Hi Matt. Mine is a Sept 2001 4.0 Sovereign in Emerald Green Metallic. Depending on the light, sometimes it looks like British Racing Green; sometimes it looks like Sapphire Blue. It's in great condition with only 74,000 miles on the clock and I absolutely ADORE it. So much so that when I see someone like you so enthusiastic and excited over these wonderful cars I well up with pride. There really is nothing like them. If they've been looked after from new, they're not expensive to maintain. There are loads of ebayers who supply second-hand, reconditioned and aftermarket parts. Yours is the best YT channel there is about cars. Keep up the fabulous work.

As a lifelong Jaguar fanatic I would never buy a cheap neglected example. They are all money pits. Always buy the very best examples and even then expect large bills. Parts on the X308 are becoming harder to source. Jaguar Heritage only seem to keep an inventory of quick turnover parts.

Hi Mat I would genuinely rather have this in my garage than your AMG GT . I really hope that you change your mind about this old Jaguar. It does deserve to be saved, but more importantly it deserves to love in your garage at home .I absolutely adore the 308 its the last of the try jags ,it's a decent car under all that dirt and I would be extremely disappointed if you moved it on for a measly profit of 1500 quid. Old Jaguars turn heads and it says a lot more about the man that drives it than an AMG ever could. Be proud of your roots ,you know you want to keep it ,and when asked what car do you drive. In your best Jeremy Clarkson. I drive a Jaaaaag 😁🇬🇧❤️

I think you’re on the money with this Matt, you’re final comment about someone to own and treasure, attending shows etc, would be great fun for a jag enthusiast, would make a great buy and genuine to boot! 👍

4,995. Nothing else even comes close in sheer class and looks. Loved my XJ in Westminster Blue. It was like floating on a cloud when driven.

A friend of mine has two of these and I've told him he has to leave one of them to me in his will ... I love them! I have an 1993 XJ40 which has done 360000km and I think it's the next best thing to the XJ8.

That's not mold on the outside, it's moss and lichen/algae. Much nicer stuff 😁

Hi Matt, Whatever it costs it will be worth it as the new owner will look a million dollars! Try and find any car that has such a magic carpet ride as the XJ8 for the money.

When I heard you say the MOT had lapsed and it wouldn't actually start, "The Life of Brian - what have the Romans ever done for us?" came to mind. I just knew there was going to be a rather long list to come.

You saved it Mat!, I wondered if you’d been successful. Can’t wait to see the old girl painted. I remember it when it was new. The engine has had a really easy life and any corrosion is from the years standing 👍👍👍

Hay Matt, that X308 XJ is absolutely stunning. My Mother had a similar XJ many years ago in light blue and to this day still says it is one of the nicest driving cars she has ever owned. Keep up the fantastic videos!

Thanks for keeping an other X308 on the road. One day we'll look at them the same way we look at a Spitfire

I love this era of Jags and earlier. I'm glad you're saving it's life. Worth every penny of what you've spent so far. You haven't overspent when it comes to cars like this. They must be saved come what may. That will be worth 5k to an enthusiast like me. He (or she) is out there somewhere. Keep up the good work.
