So far so good. Hit 190k miles today so gonna film that update video within the next couple days. Haven’t put out many videos due to me finishing and tweaking my headlights, so I’ll get the ball rolling agsin
Have you spend too much money in maintenance or anything? People keep telling to buy a mustang with low mileage for daily driving my my thing is that I want to keep the car for a few years at least so idk 2018 mustang with 70k miles is bad? And only 1 owner
@@fallonc8343 nothing more than fluid changes. Regular oil changes, diff fluid changed once, radiator and brake fluid flushed every couple years. Check out my "it finally broke" video.
@@brycefleming3352 always report it to car fax. Weather you do your own oil in tbe driveway or you go to an independent shop. If you wanna resell your car for top dollar you keep the records. It's not hard most people are just lazy. I seen a supercharged 2007 s197 for sale last month and its got 74k miles only $13500 from a dealer. So realisticly walk in with cash 10k or less. I want it but can't justify it because the oil changes are so sporadic and the supercharger was put on at 7k miles which comes up on car fax as computer reprogram. So im looking at best a supercharger rebuild at worst a fucked up engine/transmission and supercharger. Its too much of a gamble. The rebuild for all 3 would be as much as I'd pay for the car.
Have an 05 with 155k on it, paid 7k. Love every moment of my car, bought 100% stock, old man owned, one owner, already got mods on the way and some installed lol
I am not much about going really fast. So I much rather take the 4.6 3v from 05-09 due to the retro classic look.I also believe the 4.6 3v is more reliable then a 5.0 or the ecoboost
I have a 2011 GT with 70k miles. don't let the high miles distract you, a 2011 with 150k means it saw a lot of freeway miles which is good. just stay with quality 91/93 fuel and full synthetic and you should be good.
Good luck with your car man. Don't let anyone tell you that the coyotes aren't stout. I tore apart my 120k+ mile motor to build it and it still had factory honing marks on the cylinders, and that was after 30k miles of me beating the piss out of it shifting at 8k all the time (I bought the car at 97k miles). Also... get whatever cold air you can for a good deal. My tuner has tested several variants of the pmas against their competitors (jlt, k&n, ford racing, etc) and the gains are inline with the other options. mod wise... the best mods hp per dollar value wise: get a 2018 gt intake manifold and a catless x/h pipe. The stock cats and mid pipe are really restrictive. I picked up 12 whp just from cat deletes and I feel like I could have picked up at least another 5-10 hp from fixing the restriction in the stock midpipe right where it meets up to the cats. the piping there necks down to like 2 1/4". Other than that, I'd save for boost or just enjoy it as it is. The mgw will definitely make the car a lot better to drive... my shifter was starting to fall apart at 120k miles so I don't even want to think what a 150k mile shifter feels like.
Thank for the support! I plan on going catless with long tubes and off road h pipe but gotta save first (college kid here) I can't compare the shifter to any other car because I Haven't driven any other mustang but I'm not pleased with it currently. Not sure about boost as this is my daily but maybe one day..
Lol I loved my 11 Kona blue until it started to tick with 3,000 miles and then knock at 10,000. Not saying all coyotes are garbage I’m just saying they definitely are no where near perfect and I should of got a 4.6 cause atleast it wouldn’t of blown up.
Beautiful car and for the price I dig that man, I always appreciate when people do what makes them happy and your keeping it clean and up too par hell it still will drive like a brand new mustang so be props BIG CHIEF
@@josephr.8622 2011 is when they put in the 5.0 with a chinese standard. That's why they say to get a 2010 or older with standard or if it's an auto 2011 to present because to my knowledge they've kept the same auto transmissions
High mileage? I thought that about my S197 when it was at 110K. Now its at 130K and ya know what? I swear it runs as good as it did when I bought her new in 2008. Btw, it's road course tracked and it's still strong!! It's heavily modified suspension & handling wise, and engine only has a Bama tune and Steeda CAI. Not the fastest car by any means, but damn fun!! I just keep her regularly maintained. These cars are built like tanks!! Drive the hell out of her and have fun!!! oh yeah, I also have a Sn95 Mustang 3.8 and it's on 264K miles. Still reliably running.
Glad to hear it! The guy I bought the TSW wheels from knows people with Boss 302s that have 100-150k miles and road course them as well. It’s like someone else said on here, they’re truck motors put in a car.
The 2007 S197 3V my buddy has about 175k miles on it. The cars been very well taken care of ever since it’s first owner it’s had 4 owners so far and each took great care of the car and the car runs fantastic. I plan to buy it off of him in a few months and I think it has another 50-100k miles so long as it’s maintained properly and not driven hard all the time. It also has performance plugs, a short throw shifter, stage 3 clutch, cold air intake, and he believes it has a tune from the previous owner.
