TheCarPassionChannel Greg! keep it under 330 wheel and run the 6speed... 400.. problematic eh as you know. Boost by gear in 4th?. "Best all round Miata on RU-vid" them fighting words! Hope your wise advice will be in his dm's! Personally I like the idea of doing a rods only build 6258 build with not running over 300wheel, minimal money and time into the long block and as well as internal tampering, esp if your still a scrub like me. Looking forward to seeing you hit the canyons some day soon. Thanks to the both of you!
For such a build to have "responsive" you can make compound turbo setup. Like the turbo of molly and the turbo of green miata. For spool you can run something like gt1749 or gt2052. Also boost before compressor housing of a small turbo DOES NOT reduce reliability and/or load. And you will be able to run with low compression, have it spooled up, and have 500hp
Gedas Alekveravičius compound turbo’s are something of the past, check out turbo yoda on mcn. A modern turbo like an EFR will have enough torque downlow and still be fast enough to make 350 wheel hp.
Uhm sounds complicated, why would you change compression ratio's. I mean what i hear is you want less power, but the power should be deliverd earlier. Wouldnt a smaller turbo work? Or are you scared you will lose power up top?
High compression turbo build, a bit quicker spool than low compression. A smaller turbo won't let him hit his future power goals. E85 solves the high compression issue and a turbo like an efr6258 will work perfectly for his desire for quick spooling. EFR6258 spools like a 2560r but makes way more power.
@@calvinnguyen1364 well it isn't really a problem, but i thought of was a bit overcomplicated, but you have to look forward. Molly hits 500 HP is a pretty good title lol.
I’ve been waiting for this video for ages. I remember when you played forza for a living. I just looked jeez I’ve been watching you for over 3 years...
Car passion channel blew up a couple 6-speed transmissions with his VVT build, so you might consider going with a more stout transmission when you blow the 5-speed
His transmission failure was attributed to the unsprung clutch he was running. The flyin Miata stage 2 clutch kit is rated somewhere around 360ft/lbs of torque, and is relatively gentle on transmissions. IMO a 6spd with fm2 clutch should hold up well at 400whp
@@WTGRacing "should" you never want to make things operate on the edge. Just get a BMW diesel transmission, a guy here are runs 900hp through them, only breaking them at around 1k
the bmw transmission adds more complication and cost. Another option is a forged gear set for the miata 5spd from Quaife with an FM2 clutch. Eric Anderson's SSM miata runs this exact setup at over 400whp. His miata was the first to ever win ssm autocross national championship in SCCA
I was wondering who bought Matt's motor! Also, if you've seen The CarPassionChannel's videos, the 6 speeds aren't very capable of holding power. Personally I have a built bored BP making ~320 whp and haven't had an issue
DJkirakira Well Pasha would probably buy it from him in that case yea but i feel like if Caleb keeps the turbo setup and just sells the engine it would turn out cool, but still just a thought.
This is going to be dope! I follow a lot of car youtubers but you’ve always been one of my favorites because you take it upon yourself to do the work if you’re able. I’m starting my journey of learning how to work on my car and hopefully make it fast in the future. Super excited for this build!
A supercharger won't let him hit his future power goals. E85 solves the high compression issue and a turbo like an efr6258 will work perfectly for his desire for quick spooling. EFR6258 spools like a 2560r but makes way more power.
E85 solves the knocking issue, not pressure issues. You're compressing everything into a much smaller place, and even if the internal components are better, the block was still engineered for a whole lot less. And regardless of "how fast it spools", superchargers will ALWAYS "spool" faster, simply because they are instantaneous. 300 HP is more than doable with one.
You won't make 340 on a supercharger. But he could just run a smaller turbo. The block will be fine as long as its tuned safely. And no superchargers won't " always" "spool" faster. Superchargers will be more responsive because they are directly mechanically coupled to the crank, but something like a pro charger only makes peek boost at high RPM, roots style blowers can be responsive down low, but then you'll most likely end up over spinning it on the top end. A properly sized turbo can hit peak boost down low and maintain it all the way across the powerband.
I was wondering the same thing, I haven’t seen them together in forEVER! They seem to not be together anymore, no content from Adam with Nicole in it, and Nicole has been traveling a lot with friends and doesn’t seem to be home when Adam is. It’s odd I’m wondering if they split up but not divorced
Yes! Finally. I was waiting so long for this, last week we were talking about you and we said; "it would be fun if gingium buys the motor from the turtle miata". Been following you from the first miata video! Greetings from Holland!
The paint is perfect. Also, it’s super clean at the moment. I would only want him to mod it aesthetically wise when it becomes undriveable due to its power and it needs to fit bigger wheels.
Thank God a good explanation of compression lmao I was searching on forms to understand what compression means and I understand a little of it but now I understand what it fully means
Once you have your motor in i want you to race Thecarpassionchannel miatia (he's realy far away for where you are but it could be a good trip with the bus ?)
@@falkhenze8560 Yeah nothing wrong with it. Every other country besides America calls it "Aluminium" I guess that's too complicated to pronounce for Americans so they called it "Aluminum" lol
What you should do is do like 10-12 comp ratio and run a compound set up similar to what a diesel does. Have the smaller turbo you have now run 10-20 psi full boost at lower to mid rpm and the larger turbo could make 30-40 at mid to high rpm. You'll reliably make 600 and it'll be a great track car. You'll have a great Dyno graph with tons of area under the curve and it'll be easy to drive at lower to mid rpm in the street.
Gingium vs racing ram fam???? LEGO I’m in minnesota I’ll meet you at a track and race you! Miata vs ram. 2,000lbs vs 5,000lbs. 500hp vs 900hp!!! Let’s make this happen man! CALLING YOU OUT GINGIUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First the hoonitruck drops and then gingium announces his new motor for Molly... Also gingium looks a bit like logic with the new glasses 😂 I like the glasses
Glasses look good. Very sophisticated look. I was blind as a bat starting in high school, it hit fast. Hated wearing glasses though, they were just annoying. Always getting reflections, smudges etc on them. Got LASIK years back and it's the best money I've spent on myself.
"He is shooting for 800hp"-"I dont want to spoil his build"-"But If i was shooting for 800hp A K-series would be great" Put together the peices my young ones
To change the subject to the truck. I'd love to see the radiator in the bed to make room for a turbo. Or do an STS style turbo with a bed mounted intercooler. It'll put more weight on the rear for closer to ideal balance.
This sounds awesome! I’m so glad you are keeping a Miata motor in it, especially Matt’s. I would suggest instead of blowing up the 5 speed, sell it to fund the 6 speed. Nice glasses by the way, they suit you well.
HO-LY CRAP! This is gonna be awesome for you and the channel! Take a minute to get a bunch of stats on the car in its current state so you can compare to the new build and each modification after that: 0-60, 0-100, 60-0, 100-0, 1/4 mile time, small circuit time?, red line, dyno, anything else?
it's so crazy man. I've been following you since the throwback forza 4 days. I've known Matt and Jace from our old weds night meets, and pretty good friends with Jace and his family too. crazy to see how small the world really is. Jace is amazing man, you're in great hands
