once, i ordered a mystery box for $15 and it was filled with a lot of makeup from Sephora (highlighter, foundation, waterproof mascara and eyeliner, and some Kylie Jenner stuff), a purse, high heels, and a note inside that said "My ex's Christmas presents I bought before she cheated on me but I never got rid of them. Thought they'd be useful for someone else. Cheers."

It's actually against eBay terms of service to sell these boxes and when eBay finds out about them they shut them down because you're supposed to know what you're buying and a mystery box prevents you from knowing what you're buying

I'm actually really tempted to do this with all my books. Just advertise them as a random collection of books, put it up for $20 and see if someone wants me to pick what they read for the next month. I just moved and its almost impossible to part with books without taking them to a salvation army (too goddamn many to do that without a truck) or selling them one by one.