I have a red 2011 California Special I bought brand new in June 2010. Still a beautiful, fun car to drive. Mostly stays in my garage now after it hit 100K miles. Have had very few, only minor issues over the 10 years I've driven it. Total stock and well taken care of by this older Mustang fan.
love to hear that! But you shouldn't keep it locked in a garage just because it hit 100k. Go drive it and make memories in it. After you sell it, you'll be more glad you drove it and had fun than let it sit
I put 230,000 miles on a 302 68 Musang Hardtop still ran great but the timing chain was a little loose. Have a 2012 V6 with a 145,000 still goes 13.70 in the quater doesn't leak oil and is pretty healthy. Miles don't hurt lack of care does
I want a Mustang GT....I am 62 and all I had all my life are 4x4s.....when I was in high school...a lot of guys had muscle cars......a itch I have never scratched.
I bought my 2010 GT w 110k miles, sold it with 145k miles. All stock. The only thing I had to change was A TPMS and sway bar links. It had all the throttle response as a low mileage 4.6 and it shifted thru all the gears just as you would expect it to
I have a 2012 GT with 70K miles. Bought it new. Installed a MGW shifter within the first year. It works great. Suggest installing a premium gas tune. That will increase your low end torque.
Bought an 08 bullit with 135k for 9k mostly stock other then exhaust havent had any issues other then usual maitenance 2 yrs ago, now at 176k no issues. Now boutta pay it off less then 2k left! Not bad for 20 year old
Izzy Washington boi you drive a base model and think it’s a premium and no it not my car that’s why I’m the one filming dummy get your fax straight before you try talking shit it my friends daily he has a 17 gt that’s in the shop atm would but busses on u in his car or my 3v
U do realized he said it had 5% when he bought it, but he said he changed it to 30% because 5% was impossible to drive at night with. Listening is key!!
I had a 2005 mustang gt black convertible that had one owner before me and it had 140k miles when I bought it and I gotta tell ya I beat the piss out of that engine and floored so many times yet it never gave me problems and still ran like a charm I had to sell it at 200k miles cause I crashed and messed up the rear axle lol those cars can last and the engine can take a lot of abuse those 4.6 engines are bulletproof
Earlier this year, I bought a 2011 Ford F-150 XLT 4x4 5.0 with 200k highway miles mainly for $8,000! Came with Borla exhaust. Purrs like a kitten. #Coyotegang
I'm late to the party again but my 2012 Mustang V6 convertible has 200700 miles on her. Only engine work I have done is install a new throttle body. She's back to 28 mpg city!
Import guy my whole life, wife convinced me to go American muscle.... so I did. Month ago picked up a 2006 Mustang s281 SC 96k miles. Best choice ive made !! Im a believer 🇺🇸👍
I almost got an 07 instead of this one, had full BO and was silver (preferred color) however, i decided I would enjoy the 6 speed and coyote motor. maybe someday I'll coyote swap an 05-09.
Looking at a 2012 , 90kmi for 15. Think I can get it for 13 its heavily modded from the dealer. Ear drum splitting from 5 feet. Breaks tires loose going 65 when you hit it lol. Sweetest car I've ever driven. Have a stupidly fast v6 honda right now w 186k that I'm only 4 thousand into, so itll be a step for me. Financially and eagles per hourly
Yeah 150k is a little high, but 10k isnt bad for a car still pushing 400+ hp. I'd just be worried about the reliability and wonder how hard it's been ridden. I bought my 2014 GT Track Package w/ 23k mi for 19.5k
i bought one with 150,000 and it had a possible spun rod bearing, however i got a helluva deal on it. Mine is 100 % stock other than flow master cat back. I love mine its kona blue.
The old 302 from the mid 80's to early 90's would do an easy 200k if you mantined them...knew guys who ran the crap out of their stangs with no problems. I wonder how these new 5.0's will hold out.
Last weekend bought me a 07 mustang GT premium with a bunch of ford racing upgrades and borla exhaust and custom interior for 12K. Just reached 50k miles on it. Looks and sounds much better i wish i could show you
Get an aftermarket tune immediately! The 11s have a tune issue that makes the 8 cylinder run lean. Happened to mine and it spun the rod bearing. Put a 17 motor in it and a PBD tune and it’s good to go
I just bought a 2017 S550 GT PP Pack 373's Manual.. She's nasty.. It was garage kept and only had 9K on her.. I just hit 10,700 miles on her.. But I am going to get that oil catch can too.. before this summer.. OH and LOL I have 5 on my back window too, and 20 on my sides wow what an adjustment driving at night..
I almost bought a 05 mustang gt last night for 9k, it read 150k miles but when I checked the carfax, the report revealed a potential rolled back odometer back in 2021. it turns out the car's original miles were 270k. I guess the guy had money problems and what not so I offered to buy it for 5k, and he still wouldn't let it go for less the 8k, it's crazy what car owners ask for those 3V mustangs lol.
Very nice car though!! And thanks for letting us 5.0 guys know that we have good things to look forward to. Oh, you like the Brenspeed High Mile Coyote video series. They go step by step in modifying a car with similar mileage as yours!
No. They are very durable and reliable motors. Just make sure the oil has been changed every 5ish thousand miles and take into consideration any engine mods done. From my experience it’s just like one with low miles but cheaper.
