I have a finder, works great. It really is a good little printer. I liked it enough that I bought the big boy model, the Guider 2. Been very happy with both so far.

Easy to find the short on mainboard just connect it power and pour some pure IPA 100 percent alcohol on it and the short part will get hot and vaporize the alcohol once you found the area dig more it cpuld be just a capacitor or a inside the circuit if capacitor super easy to replace search video about finding short using alcohol

I would check the power adapter and make sure it was the original. If substituted, the polarity may be backwards. Could also be amps needs to be higher.

It was broken because the cardboard goes on the inside not ontop lol. They packed it good! cramming the cardboard in anger ontop into the printer lol.

750 new ? damn... Lmuu bearings, 8 mm rods probably, Nem 17 motors probably,.... i mean why would anyone actually buy this for 750? You can make beater and bigger printer for half the price As for the one,you got, If the frame is rigid enough and worth the hassle , just get any control board - even cheep Anet boards and re-wire it.

Hay I see you mess with a lot of 3d printers, I was wondering if you could recommend a few printers for me? I'm into rc scale building, and I Need something that I can print 1/10 scale body's with that will be good quality and strong. Plus verstial to print small parts. I can work with the price. It needs to be unreliable to with Parts available. Thanks.

I just started 3D printing so I'm not sure if I can give any good advice but I would look into cr-10 or cr-10 mini made by creality.

what is the maximum size you'd want to print? The Flashforge Finders have a large print bed, are safety tested and certified, and are backed by a warranty, flashforge OEM tech support, and parts available from 3d print repair techs like me, flashforge directly, and other resellers. It's also a tank. I work with some schools that have 1000+ hours on their creator pros and they've never had a problem.

Nice, I recently did the same: Bought a broken finder from lokal "ebay" like website. Found out it was just clogged and the bed not leveled right. Also, the levelingssensor wasn't going to it's home position. Fixed by unscrewing it and saw the powercables where in his travel path. I moved them somewhere else, refit the sensor. And still the same issue. Needed to modify the sensor calibratie at the settings of the finder. After that, the printer is working fine, not broken at all. Payed 120euro, which is like 137 usd

I repair dozens of these a week, that's super common. Someone takes apart the hotend and doesnt reinstall it properly and leaves the wires in the way. Great to hear that its working!!

Thank you for your posting. I was just going to buy the same eBay listing but was wondering why the comments on the post mentions only minor issues and got it working right away. Though possible, it seems too good to be true. listing shows $40 shipping though it may be more as I'm in Hawaii. So, do I buy a +$135 (shipping incl.) or a CR10 w/free shipping for $140 (from China). Okay before I go on, addressing your motherboard; I think you can find an app on your phone to monitor the IR (infar-red) of the board. Though the shorting happens so fast you may be able to feel the heated component with an IR camera. "jehugarcia" uses one on his iPhone to view bad 18650 Lith-Ion battery charging to identify overheating. Though I suspect his setup cost hime $100 for the app. You can also convert standard digital cameras to IR by removing IR filter. (again, too much effort) * Possible to add a digital Clamp meter to monitor the current drain/spike. (Amazon has C-clamp meters for $26-50 that also measures very small DC currents) * Possible to use a variable current or voltage supply and slowly bring up the watts to a low level and monitor the heating. * "Go-4-it!" push it with a huge wattage supply and let the component overload! See what heats up and replace it. (probably a shorted SCR or Solid state switch (servo driver.) * (With no power to mother board) Check the outputs of drivers to see which has different ohm readings. The drivers should all be connected to each servo cable to motors. As I understand it, the servo drivers can be bought from Amazon.com. * Final, your vid mentioned the "Latest" PC board version. Ordering another version (New or old?) may be something to review.. Back to my situation. Knowing full well the eBay purchase may have a really trashed printer. I was thinking to get 2 units and use one for parts (as advertised) But same hard choice, buy broken or get a New CR-10? I'm thinking buying broken will force my "Fixya.com" skills to the max and give the repaired 'Flash Forge' to my 11th grade nephew. I kike fixing things but don't really want to be a 3d printer guy. Rather have a CNC set up. I'm handing at hand fabrication any parts needed to 'jury-rig' components. * Last, calling up for a replacement motherboard is probably the best way to go. Well at least the fastest with minimum effort. Though you still may blow it as there may be a bad servo motor. You should test each with a meter and compare ohm readings with all the servos. Your probably right about the 'return issue' is the damaged build plate and the nozzle servo mount cracked in shipping. FYI, Ive seen files to replace these mounts or possible 3d printed upgrades. Aloha, ukeboy57 (retired food service tech) ukeboy2@yahoo.com *** Disclaimer, I'm NOT a 3D printer expert. (Though I've been asked to fix stuff I've never seen before. Hey, we're stuck on an island with no parts or experts. Got to do what you got to do.....) ***

I'm pretty sure I bought from the same seller. Ended up buying two finders from the eBay seller. First one had a doa motherboard, and the second had a broken limit switch. I swapped the motherboard out and the first one has been printing nearly every day fir amonth so far. It's eBay, and listed as as is. It's a gamble. However, even after buying two I still saved money over buying one new, and now I have almost a complete set of spare parts.

@@MatthewDuplissis Oh man, I never even thought of buying a printer on Ebay, I'll have to keep my eye out, as I'm going to upgrade from my A8 at some point. Thanks!

google reflow soldering in an oven. ive fixed electronics before by sticking them in an oven (i forget the temp) for some time and it reflows the solder to the components. this isnt easy and may damage the board, but if you already believe its defective then its worth it to give it a try
