlock conditions: There is some merit to the required 100 wyvern slain as a certain NPC in Minegarde actually talks about that. However in actuality you have to slay specifically 50 Rathians and 50 Rathalos and not just any 100 wyverns. You also have to be HR20 and as you said beat every single Town quest the game has.

Imagine if they gave Lao the Jiva treatment and made it an actually interesting fight. I always found it hard to believe a monster that large just puts up with these insects poking it with sharp sticks. Even if it's running from an even larger threat comparatively (Fatalis)

i personally have warmed up to lao shan lung the more n more i fought him, i imagined it kind of like a early gen "cinematic fight" as the atmosphere can be incredibly epic and compelling. his theme is pretty cool too! Cool video keep it up

Great video! If I could make a suggestion, at some parts your narration is drowned out by the background music, so in the future if you drop the background audio down some more, it'd make it much easier to hear you. Can't wait to see more of these!

I'd like to see them bring back Lao and give him the same kinda treatment IB gave Fatalis or Sunbreak gave Amatsu. Just completely re-imagined

This series deserves so much more attention

a couple notes: fatalis's AI was changed (some say broken) between mh1 and mhg, which made a safe spot behind his legs - the mh1 version (where he is tbe final boss) is definitely harder in terms of monster movement and lethality and the term elder dragon first crops up in mh2, i don't know if you mention it there, just thought it might be interesting to mention the monsters weren't so thoroughly classified at this point in the series.

The one time youtube recommendedations actually gice me some quality content.

I will always believe that "Bloodbath Diablos should be an Elder Dragon" because it gave me the same sense of victorious relief that defeating Elder Dragons gives me

Also one advice for frontier When you reach G rank in frontier use tonfas or either magnet spike or switch axe F because level 1 or even level 9999 disu or shantien or fatalis and fatty white are able to one shot or two shot you even with zenith armour and for exotic amatsu (which can be unlocked at HR5 or G rank 250) can also one shot you so advice: get evade or better dps weapons

Monster Hunter G changed many things compared to MH1JP (comparison should be made between the JP games as the JP version is the only one that can the save transfer) Hitzones across almost every monster was changed Elemental damage is worse in MHG compared to MH1 due to the changed hitzones Item combine speeds changed Dual blades were added in MHG They broke the AI of Fatalis making him easier (AI is not broken in the NA/EU versions) Variable Monster sizes were added in MHG Village progression was also changed (there were not many monsters in MH1JP village)

I've recently beat FU so now I've officially done all elders (except the risen elders in Rise, but I don't really like Rise enough much to grind to the necessary MR to fight them). I've got to say gen1/2 fatalis sucked so much, Lao was kinda boring but you could at least turn your brain off for that fight, but the fatalis trio does so much damage that despite being extremely boring you actually have to pay attention, and the high hp means that soloing them will take multiple quests. Gen 4 fatalis/miralis (Dire miralis is basically gen 3 fatalis tell me the two aren't practically identical) are significant improvements and very fun fights. Going back to second gen really makes me appreciate how 4U improved much of the old monster roster and gave most of the gen1/2 guys a much needed fresh coat of paint.

I don't know if I would consider Crimson Fatalis the final boss of the online hub for MHG since he is event quest exclusive monsters. Neither of them even have the highest hunter rank requirement to post or join being only HR 27 with regular Fatalis being locked behind HR 29 to join and HR30 to post (and more requirements on top of the HR).

Good video, going to have to disagree with some of your bowgun recommendations though. Outside of clust spam, bowguns in gen 1 had abysmal damage. For gen 2 I'd recommend checking out the Dos version of the Yama Tsukami fight as it is different from the version present in MHFU.

Didn’t get to fight Fatman back when I was a child. Safe to say I regretted the time when I was too lazy to do all the quests leading up to it, and on World… let’s just say it f*cked me in the butt numerous times than I could count.

Advice for Frontier: Laviente and its variants, despite its power, is not an Elder Dragon. Duremudira was classified as one towards the end of the service. Also, dangerous first class technically doesn't exist. Well, it kinda does, but it also includes stuff like Lao, Amatsu, Narwa and the Morahns It's called the Calamity Class.