My 3 valve I bought for 10k with 100,000 miles with all the packages aside from shaker 1000 and the sub. And with premium alloys. Hard to believe you couldn’t find one cheaper
For parts, look at Tasca Ford. I bought the 13' 14' GT500 13" rear brakes for under 200. Late model, American Muscle, CJ's all asking 400 plus. And I also bought the 15" 6 piston front brakes for 1000. Ever where else is asking 1500 to 2000. Tasca parts!!
My advice, do sensible mods for longevity to the motor (it is a great engine with a lot of power), like a cold air intake, but spend the money on a new transmission first and then your suspension.
How in the world did you find this for 11k and 2 years ago,.... I’m finding 2011’s with 150k miles for $15k at the lowest 2 years later!! What a blessing 🙏
I sadly got a v6 camaro BEFORE i got into cars. I got it cos it looked nice and then was like ooh damn the v8 is where its at and now i just need a 5.0 🤧 theyre just so beautiful and sound amazing.
love the car but honestly bro for everything you’ve gotten with it ie fake hurst shifter, cloth seats, high miles, rust, chips in taillights, you could’ve def talked him down.
@@MotoTaco keep Marching on MotoTaco, as soon as you hit 200k miles let all the RU-vid viewers like myself see that beautiful mustang you have. To clean you're engine bay area chemical guys has this sprey called Black on Black it's interior and exterior Spray Dressing, I have used some on my vehicle it makes the engine nice and shiny without damaging any engine components.
I've owned several sets of General tires. Even had a set on my 87 LX 5.0, that I bought new, and still own. General's may be inexpensive tires, but they are by far the most underrated tire ever made. Its sorta like a secret that you dont want General to know, so they dont get wise, and raise their prices. Am I saying they are the best tire out there, no, but for the money, they are hard to beat. Definitely the best bang for your buck anyway,, and I've owned a lot of tires in my 37 years of driving, and owning many performance cars.
Ya I mean I’ve never had traction issues in the rain or heat they’ve done their job very well. Can I still break them with traction control on? Oh ya. Very easy but they only time is slips is when I’m doing 60 on mountain roads where the limit is 20. Although they are great I still want to try other brands.
MotoTaco I want a Mustang like that, and your look on it, really opened my eyes. Not a bad way to purchase a car. You definitely killed it when it came to other owners eating the depreciating aspect. Car looks great b.t.w. You can see my old turd under, (ben arehart) on RU-vid. Back Tires are insanely expensive, and I hate having to fork the money out to keep them each time I have to replace them, they also have insanely great grip, lol.
It's actually really easy. Change the engine oil every 3k - 5k miles with full synthetic. Learn to do it yourself, super easy and really cheap. Change the engine air filter every 15k or so. Keep an eye out on all your other fluids. Check your spark plugs. Keep it washed regularly, that includes the interior. Fix any mechanical issues that come up, don't put them off even if you can still drive the car. That only leads to even more expensive fixes down the road. Last but not least, DO NOT BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF IT 24/7. Romp on it every now and then, but don't drive it like you stole it all the time. That's why cars like these never last long, people beat the crap out of them too often, then pawn the problems off to the next owner.
I did but you have to remember this was 5 years ago. I have yet to see one anywhere with 140k that is 20k. Most that are 20k near me have around 80-100k
looking at the same car tomorrow, '11 with 151k miles on it. 11k at the dealership but I'm gonna see if I can talk it down a bit. It's an automatic though, but I heard theyre more reliable than the manual transmission
MotoTaco right double the price. That's like saying you could a new one for triple the price. They won't be saying that in a few years. Cars dont hold value. If its maintain well you good. You can do a lot with an extra 10k. Fuck those who say its a bad deal
I’ve heard good things about them. I have a couple friend who have them with bolt ons and they do fine. Just take maintenance seriously and you’ll be fine.
Before I bought my '12 GT, I was still driving my '96 GT with the 4.6L with about 350k miles. The 4.6 engines are built like tanks and can take a hell of a beating too.
Never thought this one video would blow up and now I can’t change the music. Sorry. All my other videos have different music but when I made this I didn’t have the song I wanted so I had to settle for the one on it
I have a v6 base 2012 mustang with 173k...it still running great....all i notice is when it is at idle it kind of has a "kick" to it every now and again...other than that...very reliable....i wonder how long it will last! I was thinking of getting Car Shield....anyone think that is a scam ???
That's a good deal and mileage who cares, I have a 1994 dodge stealth r/t and everyone said it would fall about left and right, I have 193,000 and runs fine I have to do value seals but that's after 4 years of ownership, my Subaru's are the biggest junk I've ever own I'd never recommend one
I think it was a good deal. You can drop in a brand new Coyote if the old one goes out and all said you’d still be in it for less then an average mile 2013-14 GT.
Hmmm never thought about that. I know once you hit like 500 or 5000 miles in a new car it bumps the power up slightly. I would assume its the same of it goes down 1-6 hp. Don't Know tho. But stay tuned, power mods are on their way!
